Knowing the debilitating effects of blisters, it was the goal of Risk Racing engineers to develop a solution that offered full coverage protection to the areas of the hands which are affected by intense friction, rubbing, heat and moisture. In order to create the necessary armor, Risk Racing has produced the Motocross Palm Protectors. The Risk Racing Motocross Palm Protectors are a very thin, protective layer offering full coverage protection of the palm as well as the saddle area between the index finger and thumb. The Risk Racing Motocross Palm Protectors also aid in reducing the dreaded "Arm Pump" by absorbing vibration transferred through the handlebars. Worn under motocross gloves, riders don't even notice the ultra thin Motocross Palm Protectors, but they do recognize the vibration reduction and much needed protection against blisters. Motocross racers, trail riders, and road racers alike can benefit from the Risk Racing Motocross Palm Protectors.

Risk racing palm savers. This product is a literal life saver. Ever since I got back into racing palm savers are a must. I race GNCC, MSXC series and most of the time they fall on every weekend to every other weekend. Blisters would prevent this from happening. I raced a MSXC last season and forgot my palm savers at the house, I raced anyways half way through I couldn’t feel my hands because my palm was gone. It took me 2 weeks to fully recover from that luckily, I didn’t have to skip a race. From that point on I always keep a new set in my gear bag. I raced a 9 hour enduro and 1 set lasted me the whole time and I didn’t have any blisters. 1 set usually lasts about 4-5 races for me. I recommend 10/10 defiantly worth the money.
These are great, especially if you have bad blisters from previous race and need to cover them. Raced a 3.5 hour hare scramble without them and blistered like crazy. I had a race the following weekend and wore these and couldn't tell my hands were messed up. I don't recommend running them for the first time on race day because they do increase grip circumference and will cause abnormal arm pump. However, after that one race, I haven't pumped since. I also switched to gloves that have no paging in palm and they're very comfortable.
I used to wrap my hands in tape, but decided to give these a go. They work great, except for the inside of my thumb, which I still have to wrap to prevent blisters there. Sizing seemed a little small at first, but they get broken in after a ride or two. Make sure you don't stretch these a lot, since they're made of a foam type material that can easily rip if too much force is applied (they're durable if you take care of them). I've done 2 hare scrambles and an enduro (plus trail riding in between), and they are starting to rip enough to where I need to get another pair. A small price to pay for a convenient solution to most blister problems!
I bought these by recommendation from racing buddies. I was getting terrible blisters on the outside, and tops of my palms. I've used them for 2 races now, and they are incredible! No more blisters. One note, if you wear a ring, and normally leave it on when you ride, take it off! My first race with these, I left my ring on, and the material bunched up, causing a very deep and painful blister. 2nd race, no ring, no blister.
These run a bit small I think. I bought a med and lg size. The larges worked great. Half way through the race I swapped gloves and had to use the mediums. With my hands swollen, I lost feeling in my fingers because the mediums cut off the circulation. I managed to wear them all the way to the end, but it was uncomfortable.
You would be an idiot not to use these. every songle person I give a set is amazed how much longer and harder they ride. no more blister. can be improved on index finger strenght as thats too thin and tears way before the rest is done.
Two harescrambles ago I lost all the skin on my palms from blisters. I heard of these and tried them. I had minimal or no blisters after the last race. They work. I have big hands and the L/XL size is a little small. They're starting to tear cause the finger holes are too small. Looks like I might only get 3 or so races out of them. I need a bigger size if there is one.
Totally eliminates blisters, I use these in alteration with the msr full glove liners. These work just as good but don't hold up as long. It does not even feel like they are there. Works great for racing.
I have weak hands and get blisters easy because I have a death grip on the bars all the time. Used to using full coverage glove liners, full finger and fingerless. These feel a little funky at first but you get used to them right away and forget they are there. Careful putting them on and off, they are made of a foam type of material and can tear easily.
These are great if you struggle with blisters- but I've got some advice. They do save you from blisters but makes your overall hold on the machine larger, and you'll find your fingers get much more stiff and tired out. This is magnified if you're wearing thick gloves. I recommend thin gloves like the moose SX1 or Fly Lites if you plan to use these. If racing- practice once with these before trying them to get used to. Good product though.
I had my doubts that they would make a difference and be tolerable under my gloves. They were not noticeable except for the fact that after a 3 hour trail ride on technical trails, no blisters. Typically after these rides my hands are torn up. I'm sold!
I purchased a pair. Tried them on. Wore them for 15 minutes to try it. The part around the wrist broke off right away. They are smaller than you expect. I will try and use without the band going around my wrist in the future and hopefully they will work effectively.
I have never had large blisters from riding before. Last year I rode a two day event and had huge blisters that took up my whole hand. I found these online and figured I would try them out at my next race. They worked great. No bunching or slipping and they added that little bit of extra protection. I order another couple of pairs for backup and wore them to the same race this year as last year and no blisters this year.
I only got about 4 hours out of them. They were comfortable under my gloves, prevented me from getting blisters, but I ripped one of the finger holes out after 2 races (4 hours).
Complete and overall happy with these Risk Palm pads
Over a long period of time of racing I got blisters on my hands during every race I participated in, with these risk palm protectors my blisters have been eliminated, I can hang on the bike better and push harder throughout the race thanks to this great product.
I race 2 Hour hare scrambles races and before I got these palm protectors, I would get horrible blisters and rip off callouses during the race. I will still get the old yamathumb blister occasionally, but I wont do a long race without them.
Great product that helps reduce blisters on your hands. At first I wasn't sure if I would like having these on under my grips but I do not even know they are there until I take my gloves off at the end of the race.
Perfect! Good fit, good durability, good price. Good for racing or riding trails. I would say it reduced my blisters by about 95%. I race 1.5 hours cross country normally.
I've previously used duct tape to save my calluses during endurance races. These work way better and are totally comfortable. They're critical for vacations where I ride a lot of days in a row or for endurance racing. I use them on my mountain bike too. These are the best style of palm protectors out there.
These have a nice fit over some of the other brands and holes for all fingers, nice. But, they are thinner and wear out faster that others too. less bulk and a bit less protection on the palm but nonetheless they do the job of blister prevention/reduction.
wore them about 15 mins and noticed my hands going numb. i bought the biggest size they had and were still too small. wish i couldve wore them longer to see if they really worked.
They may not look like they would help but when you ride a lot....your hands do get callus build up. They are washable and last for some time. Generally buy 3 to 4 pairs at a time to last all year.
This is a pretty cool product. It works really well with keeping you from getting blister. Unfortunately the do wear out quickly so order 2 sets....Definitely worth the money.
These worked well for about an hour, but then began to rub just as bad as the gloves. I have since gone to a smaller glove with athletic tape and no Palm Protectors, which seems to work best. At the price, it's worth a shot to see if they work for you (I think I started with gloves that were too big).
I bought these because I do a lot of GP style races and love them, no more blisters and you cant even tell your wearing them, these are a must would definitely recommend.
I race AA hare scrambles and tried these for the first time at last weekends race. Worked great. There was no fitment issues, and couldn't tell I even had them on. I have trouble with blisters and had no new ones after the race. Would recommend them to anyone. I will be buying more.
Essentially adds a layer to your gloves. If you run a single layer palm glove like I do, it will buy you a little more time before blisters start to occur. Not necessarily going to completely eliminate blisters, but it will cut down on them for sure. They comfortable and cheap enough, so why not.
BEST ANSWER:My husband regularly wears a medium motocross glove. I purchase the small/medium palm protectors for him and they work great. They fit his hand well and fit into the glove easily.
