  • SuperATV Insulated Cooler / Cargo Box

    Mounting system needs re-engineered.

The installation of this cooler box should be fairly straight forward, but can have issues. You must remove two bed bolts to install the brackets for the cooler. This is fine until the plastic bed shifts, covering the existing bolt holes in the frame. This required drilling out the plastic at the bottom to access the bolt holes. Because the plastic has been drilled out, the spacers are now too short and the bracket will not sit flat. the bolts provided are a metric fine thread and easily strip. You cannot put enough torque on them to tighten the bracket sufficiently to hold it in place, nor will it sit square with the bottom of the bed. I ended up tapping the holes with 1/4"-20 and providing new bolts and longer spacers. It still stripped out before it could be torqued enough to hold the bracket securely. I will likely resort to 5/16" bolt to remedy. Bottom line, the mounting system could use some design refinement. Otherwise, the cooler is a great value.
