If you’re a rider looking for entry-level boots that retain premium features, the Forma Adventure Boots are one of the best options available. At a basic level you’re looking at a premium leather chassis in a full-height, 3 buckle configuration. Combine that with the dual density sole and gusseted fabric panels, and the Adventure stands out as a comfortable boot with excellent flexibility.

But the boot maintains an excellent amount of protection too. A frontal impact plate protects your shin, your heel and toes sit in a reinforced heel cup and toe box, and both your inner and outer malleolus (ankle) bones have dedicated hard protection. Weather protection is handled by the integrated waterproof, breathable Drytex lining that extends up to the second buckle.

Take the major features, add more nuanced refinements all around the boot, and top it off with Forma’s quality construction and the boot becomes an excellent value that works for adventure riders, touring riders, or riders that want the protection of a full height boot without giving up comfort.

    Protection
  • Injection molded plastic front plate
  • Plastic gear pad protection
  • Internal molded plastic protections
  • Drytex lining (waterproof and breathable)
  • Shin and ankle TPU molded plastic protections
  • Ankle reinforcements

    Ergonomics & Construction
  • Full-grain Oiled Leather upper
  • Adventure double density anti slip/rubber sole
  • Adjustable velcro closure
  • Unbreakable and adjustable GH plastic buckles
  • Special rigid nylon mid-sole
  • Extra soft polymer padding with memory foam
  • Anti-bacterial replaceable footbed with APS

nice boot, but.
I like the protection from these boots and fit is great. What I don't like is the lack of breathability. When riding in the Moab area in 80-90 degree temps they did not allow perspiration to escape. End of the day my socks were soaked to the point that I was able to ring water out of them.

Comfy. Good protection. Easy buckles. Look great
The Forma Adv boots were comfortable right out of the box. Nice wide toe box. I did go up a size to US 12 when I usually wear 11 11.5 they look great and allow Jean's to be worn over boots.

Decent boot, be careful with sizing.
Build quality seems great but sizing was off for me. Exchanged first pair for next size up but I still had an issue with width. They also looked good for the dualsport riding that I do.

Good for riders who also might get off the bike and hike around
Provides good protection, not as much as a motocross boot, but still better than a non riding boot. The tread on the bottom of these Forma's is very aggressive and great for trekking around and you could easily hike in them. In summary, not as much protection and structural stiffness as a motocross boot, but a great boot for riding + hiking or if you ride from the trails into town and need to walk around (or get to the bar).

new boots
I purchased the Forma boots for foot protection on a new KLR. They appear very well made and are relatively light given their size. The buckles permit a decent amount of adjustment and provide a comfortable fit. The sizing is OK, as the length is appropriate although somewhat wide in the midsole.

These boots saved my foot
I bought these boots because my friend shamed me into them. I was planning to buy the cheapest boots I could find. What a mistake that would have been. He proclaimed that next to a helmet, good boots can protect you more than anything else...so I bought them. They were relatively expensive.

Four weeks after starting to ride with them, their value paid off. I decided to go for a quick ride over my lunch hour. I almost didn't put them on because I did not anticipate having any issues at all on such a short ride.

Twenty minutes later, I wrecked. I was motoring up a short hill and I dropped off the high side into the ruts. They were shallow so I decided to goose the bike back up onto the high side. My front wheel slid out from under me and the bike started to go down. I wasn't worried - I was only doing 5-10 mph. As the bike fell, I prepared to roll clear. That's when my left toe caught the ground. It was pinned between the dirt and the moving (and falling) bike. My leg was twisted at the ankle and I was forcibly thrown from the bike. Then the bike landed on my leg to finish the job. I ended up with a 30 degree lateral dislocation of the ankle, a fractured posterior malleolus, and a fractured fibula.

I'm a paramedic - and I've seen a lot of motorcycle wrecks and lower leg injuries. I can say with confidence that these boots spared my foot. Because of the mechanism of injury, I am almost positive I would have at least had an open dislocation of the ankle if not a compete amputation of foot had I not had these boots on.

Thank you for selling such a great product. In 8-12 weeks, I'll be wearing them again!

Forma Adventure boots
Forma boots are great for mostly road riding and hiking around, off road they do not provide great protection because of the soft material. They are really comfortable but starting to show wear along the sole.

Good boots
Awesome dual sport riding boots. Just enough protection for the average dual sport rider. Wish the buckles were not all plastic, seems to unbuckle themselves easily. Overall a nice boot.

I Love these Boots
These are the best Dual sport boots I have ever owned. Sturdy enough to stand during the ride and soft enough to walk out to the overlook.

Are these considered "motocross" boots?
Sean G on Mar 4, 2017
BEST ANSWER: No. They are ADV boots. They lack some of the more robust protection offered by good MX boots, but are more comfortable all day and for walking. They are my favorite ADV boots. Excellent quality and super comfortable.
I wear an 11.5 boot.. should I go up a size to 12 or down to 11 with this style boot?
Timothy V on Apr 15, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I always look for the EUR size. That is an actual measurement across all brands. These are a wide boot, and I have a 4E wide foot. These are the first boot that I was able to wear all day on the trail and not have tons of foot pain. I would go up in size if you have exhausted all other thoughts.
Where are these boots manufactured?
A shopper on Jan 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: "For the last 10-years the company has its own independently owned production plants in Romania. This has permitted to make a “made in Europe” product with only the highest standard quality; naturally the production is followed and monitored by Italian personnel. Romania (part of EU) was chosen as during Communism, it featured the greatest production of soldier’s boots for the entire communist area, so skilled labour was easy to find. "
What are the disadvantages if I were to use these boots when riding a street bike?
Garison B on Apr 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I use them on street but mostly dualsport. They are hard to wear with anything but overpant style because they are tall and thick on top. Jeans cant tuck into or go over the thick top. I usually wear low boots and jeans for street then strip off overpants to hike etc at destination.
Can any of these dual sport boots work as a functioning snowmobile boot?
Thanks
Kevin S on Oct 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I have these boots and use them for snowmobile as well. They are fairly warm and fully watertight. I love these boots when atv or adv riding. Super comfy great protection and dry. Even saved me from a bad shin gauge from a poorly placed are hit that glanced off tree straight into from of the boot and was stopped by the shin gauge.
Will these boots fit someone with 19" calves?
A shopper on May 8, 2019
BEST ANSWER: I bought size 10 and I have 16" calves. I'm using about half the buckle length/adjustment on the top buckle. To answer this question would probably depend on boot size. Size 11 or bigger I would say yes. To be sure ask manufacturer. I love them. They are very comfortable. C.Brown Ft. Smith,Ar.
How large diameter calves will this boot adjust to?
A shopper on Mar 14, 2018
BEST ANSWER: My calves measure 17 3/4”. There is room to adjust for larger calves than mine. These boots are super comfortable.
