ATV Jackets

Do you go out riding in the cold? If you do, an ATV jacket is essential. You can’t be comfortable if you’re not warm, and that can put a damper on any ride. There are a lot of options when it comes to a good riding jacket, but it’s important to find one that best suits your needs.

One of the first things to consider is what temperatures you’ll be riding in with your jacket. Do you need something for the brisk fall weather? Or do you need a jacket that can handle the bitter cold of the middle of winter? Not all ATV jackets have the same level of warmth, and you don’t want to end up with something that won’t keep the chills out or that will heat you up too much.

It’s best if you can find something weather resistant. Waterproof is even better. You never know when you might get caught in the rain while out on the trails, and you’ll appreciate something that keeps the water out. Being wet on a cold day is no fun, and even an extra-warm jacket won’t cut it if the water seeps right through to you.

You’ve got to be on guard against water getting in, but you’ve also got to find a way to get water out – sweat. A little sweat can soak poorly designed gear and quickly become uncomfortable. A good jacket is breathable. If you spend a lot of time on your quad in the cold, you might even want to consider investing in a jacket that uses Gore-Tex or a similar material. This allows water out (sweat) without allowing water in (rain or other precipitation).

Finally, there are other things that you might find important, like color options or pocket locations.

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC has a number of excellent ATV jackets that meet a variety of needs. Browse through our selection and pick the one that’s perfect for you.

  • O'Neal Racing Baja Jacket

    Nice fit

Very comfortable and a great conforming fit. Looks nice too. The foam inserts are uncomfortable but are easy to remove. Then you have a great jacket for the low price. For extra warmth I wear a mid-layer jacket on cold days. When I want crash protection I wear my protective gear underneath it. I have one for riding and one for casual wear.

    Great jacket

Love this jacket. Finally got to use it. Cold wet day and it kept me dry and warm. I ride in the desert so there are things that are unforgiving and like to stick and grab you. Nothing stuck. Very happy

Great cold weather versatile jacket at a windbreake...

Finally a quality jacket that?s comfortable while keeping you warm. I also have the Joe Rocket Atomic jacket. It?s a very good below 35° jacket. The problem with jackets like that is, you have to compromise between weight and restriction of movement. This is the perfect above 35° jacket. I can still ride aggressive in it without sacrificing too much mobility. Ergonomically, it?s well proportioned. Zippers are excellent on the vents and pockets and the pockets are easy to find whereas some are placed to far rearward. Venting is at the minimum adequate, but considering the sleeves are removable, I have no complaints. The neck collar is the most comfortable of any I?ve used. Ironically, it covers better than other winter jackets but doesn?t pinch. The stow away pouch for the sleeves or additional storage or even as a water bladder, compliments this well designed jacket. One gripe would be sizing. I?m about Chases size minus 10 lbs. The medium I ordered was more than one size too large. It?s as if their sizing is based on wearing a chest/roost deflector underneath. In no way am I a small but after I returned the medium, Moose small ended up being the closest fit.

Perfect weight of material and I can’t beat the price. Large enough to layer underneath and not to bulky.
