Cylinder Works’ Standard Bore Cylinder Kits have everything you need to get your cylinder back to stock condition whether you’ve had a catastrophic failure or its time for a more in-depth rebuild. The cylinder features a nickel silicon carbide bore sized identically to OEM specs for incredible wear resistance, exceptional performance, and excellent ring seating.
The Vertex piston included in the kit is forged from high-quality 2618 aluminum alloy using the same great Vertex skirt profiles and anti-friction coatings that form the perfect mating surface between rings, piston, and cylinder wall. Finally, the kit is rounded out with all the gaskets, O-rings, and seals you’ll need to put your top end back together and get back on the track.
Great product, great value, would highly recommend to other people needing to replace their cylinder. You should also rebuild bottom end of your cylinder is with enough to replace it.
I ordered two cylinder kits with pistons made by cynlinder works for my 750 teryx. The cylinders are great looking no visible flaws. The vertex pistons that came with the kit are of poor quality. One piston came with a broken ring set. One piston would not fit the wrist pin in it because of machining and had to hone it to make it work. The clips that hold the wrist pin in are cheap and almost impossible to install without bending them. I believe cylinder works makes a good cynlinder butI am sorry I ordered these pistons at the quality they seem to have.
I purchased (275) the standard bore high compression kit. I installed it and at start up I could heard a loud knock for every revolution the motor made. I pulled the valve cover and double checked the cams and valve clearances. Everything looked great. Fired it back up and it still had the knock. I had no choice but to tear it down and reinstalled the stock piston and the knock was now a normal low four stroke knock. I contacted RM and was informed since I installed the parts I would have to deal directly with cylinder works. Jim Burt had me ship the parts to him and a couple weeks later his engineer measured them and were not able to find the issue. He stated there kits are just louder than a stock top end. Funny because the box it came in states quieter. He shipped back the original parts and told me to deal with RM. RM will not refund or give a store credit on any part that has been installed or is used. I have installed numerous top ends in 2 stroke and 4 strokes and never heard such a loud knock in a top end before. The kit I bought standard bore high compression isn't even available anymore. Weird. Do not buy these kits. Go with the OEM and save yourself the headache and your pocketbook.
I can not tell you at this time how the Teryx works but at this point everything fits perfect. I could not believe the speed in shipping as I am in Canada. Fastest I have seen yet and I order alot from the US.
Good product, but hardly any instructions or guidance for a first-timer. The video on Rocky Mountain's website is really good, though. It all fit well except the line-up pins provided were not the correct pins. I had to use the pins out of the previous engine.
These cylinder kits are a life saver, especially when in a pinch before race weekend!
These cylinder kits are a life saver, especially when in a pinch before race weekend! We've installed dozens of these cylinders at our shop and never had an issue. Ring end gaps are generally pretty close and the cylinder plating quality is amazing. Can't go wrong with price either.
kit fit great bike runs better than ever the only thing better than the kit was the customer service I received. Recommend rocky mountain atv to any one
Great products from cylinder works. Bought this kit for my DRZ400SM and everything fit and is working as expected! I always trust cylinder works when I need to replace a cylinder. Rocky Mountain has the best products with fast shipping for the best price!
It isn't cheap, but comparable to other options for sure. I bought this kit for a YZF450 project I was working on. The instructions could have been a lot better, but there are plenty of videos out there (including Rocky Mountain) showing how to install. I ended up needing to replace the head and cams as well, but when I was done, the thing screamed!
Everything fit perfectly on my bike and made the motor feel fresh again. Race 1 season and a lot of free ride hours and it still feels great. Maybe next time I'll try the big bore kit. Great price!

Replaced athena big bore with standard bore cylinder works kit. Comes with everyrhing and details for install. Was very easy to install and looks good. Yet to test it out though. Also a big thank you to RM staff, 3 days and this was at my door in Australia.

This is the 3rd Cylinder Works Cylinder kit I have installed. On a YZ450F 08 this time. Everything you need is included. Literally bolt on and ride. Started up 2nd kick and purred. Will buy the same again next time.

I didn't realize how much power my engine had lost until I installed this cylinder kit a few weeks ago. My DRZ is like a new bike. It sounds like a throaty 4 stroke again and is much more responsive. The kit was easy to install and reasonably priced. We'll see how it holds up long term but it looked and felt like a quality part while I was installing it.

BEST ANSWER:The picture is just a general picture of a cylinder, the one for your bike might be different. In the image the port is for a coolant hose.
