Close call

Comments On Jan 18, 2015:The ball hone works great, only if it fits your cylinder properly. I used the 77mm-84mm hone (as recommended by RM)and it was a VERY tight fit. It was almost impossible to get it started in the cylinder. Once I finally got it going it was very difficult to keep a steady back-and-forth motion to get a consistent cross hatch pattern.
Be warned. If your cylinder falls near the smaller end of a given flex hone's size, do yourself a favor and go one size down on the hone. You might just ruin your cylinder trying to force it in. I'm going on 3 hours since my top end rebuild and so far no issues, but only time will tell.
Otherwise it's a great product, but this info should be included On the product page.

Flex-Hone Cylinder Ball-Hone

Comments On Nov 14, 2014:Rebuilt top end on my Raptor. Cylinder had minor score marks from previous owner. Used the Flex-Hone as directed by manuel and video posted on Rocky MTN to produce perfect hatch marks on the cylinder. Was an expensive investment for one job, but the Hone tool fits various sized cylinders.

Comments On May 31, 2014:Simply awesome. It doesn't get much better than this for the backyard builder. I screwed the cylinder to the edge of my wooden workbench and went to town with the Dewalt

Great hone

Comments On Feb 12, 2014:Used this hone to get the cylinder to look great. Then we used the Wiseco hone for a final honing. Perfect combo. Spend $125 on the two hones but will have for a lifetime. Now I can do pistons on other bikes.
