    Problem Solved

Comments On Jan 31, 2016:Almost every KTM rider has had shift lever issues. You either lose your shifter when the bolt breaks or falls out. Or you mess up the splines when the bolt gets loose. This bolt takes some good steps towards fixing those issues. It is one piece, no separate washer. It also has a through hold for safety wire. Problem solved.

BIG FEET, worth the $. small feet: still worth it!

Comments On Sep 01, 2015:I'm 6'4" and wear a size 13 boot. I had trouble with the distance (or lack of distance) between my shift lever and foot peg. The problem was that I was having to point my foot so far down to get under the shift lever to up shift. This caused some trouble, especially when trying to up shift while standing. It doesn't seem like the added 10 mm would make much difference, but it does. The hammerhead shifter has changed my shifting game for the better. AS FOR THE BOLT - have you ever lost a shift lever while riding? I have. It was no fun. Came out of the trail at my local practice facility and shifted down into 2nd to coast through the parking area to get back to the trail head. Got back to the trail head and went to upshift and NO SHIFT LEVER! Luckily, I'd left the ramp on my truck bed and putted the bike back to my truck and up into the bed. Had I not, I would have caught heck trying to load the bike by myself while it was stuck in gear. THIS BOLT IS PRE-DRILLED FOR SAFETY WIRE SO I WILL NEVER HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT LOSING A SHIFT LEVER MID RIDE AGAIN.

    I bought 2 & would buy another

Comments On Aug 07, 2015:I bought these because it has the safety wire loop and I've seen more than one lost lever on long trails. The larger head is probably not needed because of the torque value for this bolt & it is a bit of a pain when most of the other bolts I hit before a ride are 8mm

Comments On Apr 11, 2015:this bolt is junk ktms have a problem with shifter bolts coming loose so I tried this and the second time I tightened it broke off in the shift shaft use the stock bolt with some red lock tight. I donot recommend this bolt to anyone its complete junk. wish ktm would just switch to a shift shaft that uses pinch bolts instead of these stupid tapered ones.

    Bolt snapped off.

Comments On Jul 03, 2013:Bolt snapped off. I own 4 KTMs and this is the first time I tried a bolt besides the stock. Big mistake. The bolt head snapped off and when I tried an ezout it snapped off as well. Had to pull off the clutch cases in order to remove the shift lever and replace with a new one. Nothing but stock bolts for me in the future.
