Well worth the $$$
Great looking and performing hub/spoke/wheel combo. Can’t beat the value you get for your money on them either.

Shiny!
Bought these for two reason, first off, I bought my yamaha used, and the previous owner had a serious vendetta against rims. The wheels that came with the bike were toast. Second reason is I wanted to put an 18" rear on an MX bike, because i'm that guy. I ride a 450 MX bike in technically single track and open desert in New Mexico. I feel that putting on an 18" rear allowed me to put a tire on that allowed me to get a larger contact patch in all conditions, I don't corner fast enough to complain about sidewall roll in high speed corners. I do know that these wheels changed the way this bike feels for the better. The tusk wheel set is priced very well, and if i didn't have these as an option i'm not sure i would have sprung for warp 9 or any other more expensive wheel sets. I've rocketed off quite a few rocks with these wheels and so far don't have any dings. They feel very well built, and look pretty to boot. The only down side i see with this wheel set (not that it changes my mind on them) is they seem to be heavier than other more expensive wheel sets, and since i spoon on my own wheels I never got to ride on this wheel set while they were not scratched (probably operator error and less downside on the build quality) But the paint did seem to scratch easily. Other than those small complaints, these wheels are pretty awesome. I'll have to report later on the quality of the bearings as i do not have nearly enough hours on them to say anything.

Major issue with spokes
The wheels look great and do the job , but every ride i have to change spokes .... I'm using Tusk spoke tool for the best tightening , but those spokes are terrible . From my last ride yesterday one spoke broke while i was on the track and scratch my hub and left a long line on it ....
I'll have to order now OEM spokes for my KTM and swap them .....

Look nice! Heavy duty spokes
I love em, they are a bit heavier than stock but they look and Feel so much stronger. I recommend buying a torque wrench for the spokes. After mounting tires and the mouuse. I went back thru the spokes to find a few just out of spec.

Dissapointing a year later
I bought the white/black wheels for my YZ250. I've owned these wheels for 1 year and have probably ridden with them 15 or so times.

I ride trails and have tubliss setup since day one. I'm a fairly aggressive single track rider but don't race and am careful with my gear. I'm running Kenda Parker DT's.

The first thing that happened is that the powder coat chipped and scratched like crazy when installing the tires. I was careful but still disappointed to see how thin the powder coat was. I just thought it was me then I start riding with them...and it got worse.

Whole parts of the spoke are now missing powder coat and the rims look pretty beat up. My take is that the powder coating on the spokes and rims are too delicate for off road use. I'd also describe the rims as softer than the stock ones they replaced. I have a few decent dings in the rims where I went years with Excel rims and never had an issue.

My advice would be to save your money and buy something more durable as I don't have a lot of faith that these will last very long. If you are willing to take the risk, are less aggressive or a track rider they will probably hold out fine. I'd buy the anodized as you wouldn't have to deal with the powder coat issue.

I was wondering if this acerbis x-brake cover mounting kit can fit on the tusk impact front hub?

Acerbis X-Brake/Spider Evolution Disc Cover Mounting Kit
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they will work together.
What size spoke wrench is required to tighten the spokes?
Juan T on Oct 20, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The 6.6mm. I had to very lightly file the the inside of the wrench head on the Tusk spoke torque wrench to fit perfect. It was just a hair too tight, otherwise, the next size up had play and I didn't want to strip the nipple.
You show same part number for a 2018 YZ250F as a 2018 YZ125. Are they interchangeable as I thought they had different size axles? OEM hubs are different from the 2 strokes vs 4 strokes.
Richard Y on Apr 10, 2019
BEST ANSWER: The axle does not ride on the bearings for this wheel. They are manufactured for the axle to ride on the spacers. This helps with bearing life and fitment between machines. It will just come with 2 sets of spacers and you will need to use the ones that you are instructed to use for your machine.
Does it use OEM spacers and seals ?
JEFF H on Sep 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: My tusk kit came with multiple sets of spacers to fit many models and were all marked for the model year that they would fit. Very easy install! My brother also bought a set for his Yamaha and it was the same situation. Spacers were sent for a bunch of different model yamaha's. Pretty cool because they could be swapped to other models.
Do I have to buy new rim locks for these rim or do the come with them??
Darren D on Feb 13, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They do not come with rim-locks or rim wraps. I've had two sets of these and they are unbeatable. You can clean up your stock rim-locks or spring for a set from Motion Pro on RMATV.

Don't forget about front and rear rotors, the bolts to hold them on, rear sprocket and those hold down bolts too.

You definitely made a good choice with these rims.

Good luck!!

What are the spoke nipples made from? Aluminum?
Keith B on Aug 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These are steel thank you for your question.
How well does the black on the rim hold up?
A shopper on Apr 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I’ve had a set for a few years now. It holds up quite well. They are a little scratched around the from tire changes but that’s it.
Do these hubs use stock size bearings for bearing replacement? Also, I have a set of wheels for my 2015 yz250, can I buy a set of stock bearings for my 2015 yz450f so they will fit the 450 or won't that work?
Brian W on Nov 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes they use stock bearings. Quite a nice wheel set, btw. They come with several sets of spacers for different years, etc, so you will be good to go.
Will I have any problems using the factory speedometer for my 03 ktm Exc 450 with this wheel set?
allan b on Feb 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Most bikes speedo magnet is on the front rotor. You will need to buy a front brake rotor that is for your bike and has a speedo magnet slot in it. Assuming you are planning on keeping your old rims you will need to purchase a new magnet and clip along with new rotor. If you are replacing your old rims and they are OEM the front rotor should work with the TUSK wheels hubs.
I have a 2017 Yamaha yz125 that has a stock rear rim size of 19 x 1.85. Will a 19 x 2.15 fit this bike with out any clearance issues, truing issues, or anything of the sort? It displays as a match to my bike on here, I just want to make sure there wont be issues with a wider rim.
Blake D on Jul 21, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yep, they’ll work fine, they’ll just weigh slightly more than stock wheels but can mount tires that are wider, you just have to keep it reasonable as you’re on a 125.
Hoping someone knows the actual weight of the wheels individually as you would receive them? Thank you!
A shopper on Mar 7, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I would be happy to look into this for you. What is the year, make and model for your machine?
Does the OEM sprocket and rotor mount to the hubs?
Chris K on Oct 1, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes,OEM bolts on perfectly. I've been using mine for a couple years,no problems. Spokes have never loosened, bearings have held up fine. I ride harescrambles and beat my ride hard.
Do these wheel sets come with the bolts to mount the discs?
Joshua T on Jan 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. You have to use the originals or buy another set.
Do these rims come fully assembled?
Kyle B on Aug 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they are fully assembled...make sure to check the spokes after a couple of rides
Do these wheels come all trued up?
paul w on Feb 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes! I bought these For my KX450F after a big crash on a sand track and needed to replace my rims. I was skeptical at first but everyone's reviews were awesome! Direct bolt on. Really loved these wheels looked awesome and yes they rode straight with no wobble or issues. Even at 90+ MPH these wheels seemed really smooth without any wobble. Defiantly recommend these wheels only tightened up a couple spokes after 3 years of using them!
Are the spokes the same size as the stock wheels or are they oversized?
aaron j on Mar 17, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Same size as stock as I can remember. Good wheels. Never had any problems. Just tighten spokes with torque wrench after first few rides.
Are these any better than kke wheels? I found a new set for 200 dollars less and not seeing a big difference both made from same kind of aluminum? Thanks in advanced
A shopper on Mar 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Im not sure what the brand kke wheels, but I have purchased plenty of the top brand wheels and the TUSK set I bought have held up amazing. I ride pro/expert classes and have zero complaints with my wheels on my KTM they have held up great and broke in with just a couple spoke tighten adjustments just like all new wheels require. I'd buy them again in a heartbeat you cant beat the price. Tusk brake rotors are great as well same as other top brands and look factory for a third of the price!
I will be putting these on a 2018 CRF250R. Is there anything extra I will need or will they just go right on using all my old hardware?
Robbie S on Mar 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I have a 2002 CR250R. The wheels came with nice looking anodized spacers in black. I used the original axle, washer and nut on the front and original axle, axle blocks, washer and nut on the rear. I didn't have to replace any mounting hardware. Even though I installed new brake rotors and sprocket, I'm sure the original parts would've bolted right up also.

I would definitely purchase these again if needed. Good luck!
I SEE THAT OTHER WHEEL CO USE LIKE SAY SKF BEARINGS, I KNOW THOSE TOP QUAILITY
WHAT MANUF BRAND DO YOU USE ?
A shopper on Oct 31, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These will use tusk wheel bearings. I’ve used them before and they hold up pretty decent. Easy enough to swap out and put in whatever you want in the future. Can’t beat these wheels for the price of others. Look awesome too
Could i run these wheels in an AMA stock class or would it be a mod class wheel?
Mike G on Sep 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don’t think u would get in touble on the wheel for an ama but the only way to be sure is to contact the ama association. Because u are not adding anything that would give u an edge as in more horse power
Have a 2009 KX450f. Do I need a new front rotor & wheel spacers?
Devin O on Jun 28, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My wheel set came with the spacers, actually 2 to choose from due to year model differences-Great set of wheels
What's the tire size?
A shopper on Jun 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: These do not come with tires on them....complete meaning rims, spokes and hub complete with bearings and seals....no tires are included. Hope that helped!
What are the torque specs for tightening the brake rotor to the hub?
JAMES C on Mar 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Same as the factory recommendations which is typically 42-45 ft pounds!
Is it possible to get different color hubs then just what pops up when you search for your bike?
ETHAN K on Jan 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They only offer colors in drop down box.
You would have to order custom wheels from somewhere else if you want more choices
I have a 2003 YAMAHA WR250F, the rear wheel is a OEM size of 18 x 1.85, with a new 100 / 100 - 18 tire, can I still use the tire?
Bruno D on Aug 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes I would think a 18 inch tire will fit on a 18 inch rim. I purchased a set of wheels for my YZ250. I am very happy with the way they look .
I have a 2006 crf450x.. the only option that comes up is 2006 crf450r. Will these wheels fit my x?
parker b on Jan 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: They will work, though you might specify an 18 inch rear wheel for that 450x. I have a set on these on an Aluminum Frame conversion CR 500, with the 18 rear. They have 30 hours of above average Enduro stuff on them and I have never had to tighten a spoke. The rims and hubs look outstanding. Very good product.
Are wheels powdercoated or painted?
David Y on Feb 28, 2020
BEST ANSWER: I’m no genius but seeing as the paint is scratched relatively easily (during tire install), I’d say painted. Powered coating would be a little more durable. Still, no complaints! Very nice wheels!!
I don't want to use any of my stock parts on these wheels (including bolts), what else would I need to order? My goal is have a completely ready to go set of wheels for the sand and one for dirt. (2018 KTM 450 XC-F)
Bradley S on Nov 24, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You’ll need to get a brake rotor and bolts for front and rear. A sprocket and bolts for the rear. You’ll need rim strips and rim locks for both. Obviously you’ll need tubes, assuming you’re not running tubliss. It comes with seals and bearings, but it doesn’t come with collars. You can use the collars off your other set, or buy a new set for these. I think that covers it.
do These fit dual sport tires?
kenny e on Jul 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: If your tires are the right size for the rim, then yes they will fit!
I bought the tusk 18" 2.15. Rim what size tire does it take?
Shane S on Jun 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Not sure exactly I know different brands could have the same size written on them but are actually not even close to the same size
I run maxxis and they are 120/100/18 and it’s a nice tire big side wall
