I was in a bind with Tusk's being sold out everywhere when I was prepping for my trip so I went with these thinking they'd do the job.
The Pros: Very lightweight
The Cons: Very lightweight. After a tip over, not crash, onto the side of the bike, the rack bent into the bike and was rubbing the side panel and part of exhaust. Luckily I had a ratchet tie down strap in my emergency suplies and was able to hook up to a tree and pull it out away from the bike.
Also, because they are light weight, they allow for flex and movement so the panniers move all around when you hit small bumps especially offroad.
If you're in a bind, they work. But the tusk are leaps and bounds better. I wouldn't recommend these for even light duty stuff.
The design has changed slightly in that the side racks are square shaped and not triangulated as shown in the picture. Bolt up was very quick and easy. Required very little muscle to align all the holes as I have run into with other rack installations in the past. Hard to beat Givi's fit and finish. Going to put other aluminum panniers on these, but hate the look of the square metal tubing of the other rack systems. The cross over piece fits nice and tight inside the rear fender. Very sturdy system but still looks good.
Bought these to mount a set of Caribou cases but I've used them more as a rack for soft bags or just for protection from falls. The installation was super easy on or off and the price is right. Several soft drops have not bent these into pretzels. Good job Givi!
Machine this part was bought for: 2012 YAMAHA Super Tenere 1200

I have a 2007 BMW F650GS and am looking at the Tusk Aluminum Panniers, will those work with this rack? Also looking for the mounting kit to mount those panniers to this rack. Thanks, Brian
BEST ANSWER:These cases are universal, you make the holes where you want the cases to sit. Very versitile. I even changed the height of my cases after making the first bracket location.I just slapped some black wide electrical tape across the old hole and it still water tight. One thing to keep in mind is the locks that come with the cases suck. Make sure you lock tight and use lock washers. You will lose them if not. If you can find a better supplier for locks that fit the case I would recommend upgrading the locks.Last thing always check your cases are locked before you ride away. I've had mine fly off a few times too many and luckily I was able to find it before someone drove over it.Needs some improvements to the simple design. A bit to narrow. And the opening is a bit to small. Hope that helps.Happy riding.

I suspect that the rack is capable of supporting the panniers but you will have to get creative with mounting. The boxes come without any hardware or predrilled mounting points. You need to measure it all out yourself. Plus your rack appears to connect to a specific style of clip that will not be on the Tusks. If you can resolve those obstacles, you're there.
They mount to most any rack if you can figure out how to attacht them. I used Happy-trails pannier mount kit. Touratech and Tusk also make "universal" pannier mounting kits. Take the racks off your bike and lay them on the backside of the panniers and mark the location of your mounts. Makes placement much easier. Good luck.
they will fit your rack with a little imagination the hard ware that comes with the case is really basic. I made my own to go on my Vstrom 1000 work great. the beauty of these case is that they are not pre-drill so can customise them to your need. if your looking for a direct fit Tusk don't offer one.
You can make them work with a little bit of ingenuity. What you need to do is find some mounting hardware made by a different company that will work or you can make work with your rack. Research before purchasing.
I mounted mine to another brand of aftermarket racks.I know it doesn't help you but I can't give a definite answer to that. Best advice, search aluminum pannier images on the web.Sorry.
