PowerMadd is excited to introduce their latest handguard offering! The Sentinel Series Handguard is designed to be the most stylish, durable and funtional handguard to date. The Sentinel guard is larger compared to the Star Series which in turn gives you more protection. The mounting brackets are 6061 aluminum, while the guard itself is made of two different types of plastic—a stiff two piece spine for durability, and a softer colored body for flexibility.
The new Sentinel Mount Kits are designed to be more universal and easier to install than the Star Series Mount Kits. The shape of the mounting bracket has been changed to allow more space around levers. It can be installed over the top or underneath the levers.
Mounting kits are made of aluminum brackets, hardened steel straps and stainless steel hardware for longer life.
Mount near the grip so they will work on standard 7/8" and oversize (1 1/8") bars.
Ordered these over the star series because they were said to offer more protection. From what I can tell they are high quality guards. The mounting brackets are thick and look to be very durable, I'll be ordering the wrap around kit soon. Only complaint is that the thickness of the bracket arm was so thick I couldn't run them over the top without adjusting the brake lever. But really it's the throttle assembly on the newer yfz's that was the issue, it's so bulky that it forces you to move the brake or run underneath.
I have installed there on 2018 Yamaha Raptor 700r and the look great. The and mount any needs half an inch of space. I also installed the hand wraps on mine. My Raptor though has solid steel in the handgrip area. I drilled in as far as my drill bit would go and tapped it. This was more work but a much more solid mount in the end. Very well made product.
Look Great, but would be better if they were one piece
I love the look of these, and the options for venting by removing a piece of plastic, or adding the LED lights is a good idea, but they don't seem to be real durable. They are made of a couple different plastic compounds fused together, and if/when you dump your bike and it lands on these guards, they crack on the joints where the compounds come together. My kickstand sunk in the mud and my bike fell over and landed on the guard. The metal bracket that mounts the guard to the handle bars snapped. You have to buy the whole kit to fix one.
Okay I'm going to be honest. I got these simply to make my Polaris Outlaw 525 IRS look a little meaner. Went for a ride over the weekend it was cold and holy did these keep my hands from the wind. Cannot say enough good about this product seems sturdy easy to install love the look. As always Rocky Mountain ATV delivered in days still blows my mind how good of a company Rocky Mountain ATV is.
I believe it to be pretty universal. Your choice of mount will make the difference. I do remember they listed 1 specific ATV that had special instructions. Sorry I can’t be more help, mounted fine with ATV MOUNT to 03 KFX 400.
