If you don’t like leaving your UTV’s trailing arms vulnerable to rocks and damage, the Pro Armor Rear Trailing Arm Armor is protection that does not disappoint. Built to fit your specific make and model of machine, Pro Armor forms these guards from robust but lightweight aluminum alloy so you can bet that dings, dents, and damage will get stopped in their tracks.
For an even greater level of protection, Pro Armor tacks on a ½ inch thick slider made of UHMW, a polyethylene material that is super tough and super slick. With this material you get the rugged backing of aluminum with a face of UHMW that lets your machine slide off obstacles and glide over terrain that would damage lesser armor. With this level of quality and a trick look added to your machine, there’s no real reason you should go without the Pro Armor Rear Trailing Arm Armor.
Aluminum alloy base construction protects your trailing arms
Added ½" thick UHMW skid for strength and durability when sliding on rocks
½" UHMW allows you to slide off rocks and other terrain
Durable rock and impact protection
Front aluminum cap on UHMW
Adds great custom looks to machine
CNC cutouts for easy cleaning
Durable and lightweight
Aluminum cap on UHMW keeps it from separating from the armor
I bought these to protect my trailing arms from Moab and other rocks and things that I might slide on. They look great and I figured I can't go wrong with ProArmor (I have tons of their stuff). The problem with these is that once you scrape or hit something with the guards in place, the forward end of the guard will flare open. This happens because the front section of the guard sticks out a tiny bit too far and has nothing to support it. So when you land on a rock or put pressure on this part it will bend slightly, causing the sides of the guard to open outward. Well when the sides flare open, everything will fall in there.. little rocks, dirt, etc. This will then scratch into the paint and start etching into your trailing arm. (little rocks about 1 inch in diameter).
I sent pictures to ProArmor and requested them to re-evaluate the design and was basically told to go pound sand. From a customer service standpoint, I will never buy proarmor again.
Anyone that bought these WILL have this problem despite the positive reviews. If you own a set of these, I suppose a solution would be to cut off approx. 1/2 inch to 1 inch of the front leading section of the guards.
Got the guards today and installed them in about 20 minutes, had a little trouble with the alinement but with a second jack install was okay, as described the product is great and the price is well worth it, a must have if you want to protect your machine
It is an okay product. The inside top of the guard does not fit snugly against the trailing arm and will be a rock and dirt trap. The guard does not cover the back of trailing arm I have only had these on for a few rides so cannot comment on durability but they should be okay.
Outstanding item, a must have for protection. Light weight, and of good quality. The install was not as easy as video leads you to believe. I does take to people to lift and lower the RZR xp 4 1000 on a jack with jack stands at the ready.
These arrived as scheduled. Installed very easily. You do have to drill out the trailing arm hole a bit bigger on one of the mounting locations. Will need a 1/2" drill to do so. The hardware was all included and very stout. The bolts and nuts are rusting some after a few off road trips but I guess that's ok. A coated nut and bolt may have been more in order for the money.
The guards are very well built and the plastic on the bottom has helped me slide over a few Kentucky,Tennessee, West Virginia, objects with very little sign of wear.
They come with a nylon lock nut so I just snugged them up initially. I found they rattled some so we tightened them a bit more and that's fixed the rattle.
Overall a great addition to the underside of my XP LE.
