    Review on Fly Patrol Jacket

I was looking for an enduro shell type jacket and got the Orange Patrol Jacket. It is vibrant, but not obnoxious. A good looking piece of gear. I wanted to wear it over my pressure suit, and at 5'8 160 athletic build, a Med fits perfectly. Its a generous "American" cut, but not too baggy in the mid section. I'd say the sizing chart is spot on. No need to size up or down. Its a newer design, with zip down front panels and a large rear panel. This is appreciated, as it will replace my Fly mesh jacket which has help up perfectly over the past 5 years of adventure riding. The zip down mesh panels flow on the front and a VERY large one on the back will flow a lot of air. These zip down panels aren't shown very well on the website. Its a great feature and FLY seems to not realize this in their marketing to retailers. Zip vents on the sleeves would have been an amazing feature, but they do zip off. Not sure that i'll use this feature, but its nice to have options. Build is decent. Lots of loose hanging threads that made me worry that velcro or seams aren't stitched on well, but everything looks to be ok, just poor QC. Overall, I'm very pleased and would buy another, and/or recommend it. I rely on reviews in part to make my purchase decisions, so I felt I'd give back and hopefully help someone out.

    Very nice jacket!

Jacket as advertised. 2XL size is what I fit well, and ordering a 2XL was the correct fit for me. Only reason I only gave 4 Star Rating was due to the outside pockets having a slight, but messy coating on the inside of the pocket lining. At first, I couldn't figure why my hands were turning black. But, they washed easily. Probably is like a weather-proofing coating they have. Other than that, I really like all the features that the jacket has to offer, & it's very comfortable riding a conventional bike. Overall, I'm really pleased with it!!

    Great VAlue

It gets hot here in the summer and this jacket is exactly what I wanted. The jacket keeps you cool while giving you protection. I ordered Hi-Viz and it has held up great. The removable liner is perfect for when it gets a little cooler. Definitely a hot weather jacket though. When it gets cold I switch to my Firstgear Jaunt jacket.

    Really good jacket...

I have had this jacket for several months now, May to Dec. I like it a lot with only a few minor hang ups. Fit is great, Im a large man at 6'2'' and 270lbs. Im working on that. Rode all summer with liner out and it breathes well, I can keep cool in the warm weather of western WA coastal area. all the pads stay put and feel like they will protect me well. Have not had to depend on them for that yet. Color is very bright ( I have day glow yellow) and easy to spot me riding. Winter riding has been good. I was daily rider to and from work until Dec. My biggest gripe is when riding with jacket zipped down a ways at highway speeds the collar snap will flap around and beat my helmet. A LOT. Like drive me friggin crazy, a lot. Have ridden in rain several times and no problems. I have used this for my Search and Rescue missions and after several hours in a steady down pour of rain, riding through puddles and such, it did soak through. These were extreme conditions and Im not sure that there are many jackets that would have done much better. I was warm until I stopped. Cold out side and wet inside is no fun. Riding was fine its the standing around that got me. Temps were in the low 40s to mid 30s. My next jacket will probably be the Battle born ARC jacket. But no regrets about buying this one!

    No Vents, Good Quality

he fit is a little big, so whatever your size is normally, get the next smallest down. Had to give it a 3 rating because it didn't have vents. The worse thing about this Jacket is no vents, which is really a huge disadvantage because they have so much working for the jacket. I'm going to take it in and see if I can get some zippers installed for venting. The neck collar is the next bad thing about this, it is not comfortable at all and can make your neck raw, and I am at the point of putting a piece of cloth in front to make it to make it work well. Otherwise the Jacket seems to be pretty decent quality, Velcro works well, has enough pockets and the padding doesn't seem to be to distracting. I would not buy again, unless it had vents and then I think I would continue to buy it over and over if it did have vents.

    Great cold weather suit

Keeping in mind that this was meant to wear over your regular riding gear, it does really well. The zippers and flaps do a great job of keeping the wind and cold out, and the bottom of the legs keep tight against my riding boots, no wind up the pant leg either. I would definitely buy this again if it ever wears out. Good comfort and you just can't beat it for the price.
