    2nd best filter oil
I really prefer Maxima FFT filter oil over Bel-Ray. Maxima is thinner to start with and is easier to work with. They both set up quick and perform equally for keeping dirt out.

    Best Air Filter Oil
Ive tried several different brands and aerosol too but I keep coming back to the Bal-Ray Oil. Its simply the best filter oil. Its easy to apply, and I have confidence that its protecting my engine. I am going to stick with the Bel-Ray brand from here on out.

    Oil
Any oil will work for air filter as long as there are not too many additives like cleaners, etc. I like this because its simple, cheap and BLUE. The color helps so you know you covered the entire filter.

    Best filter oil avaiable
Get very tacky after it sets up. Does its job well. Cleans up easily with Belray cleaner or mineral spirits. I won't use anything else.

    best air filter oil
works great, SUPER tacky, traps all dirt. keeps inside of air filters looking brand new. Use on filter skins and your filters will stay fresh longer between cleanings.

    Good and tacky
Has good tackiness and easy to work in. Better value than the spray on oils. I wish it still came in the larger jug.

Does the oil get mixed with water or do you just use the oil without mixing?
    A shopper on Oct 29, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Use oil only. I use latex or nitrile type gloves and gently message or squeeze oil into filter until filter is completely saturated but not dripping wet. Do not wring or twist filter to prevent damage. Take your time working a little oil at a time into the filter. You will know your done when it is completely blue in color. If you do over soak it , be sure to squeeze excess oil out. Happy trails.
    Is this oil non flammable?
    Austin L on Aug 23, 2017
BEST ANSWER: This oil is flammable. Used this brand for many years,on four & two stroke motors with NO problems what so ever. Four stroke bikes normally have a screen to prevent backfire thru the intake to protect the filter, two strokes normally do not have this problem or feature. Great oil .I would not worry about the issue you are asking about as it is designed to work on foam air filters & is from a reputable company . Just store properly as with any oil .
How many filters can you oil with this one liter?
    Peter T on Sep 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I use that same bottle and would say its good for at least 10 filters.
I've been using this oil for more than 20 years. Recently, I left the lid off my new container of oil, and the oil has become very thick and hard to work into the filter. Is there something I can use to thin the oil a bit, that will still evaporate out after installing to the filter, and that won't damage the filter glue?
    MICHAEL P on Jan 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: This has been my filter oil of choice for a long time too. I use regular old paint thinner to cut the oil for the first stage of cleaning filters and it does not harden or dissolve the glue. Paint thinner evaporates on its own, but, I don’t know how effectively it would evaporate when mixed or if mixing it with the oil would compromise the effectiveness of the oil in any way.
Is this a mineral base or synthetic oil?
