This plug changes the way the wiring for the key switch works, and only the key switch, allowing you to remove the key switch from the bike. To eliminate the turn signals from an 07+ EXC or 17+ FE you could remove all of the turn signals and the flasher from the bike and install the 26-030-EXC control switch or the 26-236 headlight switch eliminator plug.
MIke SJohn,
This is NOT the same as leaving the key on, it actually bypasses and eliminates the key and reroutes how the power is delivered to the fuel pump. On 2017-19 EXC's the fuel pump power is routed through the stock key switch, key on = fuel pump powered up. This is why you kill the battery when you leave the key on. With the 26-234 installed the power to the fuel pump is re-routed through a relay already on the bike that is activated when you tap the start button.
When you hit the kill switch my headlight stays on for about 15 seconds then shuts off. I have a Trailtech HID headlight on my EXC and XC and they both work the same. Cant remember if the stock light shut off instantly when you hit the kill switch or stayed on a few seconds like the Trail Tech light. I would highly recommend this plug and eliminating the key switch if your using your EXC for trail riding.
Jase SMy experience was that just unplugging and installing the jumper plug allowed starting without the ignition switch. Make sure that you have the right connection. There are Youtube videos that walk you through it.
Kenneth FYes, I show part #1873530002 resorts to Sicass part #26-234.
Kourtney B.This is the case. When you install the 26-234 you are re-routing the wiring to the fuel pump and setting up the bike just like the 2013-16 XCF-W's were. The fuel pump coming on when connecting a battery tender was a problem with how KTM set up the bikes wiring on the 2013-16 XCF-W. You can stop this from happening by simply unplugging the 26-234 when you connect the battery tender.
MIke SPlease download the instructions. The key eliminator DOES NOT plug in to the same connector as the key switch...
MIke SFor the 2012-16 KTM EXC and 2014-16 Husqvarna FE-S models this should be the 26-233 Key Switch Eliminator. Once this is plugged in to the bikes harness it reroutes the way power is applied. In the stock format the headlight comes on with the key, with the key eliminator in place the headlight power is routed through a relay that is already on the bike so that the headlight comes on when ever the bike is running.
