Available in a wide variety of sizes, the Maxxis Bighorn Radial Tire is the popular go-to choice when you need tires that are great for desert, dirt, or rock. With their 6-ply rating and radial construction the Bighorn wears like iron while still giving you a smooth ride. When you do hit the rough stuff, the excellent tread pattern easily manages any obstacle while the extra tread lugs on the shoulder keep damage away from the sidewall and rim. So when you want a true performer, keep running on good rubber with the Maxxis Bighorn Radial Tire.
Good tire. Only issues I had were from out right abuse and hitting a very large piece of hard plastic at 65mph. I live in the desert, 90% sharp rocks. RZR RS1.
Great customer service and prices!! And the free shipping!!
Ordered a set of Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 for my can am. Side x side. Have been riding in the snow in the mountains here in Montana and have great traction even on the icy roads. Love the customer service here at Rocky Mountain Atv!!
They are a fit to the trails & make the steering even easier. Highly recommend them. Thank you. And I'd like to add the service was great & delivery was very quick.
I have used this on bead locks for rock climbing, sand dunes, general dirt and mud. They have never let me down. The punishment they take is unbelievable. I have had other friends buy tires like the Mongrel and be so disappointed they throw them away. I just stayed with what I considered an all around good performer.
Added 2 inches ground clearance from factory size, aggressive look awesome handling on all terrain. Great pair with high clearance and extended rear trailing arms.
These are great tires. I ordered them Monday and they arrived on Tuesday. Impressive, if you live in the middle of Nevada like I do! Mounted the tires the same day and put them to the test. I took them Mountain climbing and I was very impressed with the traction. Yes, they cost a little more than some of the others brands but well worth it! I will be purchasing another set set soon for my other ATV.
These are the best tires ive ever ran I like them cause I do alot of road riding and off road both and the are awsome for both smooth and wear good on the road and are just awesome off road dig really good
I’ve had the Maxxis Bighorns on another machine and couldn’t wait to wear down my stock tires on my new Polaris so could ride with them again! All I can say is that they are the best tire I have found. My friend also bought a set and love them,
Tons of traction with these tires, I got roughly 2500 miles on the last set in the rear with a generous amount of road riding. Great bite in corners and in mud.
The bighorn tire is the only tire I will run on my racecar. I have been racing the WORCS series for 3yrs now and have not found a tire that compares. It works great on pretty much any track surface there is. I also run the bighorn on my recreational RZR because once again its versatile on almost all terrains.
I spent many weeks researching replacement tires for my 2016 Honda Pioneer 500. I finally decided on the original Maxxis Bighorns and am totally pleased with them. The ride is amazingly smooth, traction is great, and tread life seems to be really good. RMATV is great to deal with and I will definitely be a return customer!
I put a full set of the original Big Horns on our 2014 RZR XP 4 1000. We ride mainly logging trails with the occasional creek crossing and the wife takes the kids to school in it several times during the spring and early fall. Put on over 2500 miles on the set and the rears are at about 30% and the fronts are about 40%. Will be replacing these soon and going to the same size tire at all four corner of the machine. Hoping to get even more miles out of the next set by being able to rotate them. Good all around tire for trails, mud and even the dunes.
Although it's not the cheapest tire on the market, it's a great choice for all around riding. I've use these tires for around 4 years in all types of riding conditions. From mud to rock or sand and trial, they have never let me down. I currently have them mounted on a 2014 Polaris RZR XP 900.
I prefer the more truck like tread on other tires.
Can’t say I’m really wild about these tires. They came stock on my 2017 Rzr XP 1000. I had a nice size gash in a back tire with only about 500 mi. on them. We managed to get some plugs in it to get us home, but ultimately the tire had to be trashed. I’m not a real aggressive type driver, but sometimes push it just a little on familiar ground. The gash was between those huge tractor like lugs. I always wondered if that was ever a problem. I also have a 2012 Rzr 800 4 that I put on Tusk Terrabites a while back, and now I’m actually almost anxious for the Bighorn tires to wear out so I can get the Terrabites on or similar. The Terrabites are also 8 ply vs the 6 ply Bighorns. I like the tread style much better on the Terrabites and feel more secure with having 8 ply as well. I run in the desert with all kinds of conditions except mud etc. I also feel the Terrabites don’t ride any stiffer with the 8 plus, but that is just an impression.
-m-2017 POLARIS RANGER RZR XP 1000--
I prefer the style on the red Rzr. The Terrabites do seem to throw more stones in the car.
Bought a set to replace my stock tires. What a difference these make. When cornering with the stock tires I could feel them roll a bit. The big horns don't give you that roll feeling at all! They also added an 1 inch plus to the height. I can't say anything about wear but they grab in everything I have put them through so far. Limited mud, gravel and lots of rocks! Great tires!
I’ve only had mine for two weeks but by far that best utility atv tires I’ve ever bought! Handle great and get you through everything you need to get through. Awesome in mud, snow and ride smooth on hard pan gravel roads and rocks. And don’t tear up your lawn. Great service from Rocky Mountain atv too. Got my tires within three days of ordering them and free shipping!
After my first weekend with these tires I did over 80+miles of pretty rough PA terrain they performed flawlessly. This is my first utility Atv and Bighorns were a great choice for all the terrains I've covered. Of course the guys with mud tires out performed in the mud but overall these were awesome.
I bought my RZR used (1 year old and 1,000 miles) and have punished them hard in the woods and in the Rockies. Never a flat or failure to handle the terrain. I anticipate I will need to replace them in another year or two. I think 4-5 years of punishment is a good indicator of quality.
I have purchased several sets of bighorn tires one set went 7,000 miles. But the 25 /10/12" tires on my last two sets have been terrible the first set cracked on the inside of tire near the edge of the tread and started leaking air they had over 60% of tread left. The last set cracked on inside like the other set then starting cracking on outside between lugs had to insert two plugs in one tire crack then a week later had to install two more plugs in another crack. tires have always been at 10 to 12 psi and kept in an enclosed garage. Front tires 25/8/12 never have any problems. I have recommended these tires to several people but not no more. I will never buy Bighorn tires again...
Great all around tire That's why is the standar equipment on all new Mavericks X3 I tried it on hard pack, loose gravel and performed very well No flat tires
The original big horns are still the best for rocks and sand that you find in moab. They may not corner as well on gravel but it is amazing how much better the traction is when the trails get fun.
I purchased 2 replacement rear tires for my 2016 Polaris RZR XP4 1000 from Rocky Mountain due to their prices. They were the lowest price on the internet that offered free shipping. I will definitely purchase tires from them again in the future.
Bought these on the recommendation of another ATV club member. She had 8000 miles on hers, and only quit using them when she traded in her machine on a new one. Mud, rocks, trail and snow all superior. We ride on Forest Service roads some and the do tend to drift a little at 20+ MPH, but just takes some getting used to, nothing radical.
I have nearly 900 miles on these so far, and they look new. I wish I had bought these the last time, I only got 3000 miles from my last tires, looks like I'll get much more from these.
these tires are awesome, this is my second set of maxxis bighorns and as usual they don't disappoint. they hook up in all types of terrain with a smooth ride.

Is there a formula for going up a size in tire on a utv?
A shopper
on Nov 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER:There is no formula for increasing tire size, but you'll want to make sure you have the clearance for a larger tire when the suspension is compressed and the wheels are turned.

What is the correct tire pressure for 25x10 R12 tires?
A shopper
on Apr 30, 2017
BEST ANSWER:Depending on what you have them on and their use. When I called Maxxis they said approx. 7# or what the atv or SxS manufacturer recommends. I run mine in the 5 lb range. If I was riding rocky areas I would run higher to protect the rims and the tire side walls.

500-800lb atvs I recommend 7lbs for most terrain, 5lbs in snow/mud. Also buy yourself a GOOD low pressure tire gauge -1lb can make a huge difference in performance, remember to experiment -non of this is "carved in stone"
We keep lower pressure in our tires for the rock terrain we ride in Arizona. I usually run 10 in front and 12 in back. My tires are the 29 inch size on a xp 1000.
The bighorns are great on the pavement. They will last a lot longer then the blackwaters. I have a crew cab ranger with the bighorns. Great tires you will not be disappointed. Good luck buddy
I run these on my RZR, they are excellent in dirt, mud, trail, and even rock scramble. Pavement is a detriment to the tread life, takes a lot of life from the tire.
The maxxis bighorn is a great all around tire. I havent seen much wear at all when driving on pavement. Handles great on either. Exceptional traction off road.
what is the difference between big horn maxxis radial and the big horn maxxis radial 2.0 ? can I install 30x10 14 all 4 corners of my 2016 xp 1000 rzr stock wheels ?
BEST ANSWER:I would not recommend use of the 2.0 tires on a RzR. The 2.0 tires are a thinner ply tire. Also, the size of the lugs on the 2.0 are a narrower width. I and many of my friends use the maxxis tire. I have them on my quad and on my RzR. My friend accidentally ordered the 2.0 tire. There is a big difference between the 2.0 and the regular radial. I would stay away from the 2.0. Big Horns are a greater tire.

Big horn 2’s or a more flemisly tire Jim. You CANNOT go wrong with the original bighorn. They are a little pricy but you’ll fall in love with them and never run anything different again.. as far as the tire size, I ran that exact same on my 14’ xp 900 with no rubbing issues at all.. I’m certain the 100 Dp will be the same considering it’s a bigger buggy
The maxis bighorns 2.0 weigh less and have smaller lugs, I would stick with the regular bighorns for a utv, if your machine came stock with 29s then yes, might rub a little on full turn with heavy breaking (suspension squats down)
BEST ANSWER:Should fit w/ no problems. Measure distance from inside edge of your tire to closest body and frame parts and if it is more than 1" from your stock tire they should fit fine.

BEST ANSWER:These tires have a very aggressive tread and they wear like iron! I cannot give you a tread depth that is accurate because mine are partially worn down! Almost a full inch. They are great in snow and mud. I had a set on another ATV I sold for four years and I never could wear them out. I will buy them again when the time comes!

I have a 2014 Yamaha Viking. I am looking at the big horns. I plan on doing a 2" lift on the Viking. What are the largest tires I can run? I was thinking of 27's. What about on a stock viking? Can you fit 27s or are 26s the largest you can run with a stock viking?
BEST ANSWER:I can answer you questions about the lift or tire size, but this is an absolutely awesome tire! Great traction in the desert and the forest and very tough.

BEST ANSWER:No they won't fit, the polaris xp900 wheel size is 25x10-12 front and 25x11-12 rear. The Maxxis Bighorn I bought to fit my RZR xp1000 are 29x11-14. You should be able to order your size. Hope this helps.

Which Maxxis Bighorn size(s) are suitable to replace OEM Can Am Maverick trail tires, sizes 26x8x12 Front, 29x9x912 Rear, retaining the stock 6-inch rims?
BEST ANSWER:I believe you might want to double check the rear size you have listed, I'm thinking it should be 26x9x12. If that is the case you can put 26x9x12 on both front and the rear.

BEST ANSWER:Hi Matt... I don’t know about your fit issues but you will love the Maxxis Bighorn tires. They are the best mud/utility tires that I have owned in 25 years.

BEST ANSWER:I have the Tusk on my four wheeler and Bighorns on my Razor. The Tusk tires are very comparable to the Bighorns. The Tusk tires are a little stiffer tread though which may be because the tread pattern is closer together. I think the Bighorns are a smoother ride due to having more sidewall. Traction wise, I think they are the same. The cost difference may or may not make the decision for you.

BEST ANSWER:I have a 2015 Rzr 900xc that came stock with 27" all the way around. I switched to the 29" all the way around and I had adjust the shock height accordingly but it works out fine. Mine is the 55" machine so I have a much higher chance of rubbing than you do. Also, my buddy has a 1000xp turbo and he's running the 29"s all around with no issues.

I have a 2011 Can Am outlander 650. Stock tire sizes are 26x8-12 in the front and 26x10-12 in the back. Any experience mounting 26x9-12 Maxxis Bighorn tires on the front and 26x12-12 on the rear? Will they fit? I've seen conflicting reports if they'll fit, specifically the front tires potentially rubbing on the tie rod ends. Thanks.
will the 26x9x12 front, and 26x12x12 rear tires fit the stock wheels on 2016 Yamaha Grizzly 700? I am concerned if the stock wheels are wide enough to accomodate the wider than stock tires
