GBC Motorsports continues to push forward in the world of UTV tires with the release of the popular Kanati Mongrel tire in a 10-ply rated construction. Available in all current sizes, the 10-ply rated Mongrel will provide drivers with an improved sidewall for greater puncture resistance, a smoother ride, and increased overall reliability.
Now four years after the original Mongrel's debut, Kanati Mongrel 10-ply Radial accomodates the growing size and increasing horsepower of modern sport UTVs with a re-engineered carcass and sidewall. With a tougher construction and a weight that is still kept to a minimum, Mongrel tires are sure to remain the preferred choice of professional and recreational drivers that want a do-it-all tire on their UTV.

Heavy-duty 10-ply rated construction
Still made to keep weight to a minimum
Great for a wide variety of terrain
Available in all popular sizes
Smooth riding on both hardpack and asphalt
Improved sidewall for greater puncture resistance & smoother ride
Re-engineered carcass for increased durability & better handling
I got almost 10,000 miles on these tires almost no tread left I would like to get more mileage never had a flat can’t believe these people say I’ve had 1,000,000 sidewall failures no way , there on a Polaris razor 2015900xc Rayfab windshield Roof back window Diamond plated cargo box spare tire full doors these tires can take a punishment . Like I said I wish I could get more mileage out of them but I guess harsh terrain Takes a toll On them.
Took it for my first ride. Only replaced the front tires on my polaris .26 inch tires were 26 inches high despite some of the previous comments. Can' t comment on treadlife or value until i put a couple of 100 miles on them. Sound quieter than my stock polaris that lasted 1000 miles. Will replace fronts with them. stay tuned!
The tires were exactly as pictured and fit my utv perfect. They look great on my vehicle. I used them on my recent trip to my hunting camp. They really made a positive impact on the way my Honda utv handled the rough terrain.
The tires are amazing I love them I would recommend them to anyone and everyone and your service and shipping timely was great great place to buy things
Got 28’s for my xp 1000. Great tire have put a 1000 mile on them. Look new and preformed great. Very grippy. From volcanic rocks, asphalt, sand, and mud. Mongrel’s have done the job.
Lots of places to buy but we will come back here. New loyal customers.
Tires were great! Best part was the customer service. Received a call to verify our purchase as it was large and as first timers they wanted to make sure we were real! That was great. But then they refunded us the rapid delivery charge! Said it wasn’t necessary because of where we were located! Amazing service. We will be back.
Great but needs more tread like the Tusk TerraBite
These tires have been great. There is just one thing though that I would like GBC to change on them, more tread like the terra bites so that they could do better in harsh, wet, and slick conditions like snow. Other than that I have had no issues with them whatsoever. Would strongly recommend for even small ATVs like the Honda foreman 400. I used 12 inch ITP DELTA rims and the mongrels and I loved everything about this setup. It helped a lot to ease steering efforts with an altime 4WD ATV too. Thanks to RMATV/MC I was also able to get free mounting which easily saved me 40 dollars.
Overall as of right now I would recommend these tires. Hope to get some aggressive riding time on them in the near future to determine reliability.
I decided to go with the GBC Kanati Mongerls based on positive online reviews compared to other similar tires. They look great on my rzr xp1000. I went with the 30” to avoid rubbing issues or clutch upgrades at this time. They do handle different then the factory big horns but overall I think I will enjoy these more.
30x10r14 GBC Kanati Mongrels on Sti HD matte black bead-locks. Tires look great and fit my XP 1000.
Haven't been on any trails yet to truly test out the traction. Ridden on the blacktop and gravel. My machine seems to ride smoother. Purchased these because of the 10 ply rating and the more of a truck style tread design. Hoping they will stand up the the rocky terrain I sometimes get into.
I purchased these tires for the tread design and DOT rating. I use these tires off road and on the street. Even with the 10 ply rating goat heads will cause leaks that I addressed with slime. They have good traction off road and on the street. When using them on the street, I recommend you have the front alignment checked if you have a Polaris general. The toe in was way off from the factory and wore the fistr set of front tires very quickly.
Very happy and impressed with these tires they provide excellent traction in all conditions that I've used them so far smooth riding on asphalt they have little noise have them on a 835r John Deere Gator noticeable improvement over factory tires as for tread life only put about 250 miles on them so far so I can't tell you
I like the smooth ride these tires give and so far the tread has held up great in the rocks and trails . The only thing i wish is that I would have went with 30" tires instead of the 32 " as far as toning some of the horse power . But they handle great as far as corners and gripping the road .
Tires are exactly what I was looking for to upgrade our Polaris RZR 1000 XP: DOT rating, designed for western USA trails (UT), high load rating (10ply), and slightly better ground clearance. We put about 150 miles on in the last two weeks and the tires have performed extremely well. Running at 20 psi based on other reviews and the tires are handling rocky, rough terrain, minor mud, and paved road very well. The one thing to be aware of is these tires will pick and throw certain sized stones from the tread like a professional baseball pitcher. I chose MSA wheels with a different offset so the front tires extend well beyond stock fenders. I purchased a set of wide front fenders with the wheel and tire package in anticipation of issues and installed the factory mud flaps. I would suggest you do the same even if you stay with the stock wheels. I added RMC’s tire foam balancer to my order figuring eventually it will come in handy.
I bought these tires to replace my maxxis bighorns "Wich I love" and was worried about loosing traction. I mounted these tires on 15" Polaris hxlr wheels I love that I can now rotate my tires due to them being all the same size and I can tell you these tires work! I have tested them at high speeds, loose dirt, and mud and I can't get over how they work! I highly recommend these tires!
-m-2018 POLARIS RANGER RZR XP 1000 RIDE COMMAND Edit.--
Great tires I am totally impressed with them, awesome service department free shipping the tires arrived before I even got home once I had them installed put them on the Ranger they fit perfect .
So far I ain’t impressed. One had a sidewall failure after less than an hour of fairly mild riding and I had to replace it. I was able to plug the hole and finish the weekend with some pretty gnarly, tough going in some pretty serious rock crawling country without further incident, but still....at this price? Big Horn Maxxis on the same machine went over 1600 miles with no issues and most of their lives in worse rocky conditions. I bought these hoping the ten ply rating would make them even more durable. They handle fine if you can keep air in ‘em. I will probably return to Big Horns when these either wear out or irritate me bad enough.
I’ve been beating the inner web for a month now, reasesrxhibg, reading reviews, scrolling through forms, and asking questions on what tire can I run that will hold up? I ranch 10k acres the terrain will very from steep side hills, to muddy bottoms, and shell rock. I had the stock tires tore up in a week after buying the new machine. So far I’ve dealt these tires some serious abouse and they keep going, I’ve yet to have a flat and never have felt like they were not gripping. I’ll be ordering another set of these for our Honda Rancher this fall for sure.
Rly good tires hold up great dose good in mud rock dirt I’d prefer them to anyone wish they had more sizes like 33s 12 wide that would be great for off roading I got 28s on my samurai will be get 30 s next time an there got the best ply thinker the better
Haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they look good. Shipping was supper fast. I ordered them on a Thursday (standard shipping) and the tires were sitting in my driveway the next afternoon. Ok, I only live about three hours away from their store, but still that was amazing
Great trail tire. I stick to high ground and iron ore mine dumps where lots of sharp rocks are. Needed some tough tires and so far great
So far so good. Put them on and have 100 miles or so in over the week. Noticeably better handling at higher speeds then my stock Carlisle’ AT 489. Lots of rocks and hard pack trails where I ride so needed something that would hold up. Didn’t have the high speed rabble like some guys have mentioned. Handles great! A little spendy but worth the money. I shouldn’t have waited so long
For a 10 play tire, I am very disappointed in the sidewall. I blew 2 holes in 2 tires on the first ride with these tires. My buddy's 8 ply tire had no problems. It was a rocky trail, but to have that many problems was tough.
Bought these for the Ranger and to replace the tires that were getting a little thin. Tires that came off were 6 ply rated. These Mongrels are 10 ply rated and ride better! Go figure.
Good set of tires have almost 500 miles on them with little to no wear. My stock tires on my yxz 1000 didn’t even last a day before the sidewall got a hole.
BEST ANSWER:We don't have that type of specification here at Rocky Mountain ATV/MC. To make sure they will fit, take a measurement of the clearance from the front tire that's on it now towards the inside of the machine. Then add the additional width of this new tire to see if it will interfere with anything on your machine.

The 30x10-14 sizing will weigh under 34 pounds which is right on par with some of its competitors 8-ply tires. I couldn't be more happy with my tire selection its like getting a suspension upgrade and new tires for the cost of the tires alone.
I have the mongrel 10 ply 27x9-12 that weighs 28.7 LBS. All 4 on my RZR XP 900. The mongrel 10 ply 32x10-14 will probably weigh 30 to just under 34 LBS. mongrels are sweet tires.
All the reviews I'm reading on these tires are for UTV. Is this tire also recommended for ATV's? I run a Kawasaki Brute Force 750 - 2012. I plan on purchasing for the Hatfield McCoy trail riding in VW, is this recommended or should I go with the Big Horns? And approximately how many miles will these hold up before they wear riding moderately.
BEST ANSWER:They look great, ride is awesome, some vibration at high speeds(50mph) on the street, tire wear is very slow I drive about 80m miles on dirt sand and street every weekend since 5 months that I got them and no exaggerated wear, I had gbc dirt commanders and the wear was very obvious at a short time of use, if the plan is to use them on dirt, sand or pavement this are great!!!

I bought (4) of these tires for my UTV, (27x11x12). They are great for both off road as well as on road, if need be. I use my UTV to supervise parking all the cars at Road Atlanta Racing facility and I am both on/off road all day. I would highly recommend these tires for any application and I do not see why they could not be applied to an ATV as well.
I put them on my 2012 Polaris RZR. I love them. They steer better than the Bighorns, ride is great, drive a little different in sand, phenomenal on hardpacked and solid surface! I've only put 400 miles on them, I expect to get twice the mileagethat I got with the Bighorns. Hope this helps!
I have only used these tires on my two Rzr's and I think they are a great tire for all terrain and mild pavement use. They would probably work great on a ATV as well
I purchase 4 Mongel 30Ć10Ć14 10 ply what should I run in air pressure ? (The trails here is hard pack, loose gravel, sandy soil, climbing over rocks & boulders, street riding 5 to 7 miles )
I'm on my second set of mongrels because I like them so much. I started out at 16psi and it was good but seemed a little too much even though this type of tire calls for higher psi. I now run 14psi and have found it to be almost perfect blend of traction and ride quality. I wouldn't run less than 12 psi but 12-14 seems perfect on my rzr xp1k
20 psi or they're worthless. I sliced my sidewall open first ride at 10 psi and found that out the hard way. Even though they sent me the tire that way and they don't tell you that until you slice one
I have a 2010 800s with 27x9-12 in front and 27x11-12 rear. Have a 2in lift. Should I stay with the same size in 10ply or go to 14 wheels?

BEST ANSWER:I guess that depends on what you are doing with it? If you're riding in a lot of rocks I would stay with the stock rims. You'll have less rim damage and more side wall flex. If you're going bigger than 28s you might want the 14" rims due to availability of bigger sizes. Keep in mind that as you go with bigger tires you will suffer performance and eventually need to do lower gears and clutch adjustments. Usually going up 1 or 2 sizes from stock doesn't affect performance too much. Hope this helps!

Might as well stick with 12, unless you plan to go bigger than 27 in the future. I can tell you the 10 ply mongrel has held up better than I've ever seen. I was repairing flats weekly (using vehicle daily for industrial purposes) and I haven't had a single puncture in over 1400 miles since I put the mongrels on.
I have the same year and model rzr without the 2in lift. I have the 10 ply mongrels on the 12in wheels. They work fine for me. just adjust the air pressure to fit your riding conditions. don't see the need for 14in wheels unless you want to spend some money.
Hi, I would go with 14 inch wheels because you have more tires to choose from and you can us 14 inch wheels on almost every application. I also prefer the same size tire on all four corners, your able to rotate from back to front and so on.
In my opinion that's a personal preference. I put the mentioned sizes on my factory wheels and I'm pleased with them. If you are wanting to change your appearance and have a few extra dollars to spend, get some new wheels also.
BEST ANSWER:I have these on a Polaris General. I have one currently with the rim sitting on a collapsed tire as I type this and another one that leaks out over a 2 week time. You could not drive the UTV until they are inflated. I would have to say they are not run flat tires.

BEST ANSWER:I originally had 27x9 on front and 27x11 on rear with 7" wide 5/2 offset. At jamboree, hit a rock really hard. Bent tie rod link, cut tire near bead, and dented rim. The tire never went down riding on it for 2 days like this! Have since gone to 27x11 all the way around to give more sidewall protection for rims. I do tend to air mine up more than most (15 psi), but my machine with wife and I and gear is around 2400 lbs. Love these tires!

no. they are different ply rating. you need to match the same ply rating on each side. you can run 10 ply in the rear & 8 ply in the front that wont matter as long as you match the ply rating on each side.
BEST ANSWER:We can only guarantee fitment on stock sizes. However, you can measure the clearance you have under your machine and make sure you will have enough room to go up to a 30. Measure the clearance with your tires straight and your tires turned all the way to the left and right making sure the extra height will not rub on anything.

Not sure how to answer that one. I can tell you I have not given it much thought driving from my house in North ogden and up over the divide then over Monte and around the pin view dam at sometimes 65 mph and on top of monte as fast a the machine would go (1000) commander I love the tire no sway or loose feeling at high speeds. I have no regrets. hope that helps
They are a DOT approved tire. I'm sure they are probably rated for speeds you will be insane to hit on a SxS. I like the tires off-road and exploring trails in Wyoming. Can't say the same for the occasional road travel. On paved roads, mine appear either out-of-round or unbalanced. These are short runs and usually full-throttle.
The GBC Mongrel is a DOT approved tire. I have 30x10 on 14' bead lock wheels on a 2017 RZR 1000 I have had the car up to 75MPH racing in BAJA on dirt and asphalt.. no issues.. What car? do you plan on putting them on?
Shirley, Not sure what you what. i LOVE MY TIRES AND I cruise on the pavement about 40 mph. sometimes I run 55 to 60 mph. Very smooth ride on my 2016 polaras ranger.
BEST ANSWER:Really depends on pressure and weight of machine. I have 4 27x11 on my side by side and they measure just over 26". I've abused the heck out of mine and I'm impressed at how they have held up. Had them since ATV Jamboree in Richfield this year. Only issue I have is they seem slightly out of round when traveling on pavement. Not noticeable when off pavement.

I have bought 28" and 30" in past. When inflated to desired PSI both sizes were 28" and 30" tall. Don't let the shipping size fool you. The are a radial type tire..
Never measured it but I love the tire great traction Rocky Mountain atv also is awesome to do business with ordered tires on Monday got them on Wednesday.

Have not been on the street a lot, but so far no signs of wear at all. Good tracking and positive feel to them. Plus peace of mind knowing there 10 ply.
BEST ANSWER:Hi, The load rating depends on the size. If you look at kanati tires search Products and Mongrel and you will see all of the specs for each tire size. I bought 27x11.0R12 10 ply and they have a load rating of 855 lbs. They are a fantastic tire; smooth, quiet and lots of grip on my Canam Defender.

I have no idea. You will have to ask the people on the phone at RM ATV. All I can say is that they will carry anything you can put on the back of a UTV.

I have a lot of sand and desert driving and am looking for all terrain tires. Can anyone suggest if 14" rim size is better or 15"? I have a RZR XP 1000 with 2 seats. Size I'm after is30x10 and rim size is debatable. Also do they cause any loss in power?
BEST ANSWER:There are a very stiff sidewall tire. Not sure that the 1" rim size will be noticeable. We have sold most of ours for street use, and finally decided they are much quieter, and weare better than factory tires, while maintaining good traction in most conditions

I can not answer your question. I have no idea about the rim size but I do know that the tires work great in mud and snow. These are the best tires I have run and all my friends want them.

BEST ANSWER:Great, been using them on two different side by sides with beadlocks for 6 years. Like any tire though, they are not indestructible. Too fast over sharp rocks will still puncture them. Great overall desert tire.
