I think most of the people complaining about the cleaner not working are trying to clean filters that were oiled with the standard Twin Air Liquid Power Air filter oil and not the correct TWIN AIR LIQUID BIO POWER AIR FILTER OIL that this cleaner is made for. The only time I have ever had issues was doubling the batch of cleaner to clean 2 REALLY grimmy filters at once.
I got this because it was biodegradable. It takes forever to get the twin air liquid power oil off of the filter. And the video says to let it soak for 12 hours or more, which would work if you have filters to rotate, but not if you only had one and wanted to clean it really quick to go ride. I will try the non-bio cleaner next..and I made my own filter cleaner tub, and oil tub and put the twin air stickers on them that came with the filter..perfect!
Way too much cleaner is needed to get the air filter even close to being clean. Followed instructions to a t but still had to go through the entire process twice before the filter oil was mostly removed.
Love the Twin Air Filters but will be going back to No-Toil oil and cleaner.
I think the No Toil filter cleaner works better than the Twin Air. I have to do two cleanings to get the filters clean. It seems to take more cleaner...which costs more money in the long run. That being said, I still use and buy it...I like the Twin Air filter oil process so much better than the No Toil. The oiling process is much easier. So, pick your poison...better oil or better cleaner...I chose better oil.
I use this with the Bio Power Air Filter Oil and the combination works very well. Easy to clean just let the filter soak and then wash out with fresh water. Will continue to use on all my bikes and filters.
Yes that is the powder version to clean your air filters, I found it works best if you clean them in a washing machine on gentle cycle put in about 100cc have water level on lowest setting and hot, fill up tub and if you do it this way you can clean 3 or 4 filters at one time after tub fills shut off and let soak for 10 minutes and then run cycle after done run 1 more cycle with a scope of laundry detergent and when it is done you will have 3 or 4 very clean filters! hope this helps you
Many times I have considered doing what you suggest with the laundry machine! I think I might be living the bachelor life again if any Twin Air colored garments emerged from the laundry on following cycles!! FWIW--I put 100g of powder into 3 liters of BOILING hot water in a small Rubbermaid tub, and then agitate with the hand held potato masher. Thanks
I agree that the liquid version does work better, but is far less cost effective. At the cost of the liquid you are urged to re-use it. I prefer a clean, fresh solution to start off with and not re-use it. Thanks!
