Ive used different brands bel ray is the best for me pour it in a tub dip your filter squeeze out and your done little messy on the hands if you use a tub a bottle last a long time
I have been riding dirt bikes for 30yrs. this the only filter oil I use and never had engine failure due dirty air. This oil is cost effective, and has superior performance, blue color ensures even oiling. this stuff is so viscous/ sticky that it can be tricky to get on evenly and get it completely out of the filter when dirty. Use nitrile gloves and a extra large zip lock type bag to apply. Pre oil the bag, then spread in bag, then add filter to ensure even coat. Use kerosene or solvent first, then hot water dawn dish soap to clean. a little grease around the air box where the filter mates up and your are golden I use it in my dirt bikes, chain saws, weed whackers, even RC nitro engines. If it has a foam filter, it gets BEL-RAY F.F.O. It just works. Simply the best foam filter oil EVER!
I've used this for years and loved it. But, the last bottle I bought seems to be a much thinner formula than before. After servicing my air filter like always, I noticed a LOT of residual filter oil running down from my airbox. I didn't oil any heavier than usual.
I keep telling myself to try the no toil products, but why mess with something that works? Clean your air filter with mineral spirits, then dawn dish soap, apply this filter oil and your intake will look amazing.
Using BelRay air filter oil for MANY years. Never had an engine failure due to dirt passing thru filter. Very sticky blue oil permeates filter well & is also very waterproof too (great oil for wet enduro).Use rubber gloves as this stuff will stick to you for a long time. I pour the oil into a dish-cleaner squeeze bottle for precise & controlled application as the bottle has a large opening & gushes out a bit too fast.Dark blue color shows well for coverage. Only brand i CHOOSE to use for my air filter.
It is an awesome product. If oiled properly in super dusty conditions, the filter will clog and bike quit running but still won't let dirt pass through filter. I have had it start running bad on top end and still finish the race and air intake still perfectly clean
This oil is the tackiest filter oil I've used yet. Does a great job at keeping the GA red clay dust out of my motor. Be sure to use mineral spirits or kerosene to clean it out because soap and water won't cut it.
After years of trying different oils (UNI, UNI BIO, Twin Air BIO), this is the best I have found. I prefer the petro based because it speeds up the cleaning process and I actually use less water than with BIO oils and I end up with cleaner filters. Very little if any dirt gets through.
very sticky, and I like the easy use spray can. cleaning can be a bit tough, make sure you have the right solvents outside of plain soap/water otherwise you will have some work ahead of you.
BEST ANSWER:This oil is flammable. Used this brand for many years,on four & two stroke motors with NO problems what so ever. Four stroke bikes normally have a screen to prevent backfire thru the intake to protect the filter, two strokes normally do not have this problem or feature. Great oil .I would not worry about the issue you are asking about as it is designed to work on foam air filters & is from a reputable company . Just store properly as with any oil .

I've been using this oil for more than 20 years. Recently, I left the lid off my new container of oil, and the oil has become very thick and hard to work into the filter. Is there something I can use to thin the oil a bit, that will still evaporate out after installing to the filter, and that won't damage the filter glue?
BEST ANSWER:This has been my filter oil of choice for a long time too. I use regular old paint thinner to cut the oil for the first stage of cleaning filters and it does not harden or dissolve the glue. Paint thinner evaporates on its own, but, I don’t know how effectively it would evaporate when mixed or if mixing it with the oil would compromise the effectiveness of the oil in any way.
