    Great helmet.

I love this helmet. Expensive but I’m glad I got it. It is quite with great visibility. My only complaint is that it gets a bit hot and could flow more air.

Great visor but a little pricey

It’s a great visor. Not too light...not too dark. Great Shoei quality. I just wish they were less expensive.

    worth 500 dollars?

Okay, Im coming off a Scorpion ex400 that you cant even get shields for anymore. I went to the rf 1200 for 2 reasons , weight and better fog reduction. I will say that I'll never spend 500 dollars on a helmet again, it was a one time thing, because, there's too many sub $300 helmets that function as well. Did I get better weight, yes, do I really notice it? NO, a couple ounces difference not really noticeable. I still use my 13 year old scorpion, by the way. The fogging? this is complicated. The rf 1200 fogs easier, than my scorpion, but the 1200 has better venting to clear it, once the scorpion fogs , your screwed. Part of the reason the shoei fogs, is because its closer to you face. The pin lock system, is nothing but double glare issues, not usable to me, also cuts lighting by 20%. I suppose if it was totally foggy and rainy and you had to go a long distance the pinlock might be useable, but any sun and the glare is crazy, nor night usable. Pain in the butt to mount. So yes the Shoei is usable to me, mainly cause it has the ability to barely open the shield, without directing wind flow into your eyes, which also aides fogging. Its not worth 5 00 dollars thought, and its just adequate for me to use. Done over again, Id rather have just found a new lense for my scorpion. I will run this helmet for the next decade or 2, it will take that long to get my money back.
