The Tusk Ball Joint Tool is a must have when it comes to replacing your ball joints. This tool precisely presses the new ball joint into place without damage. Made from high quality steel that will withstand the high pressures involved with ball joint service.
As the title says, I bought this to press a lower ball joints into SuperATV high-clearance lower control arm for a 2018 Can Am Outlander. The description does say fits most ATV ball joints. Unfortunately the opening of the tool is not tall enough to fit a ball joint for a Can Am without first getting it about halfway in the control arm by some other means. This meant using a 1-1/4" to 1" galvanized pipe reducer and a dead-blow mallet to get it started. Once the ball joint was in about halfway, I was able to get the Tusk Ball joint over it and complete the installation. Using this tool made quick work of finishing the installation (a lot quicker than beating it in with the dead blow hammer which I did on the first one and the reason i bought this tool!).
Overall I am happy with the tool and will keep it as I also own a 2005 Yamaha Bruin that needs ball joints, as well as a 2019 RZR XP1000 that will eventually need the joints replaced.
Used this on the SuperATV Forward A-Arms. Works well for removal of the old ball joints. Does not work well with the ball joint install on the bottom A-Arms. It’ll do the job but you have to keep repositioning the tool.
