I usually like Belray products but this chain lube has been a disappointment. Sprays on fairly thin and white. The good, you can see the coverage. The bad, runny white goo all over the place, running down the chain slider, dripping off the chain block and all over the floor. Super messy and gooey all over the can too.
I like the fact that the blue color allows you to see what got sprayed and the straw makes it more controlled. This stuff is very sticky and the dirt sticks to it really bad too, even after a wash down of the bike. I do not think I will be buying this brand again. Lubes good but dirt with it sound counter productive to me.
Works great and easy to apply, but be careful to not put too much it’s very sticky and creates a spider web effect from chain to sprocket when spinning rear wheel , I could see it being messy , but it clings on to the chain very well
I like the combination of Blue Tac chain lube and Honda chain cleaner. They make a great team! I have found that if you apply Blue Tac after a ride and after cleaning and then park the bike until the next day, none of the lube gets spun off onto the rear wheel and the inside of the chain guard. My chains are happy
Thicker chain lube that is a nice option for treating chain before wet rides. Does tend to collect a ton of sand but most thicker chain lubes do, Bel Ray is one of the better ones I have tried for O Ring chains.
I've been a Bel-Ray product user all of my life, literally since I was a kid. Typically I have had no complaint until I tried this "lube" - largely base on the good reviews.
First, there was no nozzle tube included, so trying to apply the spray it basically went everywhere except th chain! Messy, overspray everywhere.
Second, once I did get enough of it on the chain, yes it tacked up, but after my ride (I waited well over 2 hours between application and riding) the sand and rocks STUCK to the chain and chain guide. My chain was more like an abrasive saw after that. i tried to clean the lube off where it oversprayed. I used denatured alcohol, acetone, and tried a few other products and it was a PAIN to remove, especially from the swing arm.
I had to do several soaks and wipes with a degreaser to get it all removed. My swing arm is now permanently stained on my new Husky!!! No bueno.
Everyone has different opinions on lube. Some like the oils, others like the wax. Either way, clean and lube the chain often and it and the sprockets will last a long time. I like the oils better, the waxes tend to be too stiff. The oils require you to lube it more often. Wait after you spray it before running so you don't sling it all off. This stuff does not fly off if you wait just a few minutes.
I like this stuff. I have used all sorts of chain lubes over the years from super expensive to the cheap discount stuff. This is among the best that I have used. It sticks to the chain really well and does not fling off quickly like the cheaper stuff. It is sticky after it sets but it doesn't build up to bad and attract a lot of debris. Doesn't build up like wax type lubes.
I use this stuff on street bikes and dirt bikes. It goes on thin and tacks up quickly. Doesnt fling off and cleans off easier than most when washing. Ive used every other brand and this is my favorite chain lube of all.
I like this Blue Tac chain lube. It really seems to stick to the chain. I ride a lot in the dirt and this product seems to adhere and keep the dirt from getting into the O-/X-rings in the chain. I also use this on my street bike and my road racing bike. I just ordered another 2 cans.
