Bell Helmets from Rocky Mountain ATV/MC

From the tracks to the trails and across the streets in between, Bell has always been trusted to protect riders. In 1954, Bell Helmets founder Roy Richter witnessed first-hand the dangers associated with racing. A racer himself, Richter saw the need for some extra protection, and created his first helmet – the “500.” Business expanded from there, and the company quickly took the head-seat at the table for their innovative and revolutionary look at helmet manufacturing. With their unique perspective and insight into the industry, Bell has continued to develop the products that the riders of today need.

Since its beginning, Bell Helmets has always been focused on how to best protect riders of all ages, sizes, and riding preferences. Their helmets address every aspect of the ride – protection, comfort, and performance. One never has to come at the expense of the other, making Bell’s helmets the most well-rounded and inclusive helmets on the market. Their effective designs, intuitive technologies, and industry-leading construction have set the standard for the rest of the industry to match. All Bell Helmets come standard with MIPS and ECE certification, along with durable shells, moisture-wicking liners, and varying internal safety features. Bell Helmets are accessible to varying price points and budgets, making the high-performing helmets affordable for all riders.

Today, Bell Helmets still has the same focus and aspirations. The company remains true to its roots while climbing the ladder of innovation. Their helmets are engineered in the name of safety, for all riders of all riding styles. They’re tried-and-true because they’ve been around long enough to be put through every test and ride. Good value helmet

I was worried about the fit because I'm in between a small and medium. My head measured 22 inches or around 56 mm. I purchased a small. The fit was perfect. I have an oval shaped head.

    Would Recommend

Great value that comes with comfort and great features. As someone who wears glasses but cant justify spending money to get prescription goggles this helmet is an amazing find. While its a dirt bike helmet it has a built in visor like a street bike helmet would. This helmet is priced to sell but that doesn't mean its not comfortable because it is. I would strongly recommend this helmet for anyone who wares glasses or just doesn't like wearing goggles but still wants eye cover.

    Leaves much to be desired

Hard to complain when the price is so low - but I expected a bit more from Bell. Most of my Bell helmets in the past have been purchased for sportscar racing, and the high price was justified by the build quality and materials used. However, it is obvious that this is a completely different market segment and the helmet was built to a price point. That being said, there are a few flaws that are basic design issues that should be considered before purchase. 1. The peak has a high frequency vibration at speeds above 55-60 that is quite loud. 2. The helmet is extremely loud. 3. Been mentioned on a previous review, but the first 2 detents on the shield are in dumb locations and the bottom edge of the shield is directly in the sight line and distracting...but like he mentioned, I merely crack the shield off of the fully closed position and get enough airflow and keep the bottom edge out of sight. 5. The replaceable ear cups are made of poor quality and fitment could be better. Bottom line - I wish Bell would make a higher quality helmet for the ADV market and charge more - this dumbed down version of a Bell helmet leaves a lot to be desired. But for the price I suspect it beats the lower end of the market (not sure as I have not purchased other low price ADV helmets to compare).

    Nice Helmet

Great Helmet. The peak doesn't catch any wind that I can notice. Very quiet with the visor closed. I just hope they make a Transition visor for it.

  • Klim Krios Pro Helmet

    Krios Comfort?

BLUF: Good light weight helmet, good fit and finish and quality build. My complaint is the fit. I wear a medium, the large was too big and too much side to side movement. The medium fit well initially but tends to move forward putting unnecessary pressure on my forehead. Also, the ear cups fit very snuggly and my Cardio speakers press into my ears. I historically wear Shoei Medium, since they fit me so well, but since this is my first ADV helmet and the weight was noticeable lighter than the Shoei, I figured I'd give it a try. I'd switch, but considering the cost, ill probably keep using the Krios and hope it continues to break in more. Its a great helmet, just make sure it fits your head shape.
