Inspect and check tire pressure often. This is the most important tire-maintenance function you can perform. Refer to your machine's documentation for proper maintenance. Always give tires a gentle "run-in" period of 100 miles to get the feel of new tires--this means they should not be subjected to maximum power, abrupt lean-over, hard cornering, etc. Always match the front and rear tires for optimal handling, safety and performance. Mixing radials, or mixing radials with bias or belted-bias tires, may adversely affect handling and stability.

The charts and information on this page do not imply interchangeability. Consult your machine's manual to determine correct replacements, clearances, compatibility and stability, load-bearing capacity, speed rating, radial vs. non-radial, pattern and tread compound requirements, inflation recommendations and front-to-rear tire matching. Wrong selection can result in tire failure or loss of control with serious injury or death.

The Trailmax TR91 motorcycle tires carcass utilizes Dunlop’s JointLess Belt (JLB) construction techniques for optimum comfort, stability and shock absorption. Its tread block design and use of Silica Tread Compound Technology – (a first for Dunlop in this segment) - offers improved uneven-wear resistance and reduced tearing or tread chunking in off-road conditions. This reduction in abrasion delivers higher mileage on the road.
    • Genuine dual-purpose tire designed to perform at the highest level both on the road and off it.
    • Wet and dry grip improved by silica combined with traction resins and functionalized polymers.
    • Tread block design delivers improved wear resistance and reduced tearing in off-road conditions.
    • V-Shape Pattern Concept and crossing grooves for water clearance and better off-road traction.
    • Reduced abrasion means higher mileage on road.
    • Joint Less Belt (JLB) technology guarantees high speed stability and state of the art shock absorption.
    • Environment-friendly Aromatic Oil Free (AOF) rubber compound.

    Great Tire for 80/20 Riding
These were replacements for the stock Battlewings. I wanted something a bit more "Grippy" for off road, but because I still mostly ride on twisty two-lanes, it had to have good road handling as well.

I now have a total of 4500 miles on the rear, and they are squaring off a bit, but have ample tread depth. From the looks of it, I would say they could possibly go for another 4K at least.

Got a new front of the same sort about 600 miles ago. Corners so well on the pavement (Or maybe my old Battlewing at 8500 miles just weren't that good of a tire?) The stock front Battlewing wasn't squared off, either.

Did approx. seven miles of solid graded dirt road (about 4" deep of loose soil) riding on the tires on my latest trip. Without knobbys, and on a bike as high up and as heavy as the Vstrom, I felt comfortable in high second gear max. But that was OK.

They rear definitely still grabs well.

I'll probably replace them with the same when the time comes.

    Sticky and excellent life
I was a devote Metzeler user, but when they switched to Chinese manufacturing the quality went downhill immediately. I ordered a pair of TR91's and installed them, and was instantly happy with the ride quality. What shocked me was how well they worked in rain, how sticky the are in cornering and not giving me any reason to clench my cheeks, and on top of all of that, they just didn't seem to go away, either..

I ended up changing them before their time was due because I had a 3000 mile ride in front of me and I figured there was a safe 2000 left in them.. Because they still had life left, and they still handled very well, I ended up spooning them on later.. I ended up getting another 3500 miles out of them before changing, and at that point I was just to the wear bars..

Anyway, because of the excellent ride in wet and dry, stickiness, and great life span I've ordered another set to spoon on soon.
