I purchased this JD jet kit for a 2001 KTM520 MXC that I recently acquired that coughed and spit at low rpm. There are a lot of these early 2000's carbureted bikes still around and they can be excellent bikes. If you get one, and it is not running right - start with a JD Jet Kit! Many times these carburetors are not easily accessible, so if you only want to do it once - this is the way to guarantee that you jet it correctly the first time! I installed this kit as the instructions read, and my 520 ran excellently! I am very impressed with this JD Jet Kit!

I paired this with a Tusk accelerator pump rebuild kit and from the first start, there was no more lean bog off the bottom. Acceleration was instant like it should be. Worth every penny if you have a lean bog off the bottom.

Very easy to install even though I chose to route it slightly different than their suggested mounting point for the KLR. With the infamous KLR "air box mod" and my Leo Vince X3 slip on it definitely smooths things out across the power band. I do notice a slight increase in throttle response and overall pull in each gear. I will not make any specific claims on a horsepower increase without an actual dyno test, but my butt dyno tells me there is something extra there. Most importantly, I can tell the air/fuel ratio is really where it should be now with the settings I used.
