Some may not like using this vs the included double sided tape, but the install looks so much cleaner this way. I installed mine behind the number plate, making it visible while riding but also not in the way.
Usually I use mounting brackets but I didn’t on my last install, after a few months the two sided tape failed, luckily the sending wire kept the meter from getting lost...so I ordered up this bracket, mounts easy, makes meter easy to read...works on most as it has a few threaded holes for mounting.miy meter is made by hardline...
I used this with the Tusk hour/tachmeter and mounted it onto the top of my bar clamps. Its stays in place and makes it easy to read when I ride. I had to drill out the center hole to 5mm for the bolt to fit through and I was worried that it might crack. It stayed together just fine. It is a very lightweight piece of aluminum. It works well as I said, I just think it should be half the price or come included with the hour/tachometer.

Installed onto bar clamps after drilling out center hole.
Nice little mounting bracket, too bad I didn't use it i the end.
Value, - it was inexpensive. I'll likely use it on something else, for something else... Reliability? Well, I don't see it breaking! Ease of installation? On my 2012 Yamaha WR250R I found no 6 mm screw to use to mount it on the m/c. I'd have loved to modify one of the Allen heads on the handlebar clamps ... but yeah, no. So it wasn't easy to install on the motorcycle I bought it for. Ease of use? Yep, it fits the Tusk hour meter perfectly. Performance? I rated it as a 5 because if I was using it, the hour meter would never fall off the mount of the bike!
In my opinion this is a must buy for the tusk hour meter. It mounts up in a position that makes it look like a stock speedometer/digital readout, very clean. The only thing is the bolt for my number plate had the washer integrated into it so it wouldn't fit into this bracket. I ended up buying a new bolt (yamaha bolt that attaches the back of the fuel tank) to use here and it's perfect so I'll still give it 5 stars.
Great solution but falls short on the measurements
Great product from Tusk, but I noticed when I tried to install this on my 2018 KX250F, the tank bolt head was too tall to be installed through the mount and it would not allow the Tusk Hour meter to sit flush. I had to grind down the top head of the bolt to get it to work perfectly.
I just bought another one for a different bike, but now I know what I am getting into with this. The combo from Tusk is still a lot cheaper than other options.
I definitely recommend this bracket. I attached it right to the top bolt on my front number plate right in front of the handlebars. I paired it with a Tusk hour meter. Its clean and i was able to run my wire next to all my other cables for a nice clean install which is what i am looking for! Looks like it came from the factory this way!

Tusk hour meter installed for a clean and secure mount
I saw the video of how to install the bracket and it said your bolt needs to be a 6mm socket bolt but in the review it says it goes under the bolt. Do I need it to be a 6mm socket bolt or can it be an Allen head bolt holding the top of the gas tank to the frame?
