can't speak to how it works yet, but parts fit fine and job is easy. completely cooked my rear brake from jammed mud at millville and decided to replace entire rear brake system including rotor, so this was a no brainer for the price.
check your rear brake lever adjustment and keep area clean between motos when it's muddy. If you're just practicing and your brake binds, pull over and deal with it before you fry everything like I did. This was a day ruiner and somewhat expensive, painful process to rebuild entire system.
I loved this matter cylinder rebuild kit... When it originally went out I was sure that we would end up buying a whole new master cylinder but for a fraction of the price I got the rebuilt kit from all balls and couldn't be happier. I would recommend this kit to anyone
Rebuild kit to fix my leaking master. Suggest cleaning old master with a sonic cleaner as mine was pretty dirty after 11 years of use. Make sure you really look at the removal process as it need to be put back exactly the same way.
Took about an hour with the cleaning but well worth if . Bought the caliper one just in case I needed it too but didn't. Have it for a spare.
There is always a compromise when buying value priced aftermarket parts. While this kit worked, the brakes never had the same performance and feel as original. Replaced fluid and bled system multiple times before rebuilding again with OEM parts. Will not make the same mistake again.
This is a great, relatively inexpensive option to OEM parts to renew brake function. The only challenge is getting the small seals installed on the factory pistons. There is a good reason why Honda sells this part as a piston with the two seals already installed!
Dont be a cheapskate, buy oem. I thought I learned my lesson the first time, then bought another kit. And it failed. Don't cheap out with brake/clutch parts. Rode 2 miles of single trail and lost all fluid in the master cylinder leaving be with a miserable ride back to the truck.
Great kit !The tools needed are the snapping pliers and needle nose pliers, wire brush and some solvent spray to clean the reservoir and plunger housing. To make bleeding easy use the syringe type bleeders
Only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because they didn’t state in the notes that the o-ring for the mastercylinder cap comes with the kit. Other than that the price is great, quality meets OEM and my brake is fixed and now works like new.
The included parts were all correct. I am having trouble with repressurizing/bleeding the break system. Parts are specific to location . However no diagram, and I may have installed incorrect. A video of the rebuild process would be helpful.
worked perfect, comes with everything in picture. They ship very fast, so pull you're old one apart first because if you need a new piston, this kit doe's not come with one, but worked perfect for me and stopped my leak.
Yes, you can use any good DOT 5.1 brake fluid. It is what's recommended and will give the best performance against excessive heat. You can also use DOT 4 in a pinch, but never use DOT 5, it's a completely different type of fluid that will harm the system on KTM's.
