Tire works great on soft terrain (as designed).would not recommend for someone who rides mostly or all hard pack. Lasted longer than expected overall very good for $$

Bridgestone Battlecross X20 front and rear
I only use the X20 tires for MX. Glen Helen has added a LOT of sand to the track and my X30 intermediate tires just weren't cutting it there so I got the X20's.

Rear - 120/80-19...
At first glance, and compared to the X30, the rear looked like a paddle tire to me!! Stiff sidewalls made mounting more of a challenge but on the track the tire worked amazingly well in the sandy straights and turns. Inside or outside lines were not a problem and the tire hooked up well on entry and especially on exit. As the track dried out the tire still hooked up well and even on the harder parts of the track it maintained bite into the dirt. It performed best the softer the dirt/sand were but made a good transition onto the harder and drier parts of the track.

Front, 80/100/21...
At first glance the knobs didn't grab my attention like the rear did but as I looked closer they are spaced well apart and taller than the X30 knobs. Like the rear, the sidewalls are stiff and can make mounting a challenge if the tire is cold. On the track the tire excels in the soft dirt/sand and make a good transition into intermediate dirt. Once the harder parts of the track dried out the front tire wanted to skate a bit when entering and exiting the corners. Not horribly but made me pay attention to line selection.

I did not realize the front is directional until AFTER I mounted it so I had to take it back off and remount it in the correct direction...something to pay attention to when putting the tire on!!

Bridgestone or Dunlop?
I have used these tires in Moab on slickrock, sand and dirt as well as at the sand dunes. They are best for sand, but I didn’t have any trouble on the rocks. I am very happy with the performance of front and rear tires. I am used to Dunlop MX 3S tires which are my standard tires and like them as well.

Track tire
It is a good tire, not as good as the new mx33 I took off and no where near as good as the MX3S i had on before that but for the money it seems like it is going to last a bit longer.

How does the Tyre work on logs, tree roots and rocks for extreme enduro ?
Helmut on Sep 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would not recommend this tire for nasty enduro . I ride in terrain that you listed and due to its stiff sidewall the tire feels harsh at 8 psi ,deflects off of hard obstacles and does not conform and slides on rocks (CT woods).I have used Pirelli XC soft/mid with much more control on hard obstacles and works excellent in mud/sand too.I am looking forwards to try out the Motoz arena hybrid or go back to my tried and true woods favorite Pirelli scorpion xc soft mid ,as it is a much more versatile tire in off road riding with various terrain changes..
How does the X20 front compare to the Bridgestone M59?
GEORGE Y on May 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Although the M59 is a great tire, the X20 holds a line better when crossing over to intermediate terrain... also it is excellent in soft conditions as well. Over all a better tire, that's from an experienced stand point with many hours on the M59... The X20 is my choice for the intended application
...
How will this tire be for MX we mostly ride prepped tracks here in OK. would you use X20 or X30 ?
Rick A on Mar 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Here in the northeast there is alot of clay so the track get hard packed. On my 2007 Honda CR125 at my regular practice track I use the x40 on the rear and the x30 on the front and it a mix of hard pack with wood chips add. I purchase a set of x20 for a practice day a Southwick, this is a true sand track and is prep well. The tires work well in the sand but my next trip I got a set of x10 and they were much better the sand. The Bridgestone guide to where the tires work is pretty good. You may find mix up the tire with a soft rear and hard front or the other way around may work. So if the track is prep well and stays lose all day the x20 will be a great tire if it's real thick you may want to go to the x10.
The X20 front looks as though it is Directional. Is it?
A shopper on May 20, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the X20 front tire is directional.
What tube should I use with the 80/100 -21 tire?
Carson H on Sep 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You have two choices, either the heavy duty (3mm thick) or ultra heavy duty (4mm thick), both are all natural rubber for better puncture and pinch flat protection. If weight is a concern for you go with the heavy duty.
Does the soft wear faster than the intermediate or hard terrain tires?
A shopper on Nov 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My Battlecross is wearing very well in Enduro terrain , the compound seems firm compared to other tires I have had over the years, but do to this fact the tire prefers soft terrain/loam/sand and feels a bit harsh and a little slick on hard obstacles in a enduro terrain,..the tire is taking the abuse of CTs volcanic embedded rock very well. Also works good in muddy ruts.
