    Amazing traction but quick wear
I have ran a ton of these tires on my xcf 450 and xc 300 and have close to 80hrs of time running these tires. Before i start a long review know that these tires get amazing traction but do wear very quickly. First i will start with the pros of this tire. I love the traction the shinko 525 gives in any terrain and handles extremely well when paired with a bridgestone m59 on the front. so far i have run the tire with tubes at 13 psi and with nitro bibs and still had great traction besause the tire is so soft and gummy. Tire cleans mud out of the tread patteren well. Cons the tire wears quickly when used at very high speed races. Tire also starts tearing and ripping chuncks off once it sees a few hrs abuse. all in all i love this tire and run it for racing because the amazing traction is worth the quick wear and i just run the used ones in summer time when im not racing.

My traction improved 1000% after using this tire in combination with the Tubliss system to run lower tire pressure in muddy single track in Ohio. The treads do some serious wear after just 2 hours of ride time. If it continues to break down like this, I’m not sure if I will be able to justify buying it again

    Great tubliss option
I run it at 3-5 psi using the tubliss system. Hooks up great in all conditions, but doesn't last quite as long as the 505 on hardpack, but still gets 90% of the grip in slick rocks and hardpack as the 505. but is 100% better on everything else.

I'm on my 3rd or 4th of this tire between a 300 xcw and a WR250R. I like to run the 110 size for lighter weight then let the low psi give it the bigger footprint

    Incredible Traction
Bought this for my 300 about a year ago and WHOA is it good. Rocks, roots, wet or dry. The enemy of this tire is wheel spin. This is my 2nd tire since I bought another bike. Highly recommend for single track.

I've only had this tire for one weekend and 37 miles but it was mostly rocky and hardpacked ground. Shows some wear but I think it is going to be a good tire. Check back after I have a few hundred miles on it.

    Great tire, great value!
Ive used this tire on my WR 450 and my KTM 300 6 days and it works great on both bikes. Better life on the 2 stroke but that's expected. I'd definitely use again on both bikes.

Great tire and great traction. The open lug compared to the 505 helps in the sandy washes. Really hooks up in the rocks.
So far better than the Shinko 525 for the Arizona rocks and desert riding. Great traction!

    Cheater is cheating
This tire is named appropriately as the traction is so good on rocks and roots it really does feel like you are cheating!

Great tire for nasty singletrack and rock/tree obstacles.
For the price you cant go wrong if you want all the traction you can handle, matching Nitro Mousse and hold on.

I know the 505 cheater has a tendency to try to come around you on steep and loose downhills. Does the 525 cheater have this same problem?
    Kelly V on Feb 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Never had a problem with cheater 505 coming out on steep hills I run tubliss at 5lbs I bought the 525 for Mud and deep sand where it shines more over the 505
How much height does the 525 raise the rear of the bike? Did you need to compensate for it?
    A shopper on Mar 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You're thinking about this way too much lol... bikes comes stock with 110/100-18 ... that's 26.7" diameter... my 525 is a 120/100-18 ... that's a 27.4" diameter... 27.4 minus 26.7, you get .7" ... cut that in half for height difference (radius, not diameter) you get .35" ... I don't know about you but for me in not going to feel the extra .35" difference
