Arrived in two days, wow! Perfect condition, great performance
I bought these tires after my stock tires on a Pioneer 1000-5, one of them got a flat in rocky terrain and the other one I pinched on a narrow trail causing it to go flat. Both flats were slow, but these new tires are amazing. Perfect so far. Been through the sandy desert, rocky mountain, and some water. Highly recommended and did a say the tires arrived in two days with normal shipping....wow!

Great on trail but only at slow speeds
We ride in W. Va. and to get to our trails have to take asphalt and some hard pack dirt/gravel. While these tires are great on the trails the fact that they are poorly made is very apparent and almost scary on my Maverick Trail. At speeds of 40 mph and up they have a dangerous wobble. I took them to a tire dealer who put them on his balancer and it was obvious one tire was shaped almost like an egg while the others needed more than a pound of weight each added to achieve some resemblance of balance. If you are riding only trails at slow speed these are fine and the traction is great but if you are on gravel or asphalt I do not recommend. After one trip to Hatfield these are coming off.

Great Ranch UTV Option
Needed replacement tires for our diesel ranch UTV (Club Car XRT 1550). It's 1,750 lbs with a 2000lb towing capacity so I needed something heavy duty. The stock Carlisle tires didn't last a week on the ranch with coyote brush stumps and star thistle.

No such issues with these. Solid performance in the mud, sand, and on the gravel roads. I can't speak to high speed performance as we top out at 28 mph, but they're solid as can be at that speed.

I've towed a heavy dump trailer with them and had no squishiness are unusual performance. They're barely worn after several months. Highly recommended for Kubota type ranch UTVs.

Weak sidewalls
These tires might be OK for casual use, but no way should they be rated 8 ply. The sidewalls are more like 2 ply. I had a sidewall puncture in the first day of use! Now I'm stuck either replacing all 4 or living with a set of weak tires - no way is it worth saving a few bucks.

Good tire for the price but if you order the 27 in they will only be 25.5 inches tall
Tires have nice tread that gives a good grip. On hard pack and mud an snow ride is a little ruff on pavement but can be expected on a 8ply
Have not had them on long so wear it yet to be seen

Great tires, they are diggers they seem not to float over the snow, rather dig to the bottom.

Do yourself a favor, read my review before you order.
The tires are amazing but beware of ordering your stock sizes. DO NOT order these tires without first speaking with the tech team if you want true to size tires! The sizes are based on sidewall height, not overall tread height. These are very flat across the tread surface which should be awesome for traction, but shortens the overall height and could greatly affect your gearing and ground clearance. The 25" tires only measure 23 1/4" tall, the 26" measure 24 3/8", and the 27" measure 25 1/2" tall (per the specs from the RMATV technical support). I included two photos next to the original Carlisle tires that shows the difference in sizing. On the actual tires themselves... I'm running 5 PSI and the tires aren't even distorting their shape. This would be a 5 star review if the sizing discrepancy would've been more transparent upfront.

-m-ATV--
Carlisle 25x8-12. 25" TriloBite are about 2" shorter. You need 27" if you want to keep same profile.

What is the weight of the 29x9x14?
Akraad H on May 18, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This tire weighs approximately 21 pounds.
Anyone have these on a 450 foreman?
A shopper on Nov 24, 2017
I hear the Tusk Trilobite measures on the small side. A review indicated the Maxxis Bighorn 25" is comparable to the Tusk Trilobite 26". Is that true?
A shopper on Oct 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't know in that size but I just bought the Trilobite in the 25" and it measures 24". So I would say they run small. Still a sweet tire. I love them. They really grip.
What is the load rating for 26x10x12?

How mutch do the 26 /10 /12s weigh?

Are these tires radial or bias ply?
DONALD E on Mar 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: These are Bias Ply tires.
Can these tires be mounted in either direction?
Donald S on Dec 9, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes. They are not a directional tire.
Is the Tusk Trilobite HD a radial like Maxxis Bighorn?
Mike M on Jul 22, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I bought these tires after using several sets of Maxxis Bighorns and outside of weighing a few pounds more I found no difference. They give pretty much the same performance for less money.
How accurate is the sizing on these? Looking for a spare for my 2019 yxz.
A shopper on Dec 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: the size is pretty accurate I like them
How do these tires compare to bighorn Maxxis tires? Quality, longevity, ride?

Tusk TriloBite® HD 8-Ply Tire
Maxxis Bighorn Radial Tire
Maxxis Bighorn Radial Tire
BEST ANSWER: I have the Tusk on my four wheeler and Bighorns on my Razor. The Tusk tires are very comparable to the Bighorns. The Tusk tires are a little stiffer tread though which may be because the tread pattern is closer together. I think the Bighorns are a smoother ride due to having more sidewall. Traction wise, I think they are the same. The cost difference may or may not make the decision for you.
I have a 2012 grizzly 700 with stock rims. The front is a 25x8-12 and the rear is a 25x10-12. I would like to go one size larger than the stock tires. Can I do a 26x9-12 on the front as it doesn't look like a 26x8-12 is available. and a 26x10-12 on the rear?
Mark W on Oct 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You should be able to do that.. I ordered 25x8’s and 25x10’s for my Rubicon with the Steel ITP wheel. They are wider than factory, making a (roughly) 2” wider footprint overall. I would be weary of a clearance issue with a taller tire on a stock quad. Just my 2 cents. This is an awesome tire.
i have bighorns on the front and can i run the tusk trilo 8 ply bias ply on the rear?
Richard C on Sep 27, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes if they are the same height
How do these hold up up on rocky terrain ? I have a lot of land in the mountains and 75% of my riding is on small rocks.
A shopper on Jul 25, 2019
BEST ANSWER: A majority of my riding/use is very sharp rocky terrain and conditions. I have had no issues with either set that I have installed on a Yamaha Rhino or Honda Rancher. The only exception is on sidewall tear, but that was an unavoidable issue on my part... I would not hesitate to suggest these or purchase again.
I'm looking for tires for my '15 Polaris 900 4 ...I want a quieter highway tire. What do you suggest. ?
Bob F on Nov 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I don't suggest these tusk trilobite they don't hold up good on highway riding I suggest gbc Kanati mongrel they are good for highway driving got a lot of tread on mine and a lot of pavement riding on them!
will 27x9-14 fit 26x9-14?
Robert G on Jun 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It should. The first number is overall height of tire, the second is width of tire and third is rim size. So the 27 is just and inch taller than the 26. So if your tire size is currently the 27 and you are looking at putting on the 26 they should fit. If you have the 26 and are looking at going with the 27, you may want to check to see if they will clear in the wheel well. You can call a dealer and tell them what bike you have and they can tell you what size is stock size for your bike and how much bigger tire size you can go without doing any mods like a lift kit. I am sure Rocky Mountain ATV can tell you the same info. Going with a bigger tire size gives a little more ground clearance but make sure it will fit. You might run into rubbing issues especially on the front tires when you turn tight. Example, could rub frame or shock or spring when turing all the way. These tires are awesome! I love them. I would buy them again in a second.
Can I put a 25x8-12 tire on a 8” rim?
Ayden W on May 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: WHAT ARE YOU RIDING ? Tusk TriloBite HD 8-Ply Tire 25x8-12 fits 8" width
Part# 1722180001 - If you are referring to the width as (8), then yes - You can have rims put on as a package - usually a good deal even for the better rims - look up the rim sizes available in Rocky Mountain ATV/MC packages and compare to the rims you already have - plug in your machine & it will automatically tell you what rims they would recommend - Good Luck
What is the tread depth ?
John on Apr 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The tread depth on mine are 3/4". I have the 25s on my atv. The description on mine said 3/4" and that is what they are. Very great tire. I love them.
For a 2-seater Can-Am X3 turbo in the neighborhood of 1700 lbs + driver/passenger what is the recommended tire pressure for hard trail riding in the mountains on 29x9x14/29/11/14? For reference my 28" 6-ply bighorns I was 12-14 psi. Thanks.
A shopper on Apr 27, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Ran the Tusk TriloBites on a RZR 900-4xp between 10 & 12 lbs, rocky AZ desert and mountains. Also ran the Bighorns at 10 & 12 lbs. The 8 ply Tusk sidewall didn't seem to make the ride any rougher and the group I ride with doesn't go very slow to often. I personally like both brands and have had great ridding with both brands. My x3 rc came with Maxxis Liberty and I wouldn't buy those at any price. Start at 14 and drop it to 12. You probably won't feel the difference except when driving up those rocky hills.
How are these tires in the snow and for plowing?
Don M on Dec 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I’ve used them both on my Kawasaki Teryx 4 and RZR 1000S and they perform well in the snow. For plowing with my T4 it’s an excellent tire that grips well in heavy packed snow as well as moderately packed snow. As for trail riding and some mud and rock crawling, awesome. Beat all around tire I’ve bought!
When installing these tire does it make a difference if I put the yellow and blue lines to the inside or outside? I know they are bidirectional but dont want to install them wrong
A shopper on Sep 26, 2019
BEST ANSWER: cant remember if they had the arrow of direction on them or not. some do some dont. just like white walls it doesnt matter but if they have an arrow of direction follow that
Looking for soft riding tire for Polaris General .... Something softer than stock Coronado's... Which is softer....Maxxis Bighorn.... Carnivores.... Or Trilobite?
Patrick D on Jul 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I am not sure if you are asking for softer rubber or a softer ride all together. If you want a softer ride altogether then get a radial tire, you might also try riding with a little less air pressure in your tires. I have the trilobites, they are a little stiffer on my quad than the previousset but they are also a heavy ply tire. They are awesome, wish I had put them on years ago. They are night and day difference traction wise. Big Horns are great tires.
Air pressure???
A shopper on Mar 14, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Air pressure differs depending on the machine, every tire has a maximum rated pressure but if you run high pressure the tire will balloon causing only the center of the tire to hit the surface of the trail. Running a lower pressure will flatten the tire more resulting in better grip, however not enough pressure will cause the tire to spin on the rim genraly resulting with a flat tire. So you have to find that happy number for your machine, 8 psi to about 20psi should a good range
WHAT ARE THE EXACT SPECS ON 27 X 9 X 14 AND 27 X 11 X 14 ? LOOKING FOR HEIGHT AND WIDTH.
Ryan D on Aug 15, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The exact height can vary a little depending on the width of the rim, if you have a rim a lot more narrow than the tire it could allow the tire to swell out in the middle of the tread, a wider rim will slow it to stay true to size I ordered 29x9x14 for front and 29x11x14 in rear and mine were running about 29.5 inches in front but the tire only has to wear 1/4 inch to loose 1/2 all the way around, great tire tho great buy I am happy with mine
what is the weight rating on these tires?
A shopper on May 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’m not sure but they’ve done fine on my Polaris sportsman 570 loaded with me (235lbs), my wife (130 let’s say) and maybe 25 lbs of gear. Very durable and excellent traction on sharp rocky terrain mixed with clay mud.
I currently have a 2010 Polaris Ranger 800 crew. I currently have 26/12/12 on the rear factory wheels. Will 26/10/12 work on same wheels?
A shopper on May 24, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Yes, they will work.
What is the mounted diameter of the 26x9-12?
Garry D on Nov 28, 2019

A shopper on Nov 13, 2019
