  It's thin, which is fine when wearing under a helmet. It definitely helps in cold weather. I enjoy wearing this under my helmet when I go ice fishing. Temps from 0F - 30F. Anytime it's warmer than that, I wear my thick Carhartt clava with goggles; I skip the helmet. My helmet is primarily for comfort/warmth, not safety. I don't go fast or far enough to really worry about accidents.
