I got this along with the KLX kit and a glass pack. I also did the L mod to the airbox at the same time. it's like a whole other bike. 0-80 is pretty good now and it will break 100. It will go as fast as I want to go on a KLR!
Haven't had it on the bike all that long so I can't speak of longevity or overall value. But I will say that it seems to flow better, is easier than the stock unit to get on and off and fits better with "Skins" than the stock unit. Seals up good.
Yes I would recommend using UNI Air Filters. I like the double foam design, letting the outer filter catch most of the debris while keeping the inner (finer) filter clean for maximum air flow.
I was a skeptic when it came to buying an aftermarket air filter because the factory ones are decent foam filters. I finally broke down and bought one and wish I would have bought it sooner. I've only had it on for this riding season nut it works great. Even more power for an already powerful machine. Also I kept the factory air filter, so it's nice to have a second air filter oiled and ready to go for the next ride.
I have used Uni filters for years. Easy to clean and i get about 10 filter change/cleaning before I replace them. Probably could get more but I don't take chances with dirt getting into intake. Saves money vs buying stock filters every filter change even replacing after 10.
I did the power up upgrade on my 2004 CRF230F and this is the filter that was recommended by so many different people that it was an easy decision. Great price and great filter
I have always used uni filters in all my bikes. Easy to clean, after those really dusty rides I don't see dirt past the filter in the intake tract. Recommend getting their "recharge kit" which is the cleaner and oil, works very well.
Have been riding k and n for years after switching too uni for half the price I will be a life long customer juat boil the filter in hot water and your good too go

BEST ANSWER:On every bike we have had they have been a direct fit when ordered for that specific model. Most of our bikes are running the stock filter basket except my crf450 which has the aluminum Twin Air filter basket and the Uni ordered for stock application fit perfectly there too.

I ordered this filter for a 2004 Yamaha Kodiak. The filter included the foam filter and pre-filter elements. I had to use the original rubber and wire filter supports that mount the filter. The filter has performed well with no issues.
Make sure you use the drop down menus on the RMATV website for your specific application. Mine was a direct fit for my application. If you have any questions, call RMATV as they are helpful and knowledgable.
I Got one for my 09 raptor 700 and it was the stock replacement. It did not fit on my mount which is a pro design. Couldn't find one with the rubber housing to fit so I had to go with a k&n.
Someone took the factory filter off of my 1998 kawasaki lakota 4 wheeler and I need the filter to hook directly to the carburetor. Will it fit like that?

BEST ANSWER:No, this filter is designed to fit in your factory air box. There are universal filters available that you may be able to measure the dimensions you need though.

If you are talking air filter thats not how a foam air filter works. A foam air filter is made not to clog as easy as a paper or gauze filter in dirty conditions. The holes is the foam are way bigger than micron size. The method for trapping dirt is based on the dirt sticking to the filter oil. So, the air must change direction as it passes through the relatively thick foam element (thick compared to paper or gauze filters}, the dirt hits the foam as the air changes direction, and sticks to the oiled filter. The Uni does have a coarse outer layer and a fine inner layer. When cleaning, you will notice very little dirt makes it to the inner layer of foam. ,
I do not know the micron rating for this filter. I do know that if oiled correctly, it will stop very fine dust. I've never found any signs of dust down stream of the filter.
Not sure about micron size but, I do know that these filters do a great job keeping dirt out if oiled properly. I recommend Maxima fab1 for filter oil.
BEST ANSWER:If it matches the intake tube size. I would clean the oil from the filter so that it will not lube or attack the belt system. The system most likely does not have the negative pressure overcome the filter being coated by fine particles which would stick to the oil, but not harm the belt system. The finer dust would blow through as normal, but the bigger coarser debris would be blocked.

BEST ANSWER:This filter does not require the stock cage it can be run without using a cage as the cage can restrict airflow into the carburetor. It might tend to collapse without the cage but as long as its oiled properly it should function as normal

For a 2003 Honda XR50 it states it is a stock replacement but shows pics of the tube shaped one that attaches to end of carb, just trying to verify before I purchase? Thanks!

BEST ANSWER:It depends on the application. If it's a clamp on filter it will include the holder. If it is a standard filter that fits over a cage, then it will not include the cage, only the foam filter.
