  • Tusk Top Rack

    Nice Rack!

Very nice rack, especially for the price. The missing star is I would have liked all of the hardware to be black to match the rack, but that is just me being picky. I really like that it mounts to the fender subframe instead of having mounting bars going all the way front to the seat mounts - much cleaner look. The fender drilling is no big deal. I cheated the directions for what I believe was a much faster install. First step for me was drilling the front rack mount pilot holes from under the fender - drilling through the center of the subframe holes to the left and right of the bolt that goes all the way through the fender and is seen in the middle of the fender. Then I drilled down from the top of the fender, using the pilots as the guide, placed the spacers in and secured the front mounts for the rack. That allowed me to drill pilots for the rear rack mounts in the middle of each of the two rear mounts from the fender top - no chance in damaging the subframe threads below becase the hex screws were still in them. Then, I removed the front rack mounts, took the rack off and drilled from the fender top the larger rear mount holes. Then, removed the two hex bolts from below the rear mount point, put all four spacers in place, rack, fit bolts in, and then tightened everything up.

  • Nelson Rigg Mini Expandable Sport Saddlebags

    Decent for the money w

I picked these up as a solution to carry enough gear for day trips mainly since I could not find a tail bag solution that was large enough to carry my tool roll along with other items. They installed easy enough, though it took a little effort to get them in a suitable position for riding, as well as making sure the straps didn't interfere with the latches and eyelets on the seat. The included straps to secure the bag to the frame work ok, but it was a little bit of a struggle to get them cinched right. I was a little disappointed to already see some of the internal rip stock fabric already fraying, had to dab in a little glue to prevent further damage. Included stiffeners took a little convincing to get in the right place, but they do their job wonderfully. Not sure what the other review on these was on about, but there are definitely multiple ways to secure the bags. All in all if you need a little extra storage for tools / gear but don't need massive bags these seem like a great fit. The lifetime warranty is pretty much the cherry on top, but overall these look like they will suit me fine.
