    Almost got it
My ac output is high on my klx300r 13-58 volts, this unit cuts it down to 12-36 volts dc but that’s still a bit to high on the high end so I need to do something more.

Best thing is that it's a full wave rectifier
Used this along with a 2k2 stator floated and trail tech battery on my 250sx 2-stroke. Although the 2k2 stator is weak, with full wave rectification you get twice the DC pulses to charge your battery. Because of this I'm able to run a squadron pro light with no problem and not run the battery down.

    Works perfect so far!
I just wanted to run an LED headlight.

    Very satisfied! 2001 xr650r
This rectifier/regulator exactly what I needed to make my dual sport kit work. I bought a tusk dual sport kit but my horn wouldn't work on a/c and my battery wouldn't stay charged. Stole power from my lighting leads and everything worked great except the rectifier was using so much power my headlight was hardly on, so I hooked my headlight up to the DC power coming from the rectifier and wala! brighter than ever! This thing works great and is easy to install. Just hook up to your AC power coming from stator and hook whatever you want to the DC output. Easy as cake.

Well all that I can say about it is that without it My bike would not charge the battery or run my lights! Now I run a headlight and a helmet light with NO problems riding in rain, snow and dry conditions!

    not universal
Heading for product states universal then after further review states its not universal. If your not running a battery you have to run a capacitor in parallel with the output. to figure out exactly what capacitor you need, you have to have a d.c. amp meter, an oscilloscope, the correct math for this and a lot of trial and error, even after the math because you have to kind of guess on some of the math to get you in the ballpark to put a test capacitor on then you have to retest and so on.This is all due to fact that the product does not rectify the power very well. on top of that ( floating ground required ) means all your accessories, battery any power your running that is d.c. cannot share the same ground as the vehicle which is a.c. If your vehicle was made for a.c. i would suggest to just leave it as a.c. this was a big waste of my money and time. In short if your not using a battery and all you circuits naturally go to ground don't buy this!

*Note: As of now I have not used it

The construction on this thing alone makes me trust it. It is extremely heavy duty, I don't worry about it at all. The instructions are superb and have instructions for less than 3 amp batteries and more. Plus customer service for trail tech is awesome as well. They helped me out when I wanted to see the wiring diagram before I bought it. I don't doubt that this will work as long as I hooked it up right. Going to try it out later this week on the bike once the dual sport kit is completely installed and good to go.

what do you mean by floating ground ? I got two wires coming out my stator and was going to buy this to put between my battery and stator.
    Justin B on Feb 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: It is essentially a ground that isn’t actually attached to the earth, but to some other entity for electrical isolation.
Dose this system need a battery or can it be hock up to head light and qork it a 87 quadracer?
    A shopper on Feb 7, 2019
BEST ANSWER: You will want to check if your headlight runs AC or DC, you only want a regulator for AC, a rectifier is used to convert to DC and you can run a separate regulator, but I would recommend the reg/rec combo.
Google your "Wiring Diagram" for how to connect.
You can always call Trail Tech or Baja Designs they can help you out with it.
    What are the dimensions?
    Shane B on Jul 31, 2017
BEST ANSWER: 3"L X 2"W X 7/8"H The main box is 2"W X 1 7/8"L, once you add the flanges it's 3"L. Case must be grounded to AC voltage.
Will this work for a 2015 ktm 250sx 2 stroke?
    A shopper on Sep 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Trail Tech's Regulator/Rectifier is not an OEM replacement and will not work with most factory stators. The stator must have a floated ground, modifications to stator may be required.
