    Don't need for a KTM 65
Didn't need it to get the piston installed, I put in from the bottom and this was no use.

    Piston Ring Compressor
Saves you from cuts and frustration when wanting to keep piston rings in place during a rebuild. I'd happily recommend this tool to anyone working regularly on top ends.

    Works like a charm
Purchased this ring compressor to help keep the rings in place on my 4-strokes piston. Made putting the piston in the cylinder a breeze.

    Works like it should
Heavy duty, works like it should, but the way my KTM gets put back together i coudnt use it. But its easy enough to put it back together without this. But if you plan on changing more than a couple pistons, then this might be worth it to buy.

What size ring compressor (in millimeters) do I need to use on a ktm 300 xc-w and what other special tools might I need to do the top end?
    Jon C on May 6, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The KTM 300 uses a 72mm piston so you'll want to order the 38mm-83mm ring compressor. You'll also need a set of feeler gauges to check the ring gap and possibly a file if the ring gap is not large enough.
