Details

The K&N Xstream Powerlid is an additional layer of filtration for your machine that replaces your stock air box lid with a second filter element. It’s a clever idea that K&N executes well by using a machine specific fitment and the washable, reusable filter elements K&N is known for.

With the Powerlid in place, your stock air box stays the same but now you have a much larger area for air intake and essentially a pre-charger for your main air filter. Just take off your stock lid and snap the Powerlid on in its place.

Great product

Have had this product in the past let's the bike breathe does a great job only downside the clips don't like this lid you have to be very careful on how you clip it down.

Great

Great if you ride in any condition, especially Dust! Keeps the inner filter clean so if you have a two day ride or race the outside one collects all the junk and the inner one still looks brand new inside. Meant to be used with your inner filter, it does not interfere with airflow or performance.

K & N Xstream Powerlid

Bought as a back up since these will plug up with dirt first and cause the bike to run bad. They are a great upgrade if kept clean, but have have to be cleaned after each ride if in dirty conditions. This is for my wife who rides behind in the dust and they plug up fast.

Best lid on the market. You will hardly ever have to clean your air filter because the lid catches all of the dust .

Every Machine Should Have One!!

Awesome power increase(with jetting changes). Keeps air box/filter clean, so filter maintenance is reduced significantly. On the 400ex, make sure you remove air box breather tube and block off the opening...or dirty unfiltered air will continue to enter airbox dirtying the air filter prematurely. I wish K&N made these for all the sport quads I own.

Power lid

I like it!

This is a nice upgrade to a stock airbox. You will definitely hear the intake noise over the stock one. It breathes nicer and gives a little more power as well. The only thing I don't like is the chintzy velcro attachment of the prefilter.

Made a difference - Honda TRX400X

I am looking to get the most power I can out of my Hinda TRX400X without compromising the reliability of the machine. This was easy to install and it seems to have made a difference in the performance of the machine. It sounds a bit deeper without being loud. I would definitely recommend this as an easy mod. Others are correct it is not inexpensive, but it is does more for performance than other filters. I did not change the jetting even though the jets are included. Local Honda dealer did not want to change the jets. You don't have to, but I can tell it would be an even bigger performance gain with the included jets installed. I backed down from a 5 to a 4 rating as there are slights blemishes in the construction although they do not hurt construction or performance and K&N should come up with a better way to attach the DryCharger cover and the stock airbox clips were very difficult to close with the powerlid installed. The cost is not an issue if these small details were resolved.

Do you need to jet your ATV to use this lid ?

I Installed the K&N lid, an HMF slip on exhaust and the Boyesen QS3 all at the same time. I didn't just add the K&N lid. So, I cannot answer your question accurately. I will say with the combination of all three, it runs good for stock motor. There is also a green wire under the hood you can alter to gain 1000 more rpm. Hope this help

Yes, you get the power of running an open air box. And you still have the protection from dirt and mud getting in your airbox. It is the best of both worlds! I have them on all my four wheelers. Highly recommend!

What Jet Size for Stock Exhaust TRX400EX, with K and N Air Filter?

Unfortunately we do not have that information. Every machine will vary depending on altitude, fuel and air. Jetting is something you will have to be patient with and have to kinda tinker around with yourself.

That would depend on the machine you're putting this on. If you select your machine using the machine selection drop downs, a note should pop up telling you what specific jets the Powelid will come with. Or you could tell me what machine this is for and i can find it out for you.
