great for the price
Picked up a cheap bike that needed a new clutch. This was the best bang for the buck and it feels good as well. Not sure how long it will last though only have 5 hours on it so far.

Very nice quality
The competition clutch kit with heavy duty springs was very easy to install and made a pretty good difference in my ride. My kx125 shifts through the gears alot better now, would buy again.

Tusk clutch and heavy springs
The clutch fit perfectly and grabs really hard but the only problem I had was that the springs were too long so I just put the old ones back in and it works great and you can’t beat it for the price would definitely buy it again

Not good for clutch user or abuser
Since it was cheap I thought I'd try it. First off the heavy duty springs dont even fit. They drag on posts and can't be used. ID is too small. I had to use stock springs. Then while riding I had to constantly adjust free play. Then after cooling down I'd have to adjust before starting out again. They would probably be good it you just pulled in clutch to shift. But If you ride using clutch to modulate your power even slightly then this clutch is junk. Best stick to OEM or ProX

Clutch plates and springs
Used as replacement on my WR426. Sometimes clutch does not engage after sitting for a while. Have to rock bike back and forth to free up the plates. Not sure if that is a problem with the plates or something else. Was not doing this before replacement. Not my first clutch installation.

I have a 2005 ltz 400 and want to order this tusk clutch kit. Will i need to install the Cushing ring?
Elizardo T on Feb 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You do not need to install the cushion springs with this after market clutch.
Do i need the cushion rings with this tusk clutch kit for my 06 Yamaha raptor 350?
Nikki P on Nov 28, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes you do.
When do u know that u need to replace the clutch on your bike?
I have a 2018 Honda crf230 this is my first dirt bike, I’m a beginner and the clutch is still the stock
Alexis J on Sep 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Hi, First, if you accelerate hard in a high gear on hard ground (no wheel spin) and the RPMs rise, but you are not going any faster, the clutch is slipping. Also if there is no adjustable free play at the clutch lever, (all the way in,too tight). DO NOT use car motor oil in a motorcycle with a wet clutch. It will make it slip and contaminate the plates. Then the clutch needs to be replaced. Thanks.
Do I soak them in oil before installing?
logan m on Oct 10, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You should soak them in the same case oil you use over night before installing them. That’s my preferred method and has worked well for me.
Will this work for woods riding? I'm trying to convert my track '11 km 25th to enduro.
Shawn G on Sep 12, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes this works great. the heavy duty springs create a progressive fell to easily chug through rough stuff in the woods. instead of a standard moto bike being all or nothing this will give you a lot of in between.
I have a 2001 Yamaha yz250f do I need the cushing ring if I replace it with a tusk clutch?
robert d on Mar 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes you still need the crush washer no matter what brand of clutch plates you use
on a 2005 wr 250f do I need to install the seat plate and clutch spring with this clutch kit ?
A shopper on Aug 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The only way to know for sure is to measure you’re steel plates and check them with the owners manual. If they are too thin, and worn putting new fiber plates in the clutch will slip🙄. The entire tusk kit is affordable enough to,replace the fiber, steel plates and springs.
Does it come with the bolts that you put in the springs to tighten down?
roger h on Mar 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: No it does not. You reuse your oem hardware.
02 yamaha 250f Is there a special order the friction plates go in?
Michelle H on Jan 29, 2020
BEST ANSWER: Start with friction and alternate until ending with friction. These will stack exactly as your OEM plates did.
What does it mean when you guys say to slip the clutcjto remove excess oil in the plates?
A shopper on Sep 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Never heard of slipping the clutch to remove the oil from the clutch,if its a wet clutch its always in oil,
Does this clutch kit come with the thinner first friction plate that a DRZ normally takes?

Or do I need to purchase an OEM first friction plate?

Thanks!
Andres R on Sep 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I installed this on a warrior and it had everything needed.
I have a 1990 Honda fourtrax 300
I want what ever it takes to replace my clutch assembly what do I need?
A shopper on Aug 5, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This kit includes steel drive plates and fiber plates, as well as new pressure springs if your clutch basket and inner hub are in good condition, this is all you will need.
2004 ktm 250 exc, what else will I need to replace the clutch?
Mike S on Jan 19, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Every thing you need comes in this kit love it raced one season never failed worth every penny
If I put this on a crf230f do I need to put the anti juter mechanism back in?
Evan S on Aug 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, the jutter spring will be removed.
Is there any down side of a slow trail rider using the competition clutch vs the standard?
Jeffrey W on Jul 5, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Not really after market ones grab a lot better only down side is if you get stiffer clutch springs it harder to pull the clutch in it gets old after awhile.
I just installed this on my 04 KFX 400. I put the jutter ring back in with the new clutch, but the clutch won't engage now. Could the jutter ring be the cause ?
A shopper on Jul 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I'm not a complete expert on your model but make sure the teeth on the back side of the pressure plate line up with the teeth on the inner hub when you install it. On a lot of clutches there is an arrow or index mark to show you which plate hole to line up with which hub post. If you miss it will go on but not far enough to "clamp" the clutch discs. Crazy excessive cable adjustment from where it was might be a clue that this happened. Good luck!
I have a 99 rm80 which I use for hill climbing and trail riding. I upgraded to this clutch kit already about July of 2016. The clutch is still in perfect condition the only problem I'm having is after about an hour or two on the trail miles from camp my left thumb goes numb. I didn't have any problems with the old clutch that was in it, I just felt like it would be the right thing to do with how I'm riding the bike now. Before I bought it, it was used for racing. Would it be a smart idea to go back to the old springs or should I buy different ones?
Anthony m on Oct 11, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, u can go back to the stock springs,
Or run 2 stock springs and 2 heavy duty spring. Mix them up to get the feel at the lever u want:)
I have a 2012 wr250F. Do I need to keep the judder spring and judder base plate in if I replace the stock clutch with this tusk clutch?
Matthew Q on May 17, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Everything should be in a complete kit ! Just put it back together exactly the way it came apart!
I have a 2003 yz 250f... the service Manual say there’s a Cushing spring (#12 diagram) and a seat plate (#13 diagram). Does this kit come with those?
Michael M on Mar 23, 2020
BEST ANSWER: It does not.
Will a clutch from 09YFZ 450 fit in a 09YFZ 450 R?
A shopper on Feb 10, 2020
BEST ANSWER: No, they are different part numbers for these machines so they will not fit both machines.
What percentage stiffer are these springs compared to stock?
A shopper on Jan 17, 2020
BEST ANSWER: They are about 10% stiffer than stock.
You kit has less plates and fibers then the stock one will that be a problem?
A shopper on Dec 23, 2019
BEST ANSWER: This kit will come with all of the necessary plates your specific machine needs. The picture is just generic, the actual part we send you is based off of your machine.

Do i still need the jutter ring on an 08 ltz400?
A shopper on Jun 13, 2019
