  Very handy to have. I bought a duo (two pack) so I can talk to my son while we ride on trails. They have saved us a lot of headache from having to stop to talk. Helps to call out areas to avoid, like a low branch, logs that are down, sharp curves and so on. My son snagged a long (10 foot) cable used for cattle fence and had no clue. I was able to tell him to stop so we could remove it before any damage. It was caught in his front rotor, so it could have turn out bad. We only use them on 4 stroke MX bikes (CRF150R & CRF250R), so we do have to wait for quiet engine times to talk.
