  Wattman did a lot of research to produce this and did not skimp on quality. Installation is a breeze with a mild degree of competence. I added this to my KLR after about 200 MI. It makes a pretty significant difference in how fast the bike warms up. I believe the science behind it is solid. The whole point is to reduce thermal shock from overcooled coolant being applied to the bottom of the cylinder. This kit allows some coolant to bypass the radiator and normalize that coolant. The engine runs around 180 when it's very cold out, 195 anytime it's warm out but you were moving at speed, and upwards of 220 when putting around which is what the fan is for. I personally recommend you do this. For what it's worth, 7,000 mi in and no oil burning.
