SIzing is wonky
I'm 5'11 wear 34 jean with a 30 inseam so I ordered a 34, legs are probably 4 inches too long for me even when sitting. With the waist cinched up tight and as high as possible, the knee pads just sit at my knees while in the upper slot. They barely touch my knee caps when standing. Hope I crash with my knees bent? Seems like there is too much material in the thigh zone. Baggy fit overall, can fit over a pair of jeans no problem. Fit more like ski pants than riding pants actually. Will be returning, haven't decided if i want to risk exchanging for a 32. Like the pocket placement and durable material though.
Wish I would've read more of the reviews before purchasing.

Knee pad location is to low
Ordered the riding pants and the knee pad is way below the knee, even with the pads in the upper location. Called Customer Service and they said they have never heard this problem before. Told him to look at the reviews for these pants on their website and they will find multiple reviews about the knee pad location. Send them back.

Great value and good for year round riding. The vents keep you cool enough in 90 degree weather and the liner and ballistic material keeps you warm in the winter. It’s also water resistant so no need for extra rain gear. They are very long and I’m 6’2”. The knee pads aren’t in the best position when standing.

Utilitarian
Like the Battleborn jacket, these pants scream out loud that they're built down to a budget price point. Not a lot of care or R&D went into designing these, but the quality and durability are adequate for starting out. I like them better than the matching jacket. These are "entry level" in every sense of the word -- they'll do the job, but they're the 125cc of pants and you'll find yourself wanting to replace them after you get some more miles under your belt. I am given to understand that these are no longer in production (that's what I was told by RM customer support at one point, anyhow), but I'm going to say my piece anyhow and here's hoping the new version takes all of my complaints (and everyone else's) into consideration.

I found these to be decently adequate rain pants if nothing else. The waterproofing is considerably better than the matching jacket since they do not share the weak point of the unsealed zipper. The "fly" on these is not, actually, a fly and the waterproof liner extends across it to keep your crotch from collecting rainwater. Waterproofing is further enhanced by the ventilation design, which is terrible. Air can't get in, so water can't either. The rear ventilation slits in particular accomplish a whole heap of nothing, since they're positioned such that your natural seating OR standing position on any bike will essentially clamp them shut. The fronts are not much better, and noticeably blow through only when you're standing.

The legs are comically long and there is no gaiter or provision to shorten them. A note: There are in fact two positions for inserting the knee pads, one that's too low and one that's even lower, but mine came with the pads in the lower of the two positions which put them down almost touching the tops of my boots. The upper position is not great and still does not actually land the knee pads over my knees, getting them halfway there when seated and fully on my shins when standing. Or walking, which is hugely annoying. The hip protectors are thin but positioned correctly. Consider yanking the knee pads and using separate motocross style strap-ons.

These pants are, needless to say, VERY WARM, unlike the jacket. They work great in colder weather. You could probably ski in them, too. You'll want something lighter or much more ventilated for the warmer months.

Mine have been down in the dirt many times and served their main function of protecting my arse and related components, in the form of an inexpensive pant that I don't have to care about getting dirty or wet or mangled for how little I paid for them. For longer touring or adventures I would be first in line to pay more for something that ventilates better, fits better, and works better... but that would be a different pair of pants with a different purpose in life.

Great Pants
This pants are very comfortable. Great protection and vented well. Two complaints are that they could fit a bit better at the waist in that they tend to slip a bit. Second is that the knee pads should be able to be moved further up on the leg since the way they fit now tends to ride too far below the knee, even when seated. Still, they are great pants and I would get them again.

I love these pants !!!
My first ride in these pants was on an 87 degree day and they were comfortable. I have only been down to the 55 degree mark in them , and without liner they are perfect. I wanted to wait for a ride in the rain before I have a review . I worked last night and had to ride home in a heavy rainstorm . 4 miles at highway speeds and 10 on two lane roads . I'm pleased to say I'm dry as can be . I love these pants !!!

Great material and water resistance, but unacceptable fit.
I'll begin with the good:
I really like the material, and with the vents open I stay as cool as can be expected in 100 degree days in the summer in Florida. The pockets are nicely placed and the zippers seem to be good quality. They are very water resistant with the vents closed. There are hip pads which seem like they will protect well, and the knee pads themselves are nice.

The bad:
I'm not a fan of the front waist clasp - it doesn't seem like it will last. The pants are VERY long. I'm 6ft with a 36in waist and 32in inseam and the pants hang at least a couple inches below my heels. The lower leg is very baggy and they get caught on the pegs if I'm not careful. I've almost dropped the bike a couple times at stop lights because of this. With boots on, I have the ankle button clasped at the tightest setting, and the button opens up half the time leaving the material to get in the way. All of these issues are not a big deal, but the thing that makes me regret buying these pants is that the knee pads are WAY to low. When standing the top of the pads are below my knee caps and they jam right into the bottom of my knee caps when I walk. When I sit on the bike they still dont cover my knees unless the pull the pants up by hand. And then the pads ride a little inward of my knees so they will let a lot of the outer knee be exposed in a fall. Not acceptable. I'm going to end up removing the pads and buying knee pads that strap on around my knees, and with that extra expense it totally negates the cost savings of these pants.

In summary, if they altered the fit and shortened the thigh length by about 3 inches these pants would be a great option. Bringing the lower leg a little thinner would be great as well.

I forgot to mention the thigh is a little baggy as well, but it is actually preferable for me because I have thick legs.

If they fix these fitment issues for Gen 3 I will buy another pair when these get ragged.

first use 560 miles
I bought these in a rush for a 560 mile loop from Phoenix area to grand Canyon and back. I trusted the Battleborn series because I already had gloves and jacket with few complaints. Waist is tight for the bagginess. I found the same with "One" pants. My ride was in 70-100 degree temps. The Vents are annoying but very well placed and worked VERY well. Pockets and zippers were all adequate. I hit rain. The pants repelled it with no problem. Back to bagginess, ankles snagged a lot on the and gaitor buttons came undone. Not a big deal. Waist fastening was difficult to use and flimsy (might not last long). The very spot where you would hold it to pull tight is the release!! . Knee pads- The top of the knee pads were two inches below the bottom of my knees standing. once I mounted on my bike they came up to touch my knees. Crotch bulges once on the bike. No, not for "that reason". I need to modify but great pants for the price.

Are the pants cut to fit over clothing or are the sizes cut for no pants underneath?
A shopper on Nov 25, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No need to wear pants inside. They re cut true to size, so if you insist on using them as overprints, you will need to size up...
Will they work with knee braces and can you wear them inside the boot like Mx pants?
MIKE S on Dec 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: You can comfortably wear knee braces under them with and without the thermal liner. You cannot wear them inside of your boots. They are super comfortable. I just wore them on a two day 400 mile ride across the desert from LA to Vegas and temps ranged from upper 40's to mid 80's. They are great pants.
Do the waist sizes correlate to jeans sizes or dress pant sizes ?
Because i wear a different size jean than dress pant
Art W on May 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I would say jean sizesas I do not were dress pants to often, they fit true to size.
Can these pants be put in a washing machine?
Eric H on Jan 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would. I would not wash on a hot cycle but, they are pretty tough.
Personally I would pull the armor out and then check the velcro for gunk.

Will these fit inside a boot or are they strictly meant to be over the boot? I have Sidi Crossfires.
Steve P on Dec 10, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I don't think they would fit in a boot, definitely designed to go over your boot... i guess also riding long distance in rain you would want the water to shed down past the top of your boot to your sole instead of shedding into your boot. I think you could fold them over and put them in a boot but it would be awkward.
I'm going to be riding in warmer conditions. Are these pants meant to ride in 80+ temperatures?
Marek G on Apr 24, 2018
BEST ANSWER: These pants can be ridden in warmer weather. You need to open the vents and take out the liner. If riding slow, you won't get much air through the leg vents and you will start to sweat (these are water proof so they only breathe through the vents. Recommend light color pants to minimize heat.
I'm currently a 36" Waist and 32-33" Inseam. I ride with moto skiveez tights all year. I have ordered other brands of pants in 38 and with the quilted liners they just barely fit in Winter. The remaining 3 seasons are perfect without the liner. How close is the Sizing with the Quilted liners? If a little room is needed should I go up 1 or 2 sizes?
Mike B on Dec 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I am 36 waist and 32 inseam and bought the size 36. I have used the pants with the liner and with all the pad and there are fine. I am 6 foot tall and I use suspenders to hold the pants up better because of the extra weight of the pads and liner. Different body types may reqiuire use to get a larger size based on leg and calf size, I believe mine are normal size leg with smaller calves. I hope this will help
How does the set hold up in 90+ degree temperatures? Will it vent well enough to ditch the mesh sport jackets that I always find myself riding in during the summer? How heavy are they?
Matt F on Apr 18, 2018
A.R.C. Battle Born Adventure Pant
A.R.C. Battle Born Adventure Pant
A.R.C. Battle Born Adventure Jacket
A.R.C. Battle Born Adventure Jacket
BEST ANSWER: Vents definitely help a lot! They're better than the foul weather A.R.C. jacket and pants by far. I rode in a muggy 90° weekend recently, and it was pretty hot still. The material is thick, but you'll be glad on cooler days, and if you go down. Mesh jacket if you have room in your luggage would be fantastic, but for me I like having one set of riding gear. Battle Born is a fantastic option for not packing extra riding jacket. In hot weather I just wear cool moisture wicking tank top underneath, and if you stay moving it's not bad with vents open (esp if you have a well vented helmet). Highly recommend this jacket/pant combo. The thermals make 30's° riding a non issue as well.
Will they fit over Dirtbike boots?
Stephan R on Nov 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yup, they fit over my Alpinstars 7's perfectly. You can have them as tight or lose as you want around your boot too.
Do the pants and jacket zip together in the back?
shawn w on Mar 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They do not zip together.
What suggestions do you have for suspenders for these pants? Do they have integrated suspender attachment points?
A shopper on Jun 2, 2019
BEST ANSWER: They do not have integrated suspender attachment points. I believe it was mentioned to buy one size bigger, which I disagree with now that I own the pants. I bought 38's and 36' would have done fine. The pants do have some thickness to them. Not sure how a clasp style suspender would work while riding and also not sure how easy it is to sew some attachments onto it.
Will the inner leg burn on pipe?
Stephan R on Nov 8, 2017
BEST ANSWER: they will not melt.
Is there padding in the but area?
A shopper on Dec 27, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The pant is comfortable, has several protections and the interior is removed depending on the weather ... comes very broad
I have the first generation of these pants. For the most part they have been great for the two years I've had them except for the waterproofing. Has the water proofing been improved well enough to try these pants again?
jeremy f on Mar 11, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I bought these pants about 2 months ago. The waterproofing is very good so far, but I can't compare to earlier versions since this is my first pair. That said, I love the pants. The fit was exactly on size, they are very comfortable and fully adjustable. I ride in a warm climate, and with the liner out, they were fine.
Is the seat of the pants beefed up with ballistic as well or just the knees?
shayne s on Mar 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: No, just the knees. I think it is worth mentioning that these pants are pretty dang tough and, in my opinion, over built (if that can really be a thing). I have been wearing them for some months now in PNW weather and I really dig them. Again, well designed and well built.Certainly not a purchase I regret.Hope this helps. When I first got them I was concerned about how slick they felt while sitting on my seat but, after the "newness" wore off I don't even notice it now (part of it was my carbon style, seat concepts seat.)
I am looking at the grey version of the pants and jacket, how easy are they to clean? Do you wash them like moto pants?
Jeff T on Feb 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Yes I treat them as moto pants get simple just remove pads and liner and they clean very easily
I wear 32x32 jeans. If I order a 32 will I be able to wear them over my jeans?
Nathaniel H on Jan 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Without the insulated liner they would fit comfortably. With the liner they are a little snug with jeans. But i have been on rides both ways but im just more comfortable just wearing a base layer and no jeans.
Can anyone give me the actual (measured) inseam of the 36
' waist pant?
Patrick T on Jan 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I purchased the 36 initially. I estimate the inseam at 33 to 34 inches. I have a 30 to 31 inseam. I exchanged the 36 for a 34 which fit far better but the inseam was still too long. I estimated the 34 inseam was 32 to 33. I returned the 34s. These are very nice riding pants but the inseams are longer. RMATV should offer a shorter inseam for the popular sizes.
I typically wear a 38 waist. I want to wear these pants over a pair of jean or cargo shorts. Will I need to go up a in waist size to have these fit over shorts comfortably, or is the waist size figured into wearing them as a second layer?
Adam L on Jun 9, 2019
BEST ANSWER: My experience with these pants were that I ordered the size I normally wear in shorts or jeans and these Battle Born Adventure pants allow me to easily wear a layer under them. I haven't worn thick layers under them but shorts are fine. They also allow room for my knee pads that I bought separately and strap directly around my legs. There are straps on the waist band that allow you to cinch up the waist a little, or relax it a little too. Hope this helps
Will these pants fit asterisk knee braces? If not what similar ones would?
Chad H on Oct 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The ARC Battleborn pants should have plenty of room for the asterisk knee brace. You won't need the knee pads that come with the pants. I use the Bilt Charger knee guards under these pants and it is a 100% improvement. Guards stay on the knee and is very comfortable.
Are these the newest version?
Robert M on May 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I believe they are. If you haven't done so yet, check out the review video on YouTube by EverRide. I bought these pants based on his review, ARC Battle Born items are good products.
