    NOT MADE FOR MOTOCROSS

I purchased this because i am a vet rider who wants the extra protection. this product is extremely uncomfortable. I purchased the Large. I am 6'2" 180 lbs. first issue was arm pump, the sleeves are very tight on your arms so i cut the sleeves off, problem solved, until i tried it without the sleeves. you simply cannot breathe well in it and it restricts your mobility. i would not recommend the for motocross. i would go with the A1 or something similar. this product is too tight fitting! I used it twice.

    Great light-weight protection.

This is perfect for someone who doesn't want or need all the bulk of some of the heavier armor. I am 5'11" and 200 lbs and this (XL) was a perfect fit. The armor is in all the right places. Easy on and off with the side zipper. Recommended.

  • Leatt 5.5 Body Protector

Okay Chest Protector, not as good as Fox Titan and ...

I used a Fox Titan sport jacket/ballistic jersey for years and still have it. Hands down it is better quality, more heavy duty than the Leatt 5.5 and for less money. The reason I bought the Leatt is because I broke a rib in 2019 and this one has side protection. I read all the reviews which most complained about quality, and ordered it online anyway. When I received it, I saw what they meant. It still is a useable jacket/protector. The biggest difference you notice right off is the mesh is lightweight compared to the Fox, more of a jersey than a jacket. It does stretch quite a bit, and seems like less of a protection and more just to position the armor on your body. As others have said, the mesh and zipper that zips up the side feel like they won't last long. Nobody seems to like the sleeves that unzip right at the elbow, sometimes when you don't want them to. I have found that if I'm careful putting it on, they stay zipped while I'm riding. After wearing it on 8-10 rides, my biggest complaint was the kidney belt barely will stay fastened. Often you can feel it popping loose, which makes it kind of worthless. This is because the Velcro fastener has a very small surface area, also it is an inferior type of Velcro with very little holding power. I wrote to Leatt and they said they would consider doing something about it, but after several months gave up. So I decided to do something about it. I bought 2 inch wide industrial strength Velcro, which you can get at places like Lowes for $3-10, depending on the length. The plastic hook side of the Velcro, which is about 1.75 inches wide, seems identical to the industrial Velcro, so I left that as is and added another 2 inch wide band. The loop side (the fuzzy component) of the belt, which is some kind of fabric, as I said is not adequate, so I covered that with two 2 inch wide bands, for a total of 4 inches of hook and loop material on each side of the belt. You peel the backing of the Velcro and stick it on. I pressed it very hard over the entire surface to bed it into the fabric and so far it seems to be holding just fine. If I have problems later on with it coming unstuck, I will take it to a leather shop and have them sew it on, or try using heavy duty fabric cement. But so far it is working great and may outlast the rest off the jersey.

  • Alpinestars Women's Stella Bionic Protection Jacket

savior for women dirt bike riders

It took me quite some trouble to find the armor that fitted me. I'm 5'6, 136 lb, and I fit M perfectly. I have relatively wider shoulders and long arms, alpinestars jacket size M usually feels like squeezing my shoulders a bit, dainese jacket fits better. I was skeptical about this one but I couldn't find any other armor specifically for women. I tried the men's armor and I never felt my B cup was so much in the way. Chest piece easily fits a wide range of cup sizes. It's nicely built and easy to put on. If you want to try dirt bike like me, don't settle with anything less.
