Best Hare scramble Tire By Far
I bought this tire after using different Michelin tires. I’ve been wanting a tire that has insane traction in the dirt and mud, and that cleans itself out really well. This tire does just that. It is by far the best tire that I have ever bought.

The beast!
Legendary tire for desert/sand/loose traction. These will pull in a straight line through lose traction like a beast, they don't necessarily have the best cornering traction on a firmer surface, but that's the only downside. Great tires that have really tall knobs.

A 140/18 fits on a CR500, but it takes up all available run in the swingarm.

Great tire for the right conditions, bad tire in wrong conditions
Well, like most tires it's not good at everything.
Awesome:
Traction 5 stars *****
Rocky strewn desert hill climbs
Any where you need huge knobby traction but don't need rubber that is going to grip anything wet.
Works fine on warmed up rock with a warm tire
Summer time single track in the mountains
Not for long root strewn climbing sections though even in the summer.
Sucks:
Traction 1 or 2 stars * **
Cold weather where there are any roots, wet rocks or anything remotely cold and slippery

Great for soft terrain
Big knobs work great in soft dirt. Seems like it will last a long time.

Climbs like a tractor
My son runs this tire in Hare Scrambles and loves the way it allows him to climb hills others are stuck which helps to keep him out of some very large bottle necks

Need a mean tire for mud? You found it.
Best tire hands down for mud and slop. I’ve blown away my class multiple times in mud races with this tire.

What is difference between the M5B and M5B evo?
Trey R on Mar 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The notable difference is the evo is a softer rubber making it better for rocks.
what is recommended size for 2T 250/300 enduro ride? the 130? 140? dont want it to be ball alike but not slim
Arik Y on May 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I normally run the 130, more pounds per square inch gives a better bite and more true feel of traction. The 140 seems to be a bit better if you are riding in super soft terrain or sand type stuff(more float). Any 250/300 will turn either one just fine
What size tube does this take?
A shopper on May 4, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I always try to find a tube that is the same size as the tire , if not available I go for the next size smaller . In a pinch you can make most any size work , on long rides I carry a spare front tube , if I get a flat it will fix front or rear . Ross
How is the wear of this M5b Evo tire, being a softer compound, versus the original M5b?
don h on Apr 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: to be honest, felt a little softer when mounting, better grip on wet rocks. no torn nobs.I ride 70 + hp cr500af in tight Pa woods lots rocks hills. I can kill a tire one ride! Plus the 140 is not that big. the best tire I have ever used for wear and the best traction hands down is the PIRELLI MT 16 the 120 100 18 is the same with as 140 IRC an the knobs just as tall . the MT16 has more side knobs.
Which size is best to replace the stock 110/100 18 on my KTM 300?
SCOTT P on Jun 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: i have a 2019 KTM 300 SIX DAY and i install the IRC M5B 140/80/18 with no problems
it rubs a little on the splash guard
it just depnds what kind of riding you do
i wanted lots of traction for hard enduro
so the wide tire combined with a tubliss at 2 psi gives me lots of traction
What size tube do I need to run this 130/80-18 tire?
A shopper on May 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You can use an 18" tube for any 18" tire. I use 120, 130 and 140 tires with same tube. When you fill them with air the tube expands to the size of your tire.
I’m trying to find a light weight bike set up. Does your website post specific item weights?
David S on Nov 29, 2018
BEST ANSWER: David , RM does not give tire weights , you do not mention size but in most sizes the M5B EVO is not a light tire . Ross Nov 30 , 2018
