As the successor to the well-received Sand 2, the REV’IT! Sand 3 Jacket improves on the materials, the weatherproofing, and the impact protection to create a refined, 4-season jacket that’s one of the best options for commuting, touring, and adventure riders.
The biggest changes are found in the zippered ventilation scheme with chest, back, and sleeve vents all getting a healthy increase in length. And with the interior rain barrier removed, you’ll take full advantage of those vents with direct airflow to your body, making the Sand 3 one of the few 4-season jackets that can actually keep you cool on a hot summer day.
Styling has been slightly tweaked and handsome colors are available that give the jacket a mature feel while still letting the technicality show through. Armor has been upgraded to REV’IT’s Seeflex CE level 2 to give each piece of protection more of a form fitting shape and ripstop material is now all across the outer layer of the jacket. Fit adjustment is still excellent with the adjustable rail system still being used, there’s still a good amount of reflectivity, great thermal and waterproof removable liners, and attachment points that work with your Hi-Viz Connector Vest and Challenger Cooling Vest.
Overall, this makes the Sand 3 a very solid upgrade from the already great Sand 2. REV’IT has taken some of their higher end features, put them into the Sand 3, and still managed to keep the price right in the middle of the road. For the riders wanting a jacket that can do everything from legit hardcore adventure riding to casual jaunts across town, REV’IT!’s Sand 3 Jacket is one of the best.
4-season, waterproof, insulated, technically focused riding jacket great for upright riding positions
Ideal for commuting, adventure, touring, and most types of riding
My biggest challenge is that I'm female, but having owned an earlier version of the Sand Jacket, I was hoping that the fit would be similar! I am, thus far, TOTALLY pleased with my purchase having not had the opportunity to take an extended ride dressed in full gear as of yet. Arms are the exact length, torso fits perfect, and the overall fit is really comfortable. An added bonus is the red highlights of the jacket match my bike!
