Very good jacket
As a new rider, I love this jacket so far. It feels super safe with the durable fabric and the armor pads in it give me a lot of peace of mind as well. It’s been 80+ every day I’ve worn it and as long as you open all the vents and keep moving it’s not a problem. I have yet to test it in the rain and cold. Fit great with a little room for a coat underneath. Good pocket size in the front and the pouch in the back for a water bladder is a life saver.

Great Jacket with lots of features
I've been looking for a solid riding jacket for a while. I just bought this one and took it on a 7 day Oregon BDR trip. The temps ranged from 65-107. With the vents open, I didn't suffer too bad in the heat. The jacket fits great in the shoulders and arms, but is a little large in the chest and mid section. My only issue was with the water bladder pocket on the back. While this is a great idea and feature, the pocket is so small that it won't hold a full 70oz bladder. I'm not sure what size would fit in there, but it's small. The other issue, is that when you do stuff a full water bladder in the pouch, the weight pulls the jacket back and kinda chokes you. A set of chest straps to keep the jacket in place would have been a great feature to distribute the weight of the bladder.

Great fitting and comfortable
Heard about the jacket from the Everide channel. It's a great jacket, fit is great, air flows good, and it's warm when all zipped up. I haven't used it in the rain yet, but all the reviews say it does good.

Battleborn Jacket
I like the jacket and the features. Have not ridden in Harvey rain yet. But the jacket runs small. I wear an XXL and this jacket is very tight.

Took it on a two week ride thru the Northwest
The jacket performed well. Weather ranged from sunny & hot to COLD and misty on Mt Ranier.

The jacket kept me dry during rainstorms- you just got to be sure to snug up the sleeves at the wrists- water will get up the sleeve. This is Operator error not the jacket's fault.

The jacket vented reasonably well in temps in the upper 80's and 90's.

The only area for improvement is the neck closure. It's a liitle tight to close it and the velcro tabs are a liitle too precise (high up) for easy closing.

There is no nice way to secure the front collar closure if you want to open it for additional venting in hot weather.

It would be nice if there was a way to secure the collor when it's in an open position.

All in all, a thumbs up.

Definitely Waterproof
I just rode 300 miles through the Adirondacks in a downpour while wearing the pants and jacket. They are definitely waterproof. Only one drawback.....this gear is HEAVY! But it still deserves 5 stars for value and versatility.

Excellent Value!
I was very impressed with this jacket right out of the package. Quality durable 600 denier with well thought out pockets, snaps and reflective material. The liner has fasteners and zippers to stay in place for colder days. Air passes easily through the shell vents on summer days and is quite comfortable. I'm a believer!

OK, but not water resistant
Jacket fit great.venting very good on a sport touring bike. Had to return because it leaked into the elbows in the rain on the second day I had it. Good jacket for the money, just not water resistant.

I usually wear mediums. I’m 5’10”, 170lbs, 40” chest. I plan on wearing my Fox Titan armor underneath the jacket. I hear they run a size small, so I thought about getting a Large. Will I be fine in a larger with the Fox Titan armor on, or should I get a XL? Or am I thinking too much...
Jordan O on Feb 1, 2018
BEST ANSWER: these do have a liner so they are a little snug if you run that armor under neath i would say get the large but we do have our fit guarantee for this exact purpose. free shipping on the first exchange so you can try this out and see if it will fit. i hope this helped.
Is the armor removeable?
Mike S on Nov 7, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the pockets hold the armor in place and can be removed quite easily. I was even able to add more armor on top of the pads included. I put additional D3o armor into the pockets with the included pads just fine.
Do the two pieces zip together at all?
Tadashi A on Nov 2, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes they do.
Do the zippered vents on the BattleBorn jacket allow air to pass through the outer shell AND the water-proof Z-Liner membrane or is vented air only allowed to circulate between the outer shell and the waterproof membrane?

BEST ANSWER: yes they do. the Z-liner is seam-sealed to the vent zippers.
Does the battleborn jacket and pants offer protection for street riding?
John W on Jun 4, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Full Disclosure, I have not crashed in them, but the jacket & pants certainly seem to be made for encounters with pavement. The armor is all CE rated and the construction (stitching, type and weight of fabrics, etc.) is similar to other adventure/touring gear -- think of the Firstgear Kilimanjaro for example. Only compromise is the hip armor which is foam padding but you will find the same on other touring pants in this price range and considerably higher.
How does the set hold up in 90+ degree temperatures? Will it vent well enough to ditch the mesh sport jackets that I always find myself riding in during the summer? How heavy are they?
Matt F on Apr 18, 2018
A.R.C. BattleBorn Adventure Jacket
A.R.C. BattleBorn Adventure Jacket
A.R.C. BattleBorn Adventure Pant
A.R.C. BattleBorn Adventure Pant
BEST ANSWER: Vents definitely help a lot! They're better than the foul weather A.R.C. jacket and pants by far. I rode in a muggy 90° weekend recently, and it was pretty hot still. The material is thick, but you'll be glad on cooler days, and if you go down. Mesh jacket if you have room in your luggage would be fantastic, but for me I like having one set of riding gear. Battle Born is a fantastic option for not packing extra riding jacket. In hot weather I just wear cool moisture wicking tank top underneath, and if you stay moving it's not bad with vents open (esp if you have a well vented helmet). Highly recommend this jacket/pant combo. The thermals make 30's° riding a non issue as well.
For those of you whom may have worn both colors of these jackets in the heat of summer; is the grey cooler than the black as one would assume, or are they the same?
Bill T on Apr 16, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have the jacket in black and I ride in Southern California. I have not noticed any issues with heat absorption. I’ll take the black over the grey just on that color to hide the dirt and bugs better. It’s a great jacket. Go with what you like and ride.
Is this gear actually waterproof? I have seen mixed reviews.
shayne s on Jan 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I've yet to wear it in the rain but by looking at it I'm thinking it will take a while to get wet
Is the gear waterproof, I've seen mixed reviews online?
A shopper on Jan 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I’ve been riding for decades and have yet to find any gear that is going to keep you 100% dry while riding in a rain storm. I haven’t worn this gear in heavy rain, but I’ve ridden through creeks, splashing water all over myself and my bike without getting wet. The water runs right off of it. It is definitely is waterproof. Rain proof? That’s a different question altogether.
Are there chest pockets for armor? ( thanks )
Thomas C on Dec 22, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. But depending on what size you purchased and what additional armor you have, it is possible to wear additional armor under the jacket. I was able to wear my fox titan armor under the jacket comfortably.
What brand of hydration bladder fits in the back? Where do I purchase?
David J on May 13, 2018

I'm 6ft and 195lbs. What size should I buy if I want to wear Fox Titan armor under the jacket?

Which water bladders (make/model) fit in this jacket's hydration pocket?
Thomas D on Apr 12, 2018

I am 6'4, 220 lbs, 36 waist, 46 chest. What size in both Jacket and pants? 😁
Steve G on Jan 20, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I am 6’4, 200 lbs 34 W and 44 chest and the jacket in XL fits me good, but snug in chest. I use the adjustable waist to tighten up the jacket for a better fit there. Overall very happy with it, the arm length works. I passed on the pant because I have a 34” inseam and chose the icon Watchtower pants in their tall size. Very satisfied with those as well. Hope that helps.
Can you replace the armor with something stronger like d30?
Ian K on Dec 1, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can. I just recently upgraded the back armor, it was a little difficult as the hole to put it is place is a bit small, but it can be done.
