Dunlop has a long history of successfully providing dirt bike tires that riders everywhere love. The Geomax® MX52™ tires are unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Imagine a motorcycle tire that has methodically evolved through some of the most intense research, development and testing. How intense? Think about the most demanding riders of all – pro-level motocross and supercross champions. Professional tracks have been this tire’s proving grounds. And now Dunlop has finally released it for the consumer. But it doesn’t just have the ideal features of top-of-the-line racing tires; it is also available at a price that is within the everyday rider’s budget.

Don’t let the Geomax MX52’s past as a racing tire fool you though. Not only does it exhibit a performance beyond most other tires, it also is built with a long-lasting rubber compound. This allows it to endure the harshest of rides over and over again. The MX 52 tire really shines on intermediate-to-hard terrain. So whether you find yourself racing on a well-used track or trekking through backcountry trails, you’ll love it.

Dunlop’s improved technology is patented, but that doesn’t mean that they haven’t revealed its secrets. For example, the Progressive Cornering Block Technology (PCBT) – better known as block-within-a-block – is an innovative new design that revolutionizes tire tread. One knob nearly surrounds another knob. It may be unusual, but the improved cornering you’ll achieve as a result will convince you of its effectiveness.

Other elements of the tread have been altered from traditional designs as well. For example, the knobs running along the middle of the rear tire are placed asymmetrically. This allows the tire’s load to be more evenly distributed. If you want more damping and stability out of your tires (especially in the whoops), you’re going to love this feature. Only Dunlop would develop a design that so boldly challenges the existing system. And it impressively succeeds.

Want to learn more about the MX 52? Take a look at these impressive stats:

    REAR DUNLOP GEOMAX MX52 TECHNOLOGY:
  • Progressive Cornering Block Technology (PCBT): This is a Dunlop-patented block-within-a-block design that offers more progressive cornering action and aids in slide control.
  • Enhanced Carcass Tension Control System (CTCS): Tuned carcass flexibility from recesses placed strategically along the tire carcass helps smooth ride characteristics and allows the motorcycle to follow a line more accurately.
  • Controlled-rebound Rubber Element in the Sidewall: This construction helps to damp out bounce, acting as a suspension component within the tire so that it can better follow the track surface.
  • Staggered Distribution of Center Blocks: This spreads the load on the tire and helps with impact damping and stability, especially in whoops and hard-pack conditions.

    FRONT DUNLOP GEOMAX MX52 TECHNOLOGY:
  • New Directional Tread Pattern: This offers great traction and steering feel for a wide range of riders who have differing riding styles.
  • Enhanced Carcass Tension Control System (CTCS): Tuned carcass flexibility offers enhanced feel and steering accuracy.
  • Unique Tread Block Distribution: Knob design, pattern and construction are optimized to work in one direction, which provides advantages in feel and traction.

Of course, nothing is more convincing than experiencing the tires for yourself. Pick up a set of new Dunlop Geomax MX52 tires today. You’ll discover why so many are raving that it’s the best off-road tire ever made.

Excellent Tire!
This is my first time trying the MX 52 (110/90-19 rear). I have previously ran Maxxis Desert IT, Shinko 505 Hybrid Cheater tires, IRC M5B Evo's, and MX3s tires. I am and intermediate rider/decent B rider. I am very pleased with the MX 52 and I will be sticking with the MX 52 from now on. It was amazing how predictable this tire is on the track. I have used it in soft, intermediate, and hard terrain and it hooks up great in all conditions and never does anything funny on the track. With the other tires you would never know when they were going to break loose. The MX 52 lets you feel right when you are at that edge but doesn't just let go at random. Cornering is great as well. I prefer running the 110 on my 450 because it corners a little better with the 110 and I don't seem to be giving up any extra traction the 120 would provide. The tread life is very good as long as you only use this tire on a track. I have tried it in the unforgiving Arizona desert and it only lasts a couple of rides. I'll stick to cheaper tires for the desert but always put the MX 52 or an MX 33 on for the track.

Nice handling tires.
These tires perform well, but I think they are a little on the expensive side for as much as I ride.

Geo Max MX52
I’ve been using this on my 300 XCW for several months now. It’s a good, durable tire for the rocky terrain that I usually ride on in the Vegas area.

Roosting away!
I was so excited to get out and ride. Unloaded the bike, put my gear on and did a warm up lap or two. Came back in the pit to adjust my clickers and checked my air pressure. Forgot to air them down after mounting! I was hooking up at 25psi! I aired them down to 12.5 and enjoyed the rest of my day. Norther Cali after a nice week of rain. Awesome. Good lean angle bite and traction. Straight line hook up was impressive. I have 5 engine hours on them with no chucking and wear.

Does this tire take a tube?
A shopper on Jan 24, 2017

When buying the tire, is a tube included?
A shopper on Apr 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The tube is sold separately.
Is the rear tire directional or just the front?
Vincent H on Feb 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The front on mine shows an arrow indicating direction, rear has nothing. Tread on the front doesn't look directional in any sense.
