Nice jacket. If you think you're a large go bigger for layering

I procured the Klim Dakar Jacket and recently and used it on the WABDR. The jacket fits true to size as other Klim jackets. I took the armor from my Klim Latitude and it fit perfectly in the elbows and shoulders. I used my Leatt 4.5 chest and back protector and it also fit well under the jacket. I am 6' tall, weigh 200 lbs., have a 44,5" chest, and ordered an XL. The jacket is well made and ventilation is very good as I rode 95F plus. Negatives: Lack of armor, not waterproof, and the front zipper is hard to get started to zip up. Otherwise, I am extremely happy.

Love it! Great quality at a fair price! As good as the other guys without the name or price!

The material and build quality of the jacket are absolutely superior to most of my other riding jackets, even beyond this price point. It has a durable slide protection and even reinforcements in areas of higher impact areas. The protection is good, and comfortable. The venting is adequate and flows air nicely. It has a water proof coating that I can also appreciate. It's also big enough to leave room for layering underneath. A good thing to because I use a heated jacket for colder weather riding. The downside to the roominess is that it lacks side straps to be able to dial in a better fit around the mid section. It needs it. I wear a 2X because of chest and shoulders, and my stomach is flat. So I have considerable room in the midsection as a result. There is a bunching up of fabric around the inside of the upper forearm. A lot of fabric meets in the location. Seems to be that reinforcements should be shift to be much more under the forearm and elbow.

Very happy with this jacket. There is quite a lot of ventilation with all of the different zippers and the 2 mesh bits in the front. It's super adjustable when it comes to the fit, since you can adjust the fitment around the waist, biceps, and forearm. I'm 5'10" and 210 lbs with a 44" chest. I got an XL and it fits super well, but has plenty of space left to add some layers for cold weather riding. It did need a back protector, and the shape of the pocket for it is quite specific. I did end up getting a Bering Protect Flex Level 2 Omega Back Protector, and it fits perfectly.

I really like this mid layer but who are the sleeves made for? Im 6'4" 240 and got the XL which is just about perfect for a mid layer but the sleeves were a good 3" to 4" too long, went to the local seamstress and adjusted them. So while Im in a little deep on the total cost Im happy with the jacket.
