I think we’ll be just okay
Starting wearing quick, but it grabs. Muddy, sandy, slow- where it works best

My new go to tire.
It’s a golden tire for a fraction of the price. Ran the 505 cheater in Moab, Utah and I don’t think I broke traction once. For the wet sloppy riding here in the PNW, the 525 Cheater is the way to go, traction for days.

Good Traction / Horrible Tread Life
It’s an okay tire... unfortunately it is the softest compound I have felt. For the terrain here in AZ, it’s rocky and dry so it just ate the tire up in a day. I have about 25% tread left with a few chunks gone after a 60 mile race. However, traction is some of the best. Was able to crawl up some soft silty hills at points. Won’t purchase again because unfortunately for me, $65 every race is a bit much so a harder compound suits my riding better.

By far my favorite tires
These tires have become my favorite and I love the way they grip on. They wear pretty well and last a lot longer than expected with such a soft compound.

Great Traction!
Bought this tire and tried it for Endurocross. I found that it worked really good in slippery rocks and logs. I decided to leave it on and have ran it in a variety of terrain including EX, rocky singletrack, wet PNW trails, desert, sand, and MX. Even when the tire starts to wear down the knobs are so gummy that traction is still decent. Will definitely buy again!

i love this tire!
This is my 5th shinko 525 tire and i plan to keep using them. Not only do i love the performance of the tire but its price. It also lasts surprisingly long for the softness of the tread feel. money to performance ratio is BEST

All around tire
This is a nice all around tire. It works well in a variety of conditions from wet to dry. It will wear faster in the dry but still it does pretty well for as soft as it is.

Super traction
Excellent excellent traction on rocks, mud, and loose dirt. Super soft and flex awesome. Soaks up the rocks and adds some suspension to the ride. With them being soft, they will cut and sometimes rip anlug off if you get hung up in the rocks and just keep hammering on it. Keep that in mind. But the super traction makes the soft compound a easy trade off for my riding conditions. I will nuy this tire again.

Amazing traction but quick wear
I have ran a ton of these tires on my xcf 450 and xc 300 and have close to 80hrs of time running these tires. Before i start a long review know that these tires get amazing traction but do wear very quickly. First i will start with the pros of this tire. I love the traction the shinko 525 gives in any terrain and handles extremely well when paired with a bridgestone m59 on the front. so far i have run the tire with tubes at 13 psi and with nitro bibs and still had great traction besause the tire is so soft and gummy. Tire cleans mud out of the tread patteren well. Cons the tire wears quickly when used at very high speed races. Tire also starts tearing and ripping chuncks off once it sees a few hrs abuse. all in all i love this tire and run it for racing because the amazing traction is worth the quick wear and i just run the used ones in summer time when im not racing.

Shinko cheater
My traction improved 1000% after using this tire in combination with the Tubliss system to run lower tire pressure in muddy single track in Ohio. The treads do some serious wear after just 2 hours of ride time. If it continues to break down like this, I’m not sure if I will be able to justify buying it again

BEST ANSWER: I do not believe it is
How much height does the 525 raise the rear of the bike? Did you need to compensate for it?
A shopper on Mar 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You're thinking about this way too much lol... bikes comes stock with 110/100-18 ... that's 26.7" diameter... my 525 is a 120/100-18 ... that's a 27.4" diameter... 27.4 minus 26.7, you get .7" ... cut that in half for height difference (radius, not diameter) you get .35" ... I don't know about you but for me in not going to feel the extra .35" difference
My dear tire is 120/90/18. But the closest size I can find in the cheater tire is 120/100/18. Will this work or fit my rim? Any input is helpful. Thx.
Clarence L on May 13, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The number 100 is referring to the aspect ratio. Which means the height of the tire is equivalent to the width of the tire. I know the 505 cheater has a tendency to try to come around you on steep and loose downhills. Does the 525 cheater have this same problem?
Kelly V on Feb 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Never had a problem with cheater 505 coming out on steep hills I run tubliss at 5lbs I bought the 525 for Mud and deep sand where it shines more over the 505
What is the overall width of the 110/100x18 tire?
Chris R on May 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The width is the first number in the size, so 110. Its in mm; to convert mm to inches, take 110mm divid by 24.5; gives you 4.331 inches wide.
