    Not suitable for dirt bikes
The metal joint on the two piece pole constantly thumps me in the back. The Flag's O rings fail to secure the fabric adequately and it slides down. At 10 miles the flag got ingested by my rear disk and shredded. The shaft also broke at that time. I can't recommend it at all, go with a solid shaft and a glued on flag. Complete waste of money in my case.

Not very good durability, but not a lot of alternatives either. Lame.
Probably strong enough for mellow use on a TTR or kid's quad or something, but that's it imo. I broke mine day 1 in a moderately rough crash, then slid it through the holder again to where the pole was still solid to keep using it, then it broke again on a 70mph run from the wind alone. There aren't a lot of options for flags on the market, unfortunately, so I think I'll make my own next time from tent pole or something.

Good Flag If You Don't Care About The Logo
I needed a flag for the dunes and this was the cheapest option. It held up well and was easy to attach to the Tusk pole that I also bought. Of course, it has a giant RM logo, which could bother some people. It is more red than orange. But again, who cares?

Good Flag Pole, Poor Flag Retention
I'm using this on a Yamaha WR250 dirt bike with a Tusk rear axle mount. I drilled a small hole in my fender so I could use a zip-tie to keep it from slapping the exhaust. Flag looks great (nice logo), and the split pole makes it easy to take the top half off when I transport the bike. Other reviews saying the flag comes off easily are oh so true. My flag slipped over the O-ring retainer and blew off in the first 5 miles at 20 MPH. A friend found it and we secured it with duct tape. It made it the rest of the ride, but it looks ghetto like the rest of my bike now. :D

I like the spilt pole design but on the swingarm of my bike I dont think this flag is quite to the height specs required at the idaho dunes we visit. So something to think about when ordering. Would work great with a fender mount.

    Needs a better retaining system.
I have this mounted on my sons TTR90, when he hits tree branches they pull the rubber o-ring off the top and then the flag flies off. I'm going to have to put a zip tie or something on there to hold the flag on better. If you ask me, I would rather rip the flag than lose it all together. Luckily he only rides on our property for now so its easy to find the flag after it flies off.

    Good flag, bad mount
The flag is great, and it installs nice, but so are most other flags. The pole is split in the middle and I have lost two flags from it separating at the connector point on the pole. Not worth it just buy a flag with a solid pole.

    Inexpensive quality
It's a flag. The little rubber donuts don't secure the flag well enough or at all. I fiddled with it all weekend. I ended up with the flag in rear disc caliper. Secured it with duck tape

    two piece rocky mountain flag
I bought this flag for my neighbor, who has recently let his granddaughter start riding around our country block. It is great for visibility, and I wish all of the kids in our neighborhood would get them. It is a two piece shaft, which is good for storage, and transport. I don't think that I would prefer it over the one piece shaft for trail riding.

What is the smallest size hole the mount bolt can fit through?
    A shopper on Mar 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The mounting bolt is .490 so basically 1/2” hole.
How does this mount? Do I need to buy a mount kit ?
    A shopper on Sep 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It comes with a surface mount that requires drilling a hole. I placed it in the center of the rear fender. I was worried about it bending and deflecting at speed but it seemed to hold up fine.
What size bolt is the mount? (aka, what is the smallest hole the mounting bolt will fit through?)
    Jordan E on Mar 9, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It’s a half inch bolt
