    Hammer head shifter
KTM stock shift levers are very short, hard to get an up shift with size 10 boot, Hammer head shift lever with extended length works great, no more searching to get foot under lever.

Ktm and hammerhead only get along if you have red threadlocker or wire the bolt so it doesn't turn out on it's own, cos it will if you dont secure it. Can you say Dnf or spell wreck?

Junk on ktm 300 xc. The machining of lever on shit shaft is not beveled enough to allow the bolt to seat properly. Came loose constantly. Threw it into the woods and used stock

What is the plus 10mm and plus 20mm in the size selection in reference to?
    Andrew J on May 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The OEM shift lever does not offer any options to make the lever longer (further from the footpeg) but the patented line of Hammerhead Shift Tips gives the rider multiple options and an easy to read sizing chart based on boot size. The +10mm puts the tip of the shifter 10mm further away from the footpeg, giving the rider about 1/2 inch more room. The +20 gives almost a full 1" extra room. For riders with bigger boots or who prefer to have more room to get to the shifter comfortably these are awesome.
what is the difference between the forged lever and billet lever?

Hammerhead Forged Shift Lever with Knurled Tip
Hammerhead Billet Shift Lever with Knurled Tip
Hammerhead Billet Shift Lever with Knurled Tip
BEST ANSWER: A forged part begins as a hot piece of billet aluminum that is placed between two sides of a steel mold and compressed into a shape that is nearly final. The machine that does this is the size of two pickups stacked on top of each other. Some trimming is necessary and machining of the holes and the area where the tip attached as well as the broaching, of course. This is an economical process for volume production and quality parts like Hammerhead use the same good aluminum as the OEM.
Billet parts start out as a block of solid material that is placed in a clamp fixture while a selection of computer controlled cutting blades follows a programmed path to whittle down the block to the finished process.
Both processes yield similar strength characteristics, but the billet part can be designed to be stronger than OEM. It is also possible to make CNC parts from stronger material that is not compatible with the forging process.
The accuracy of the forging is very good but nothing compares to CNC as every part that comes off the machine is typically perfect. This is also why the warranty for CNC is much longer...
The time to manufacture a CNC lever is many times that of the forged and often the part must be turned or re-positioned several times to complete. The cost comparison is such that the retail price for a CNC part is roughly double that of forged, but in reality this is a great value as the manufacturing cost for CNC is far more than double the cost of forging, especially when using a higher grade of aluminum.
does this shifter come with the bolt to secure it, or does that need to be ordered separately?
    Matthew H on Feb 26, 2018
BEST ANSWER: YES, just as you can see in the photo, the pinch pin comes with this lever. For KTM and Husky there is a different type of screw that is not supplied (it's not supplied with OEM either...). Hammerhead offers a special hardened screw as an option for $6.99.
what the diferences in sizes and it has three green color ways with the same pic? going on a 2005 kx125
    Brandon S on Apr 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I think, and please don't quote me; they should be close to your stock shifter, and the color is preference on bike color. I would actually spend the extra money on at different shifter. Didn't last a full season for us.
    will these fit a ktm 2014 250 exc-f six days ?
    Diego G on Jan 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It will. I ride a 2010 KTM530 EXC Champions Edition. The mounts should be nearly identical. I love this shifter. The orange is great, the knurled tip is thick and well made, and the black anodized has held up. It will be a long time before I have to replace this part, unless I do something stupid
