Armored Jackets and Vests

Bought this one as a spare in case I ever wear out or trash the first one I bought. It's way more durable than some more expensive brand name units I've owned. Zipper continues to work well without a lot of fussing compared to others which is nice too. ONLY negative is it does run a bit on the warm side compared to lighter built ones that only last a month or two.

Had a perfect rooster deflector but the straps didnt fit properly. So these made it simple and easy to fix the problem. Perfect size and comfort.

Just what I was looking for. Comfortable, light, good flank coverage. Lots of adjustability. I have used an old TLD stone shield roost guard for years along with a gear vest. Combined the protection isnt bad, but shifting to a fanny pack for summer rides, the coverage was lacking. I tried on numerous options, and most fell in either a similar (minimal) coverage or a substantial coverage at the cost of weight and bulk. This Seven chest guard strikes a balance, especially if you customize the CE pads. The front CE pad is two pieces of rubber and the back is three. I considered removing the CE pads altogether, but first tried paring them down to one thin layer in the front and two layers instead of three in the back. Another important factor I wanted was shoulder pads. I really like the TLD Stone Shield guards shoulder pads which cover your collar bone rather than deltoids. The shoulder pads on this guard were at first awkward, but seemed to work okay once I loosened the arm straps and wore it over my jersey. Although I am over 6', the rear panel sat sort of low on my upper back. I tightened the upper straps about 1.5" and everything fit better. Nice to find a chest guard with flank protection and shoulder guards without it being super bulky and heavier than I want for 4+ hour rides.

Great protector for a good price Great value overall. Fitment was great takes a bit to figure out the Velcro on the shoulder pad arm straps, but no real issue so still gets my FIVE stars. This even fits under a light jacket i have in fall riding. Good coverage but not bulky. Quick and easy to put on once you get it all set up. Have used for a full year no issues. Soil sample tested also multiple times.. lol
