Very comfortable, little tire with liners if you want to wear street close order a size bigger, pretty warm lots of pocket, pretty lite weight ,isn’t very heavy but is warm
I wasn’t sure what jacket to get but out of all the brands they had in stock this was the most comfortable and the most padded for the price. It’s a super warm jacket when you need it to be, riding in freezing temperature was no problem. When it’s warmer out all the vents on this jacket easily cool you down so you can enjoy your ride. I highly recommend this jacket!
The jacket is warm and the collar is high which helps keep the neck warm. I have had the chance to ride in a few 40 degree days and am overly satisfied by the protection.
Just purchased so can't speak to the durability, but it seem to be a quality set of gear. Fit is good. I'm 5-7 160#... went with M jacket and 32 pant. It's nice having one set of gear that will cover you through almost anything. Wore it on a 34 degree day with just a t shirt and boxers and was fine. For me there is a little room to add a layer for really cold days. One little thing I would change is there is no loop to hang jacket or pants on a hook. I was surprised by this. All in all a great value.
Amazing! I was hoping this gear would at least be a good fit. Not only is a perfect fit but the quality is amazing. I didn't realize when ordering that is had removable insulated lining, as well as protection in the jacket and pants. Not sure what everyone is talking about the pants being too long, when you sit on the bike they are perfect. They are supposed to be long while standing.
Fit is perfect, I'm 5'11", 225lbs, 36" waist, 31" inseam (wear 32's), little beer belly and broad shoulders. I bought a 36" pant, PERFECT! XL Jacket, PERFECT!!!!
I just received the jacket last week. I think the fit is true to size. I got the extra large. I am 6ft 2 and weigh about 215. I tried it out on a short ride the next day. It was about 42 degrees and misty in northern Washington. I was comfortable except for a little coolness in the very front which I will correct next time with a warmer layer.
Wore it for the first time this morning. 48 degrees at 60 mph very comfortable. Haven't worn in the rain yet, can't say about water proofing, not expecting a problem. Feature rich jacket. Sleeves a bit tight, should loosen up a bit in time. I'm very happy I bought it. I think it's an outstanding value, well worth the price compared to what I've seen in other brands. Looking forward to many comfortable and well protected miles ( great armoring). I usually wear a large in most garments. got a medium at Sidney's advice and one of the reviews. I'm a 41" chest, right in the middle between medium and large. Got the medium, fits just right with a light weight fleece underneath.
Great jacket and value! The only annoyance is the hydration bladder pocket- It needs to be larger to accommodate newer wider hydration bladders. After a couple of trips to the local sporting goods store, I found the Camlebak Crux 2L Reservoir "worked" but just barely- had to take some water out.
This jacket is awesome! It’s got all the features and protection of much more expensive jackets that I was comparing it to($300-400+) before I purchased it. When I received it and tried it on it fit and felt great! Not too snug, not too loose. I’m 5’10 205lbs with broad shoulders and love handles lol. So glad I decided to get this set(also got the pants). Now I can use the additional money I was going to spend on the more expensive jacket for some other accessories.
I would recommend this jacket! Super buy for the money over many high end jackets. Very warm with liner down to temps in the low 30’s. Haven’t had a chance to wear it in the rain yet. Very comfortable!
Started today's trail ride in my new A.R.C. jacket with outside temps around 40 deg under cloudy skies. Zipped up with the liner removed wearing only a tee shirt, body armor, and mesh jersey. I sayed perfectly worm through the mud and deep water holes. Mid-day the sun came out and the temps went to 60. I opened three vent zippers on the A.R.C. jacket and it was like I turned on the air conditioning. This is an amazing jacket. I removed the back and shoulder armor from the jacket and found the it still fit perfectly over my body armor. High quality, super comfortable, built in armor, and water resistant. I could not have hoped for anything more!

This jacket has great ventilation and is super comfortable.
Great improvements over old style but still not waterproof. Leaks or dampness after about an hour in the rain. It is still great bang for your money but I'm on my 4th adventure jacket and nothing is fully waterproof. I'm going to have to buy Klim next. Lots of great features and I wear it daily so I still rate it highly.
I've owned this jacket for one riding season, great ventilation and waterproofing. However the collar valcrow is weak and I've had stitching come loose on the hydration tube elastic along with the right sleeve tie down. The reflective piping is also chaffing in some places. Over all I like the jacket i just wish I could get the matching pants in my size. The stitching issue is the only thing keeping it from five stars. And I wish they had an additional snap to keep the collar closed.
OK so i Have on this jacket or a little over a year now but I wanted to wait to I used it often enough to give a fair review.
I own a summer Alpinestar dummer mesh jacket and this one for the rest of my seasons.
This past weekend I went through about 2 hours worth of a rainstorm and I was dry.... This is been the 2nd rain storm and both times I have remained dry.
The ventillation is adequate I would like to see longer sleeve and shoulder openings but the back ventillation panels help tremendously as well.
Plenty of pockets many of which are waterproof ...tested ...seem to be OK.
Comes with plenty of armor... I added chest armor into the inside and external pockets even though it's not built for it seems to do just fine.
Over all it is a great jacket and I would consider buying it or its next generation again.
Love this jacket! For the price, it’s everything I needed and wanted. Great ventilation, materials and comfort. I have wide shoulders so I ordered an XL, the arms are a little long in the arms but still fits great.
This is a great jacket so far, rode through a typical Alberta September rain storm and didn't get wet except for just a little around the collar that ran off my helmet. I have a 41" chest, 190lbs, 5'10, and according to the chart I would be on the bottom end of size large. I took a chance and went with the medium and glad I did, it fits perfectly.
Just got the jacket and put about 50 miles on it today. Weather was about 85 degrees and with the liner removed and all of the vents open I stayed comfortable. I think the features on the jacket make it an incredible value, haven't tested the durability or protection yet but it feels very well made. I wanted to order the pants but was told by a Rocky Mtn employee that the line is being discontinued.
As a new rider, I love this jacket so far. It feels super safe with the durable fabric and the armor pads in it give me a lot of peace of mind as well. It’s been 80+ every day I’ve worn it and as long as you open all the vents and keep moving it’s not a problem. I have yet to test it in the rain and cold. Fit great with a little room for a coat underneath. Good pocket size in the front and the pouch in the back for a water bladder is a life saver.
I've been looking for a solid riding jacket for a while. I just bought this one and took it on a 7 day Oregon BDR trip. The temps ranged from 65-107. With the vents open, I didn't suffer too bad in the heat. The jacket fits great in the shoulders and arms, but is a little large in the chest and mid section. My only issue was with the water bladder pocket on the back. While this is a great idea and feature, the pocket is so small that it won't hold a full 70oz bladder. I'm not sure what size would fit in there, but it's small. The other issue, is that when you do stuff a full water bladder in the pouch, the weight pulls the jacket back and kinda chokes you. A set of chest straps to keep the jacket in place would have been a great feature to distribute the weight of the bladder.
Heard about the jacket from the Everide channel. It's a great jacket, fit is great, air flows good, and it's warm when all zipped up. I haven't used it in the rain yet, but all the reviews say it does good.
The jacket performed well. Weather ranged from sunny & hot to COLD and misty on Mt Ranier.
The jacket kept me dry during rainstorms- you just got to be sure to snug up the sleeves at the wrists- water will get up the sleeve. This is Operator error not the jacket's fault.
The jacket vented reasonably well in temps in the upper 80's and 90's.
The only area for improvement is the neck closure. It's a liitle tight to close it and the velcro tabs are a liitle too precise (high up) for easy closing.
There is no nice way to secure the front collar closure if you want to open it for additional venting in hot weather.
It would be nice if there was a way to secure the collor when it's in an open position.
I just rode 300 miles through the Adirondacks in a downpour while wearing the pants and jacket. They are definitely waterproof. Only one drawback.....this gear is HEAVY! But it still deserves 5 stars for value and versatility.
I was very impressed with this jacket right out of the package. Quality durable 600 denier with well thought out pockets, snaps and reflective material. The liner has fasteners and zippers to stay in place for colder days. Air passes easily through the shell vents on summer days and is quite comfortable. I'm a believer!
Jacket fit great.venting very good on a sport touring bike. Had to return because it leaked into the elbows in the rain on the second day I had it. Good jacket for the money, just not water resistant.
I learned of this jacket from the eveRide review on YouTube. It's everything Tyler said it is. Watch the eveRide review of the new Battleborn gear on YouTube if you have any questions. He covers everything in great detail. Thanks!
True to size. I have not worn it in the rain yet but it is very well constructed and comfortable. Sleeves are plenty long which is great for me. It is a little tight around the cuffs with the liner in. I also would like to see the cuff opening a little larger so air would flow better on hot days with cuffs all the way open.
It's not a Klim, but for the price it cannot be beat!
I say it's not a Klim, but it's a quarter the price and at least half as good. I call that a win any day! I'm 6'0" and 170#, medium fit great (little big in the stomach area, but the velcro cinches help with that). The arms a little long, but I consider that a positive. All in all, I really can't complain about much, it's a great jacket!
Hit a dry mud rut, woke up on the ground. Thumbs hurt like heck, helmet is scratched, goggles are toast, out fit has some dirt on it. Other than two small marks on my forehead I lost no skin, I think it paid for itself just there. Next week I take it to Vietnam, where I will ride from Hanoi to the southern tip of Vietnam and then back up to Hoi Chi Min City. It’s going to hotter than the hubs of hell so we’ll test out the vents there.
bought this jacket for a trip to California soon, no real testing yet but its pretty darn good so far, no complaints other then some minor fitment issues, which have improved since making the video i uploaded..Youtube.com/TheDimsyProject
Amazing jacket (coming from someone new to motorcycles)
I am new to ADV motorcycle riding, so I don’t have comprables. However, my first impressions of this jacket are great. Great protection on the shoulders, elbows and back. Really nice feel and fit. I’ve been riding in cold weather without any problemas. I have also experienced some rain and the jacket didn’t let a single drop go through. The adjustable straps let you have the perfect fit.
I spent many hours looking online for a new adventure jacket. A friend recommended I check this one out. So very glad i did. It is all i could ever ask of a jacket in this price range.Great fit w/ a lot of adjust-ability. Took some time to get used to the armor but once you are riding you forget all about it. Have used it this spring in 30 degree weather and it has kept me toasty warm. I would highly recommend this jacket.
Just purchased this jacket after a year or so of reading reviews and I'm glad I did. Regarding the sizing, I am 5-10 and 155 lbs and I purchased a small and it fits perfectly. The quality is top notch and the zippers work flawlessly. It has tons of features and value for the money. I highly recommend it.
If you're looking for a great jacket without spending too much, look no further.
When I first received the jacket and tried it on I thought I was going to need to return it. It felt very large for a large. I weigh 170 and I got the large based on a few other review I read. I even had a friend who is my size try it on as well and even at 230 he was able to zip it up all be it a little snug. I should mention that it did have the insulated quilted liner in it too. Once I adjusted the belt and arm adjustments it for much nicer. My plan for it is for winter fall and early spring in Virginia. So I will always be wearing more than a T-shirt under it. I have no doubt it's going to be very warm in the cooler months of the year. Great features and build for the price. Other jackets have better features like snaps for holding the vents open, or more reflective panels or built in removable high vis vests. But for the price, you will be hard pressed to find a system as well built and well equipped. The armor is solid and the back protection is nicer than other jackets I had been looking at. I ordered the gray version so that I don't bake if I ever make it to the South West or South America and I'm sure I'll still have this suit then because of the build quality.
Side note: I didnt order the helmet from Rocky Mountain. But the Scorpion AT950 pairs very well with this setup.
Hopefully ARC will start making Ladies cuts in the ARC system. When they do I will be buying a set for my wife. -m-1988 KAWASAKI KLR650--
Saw this jacket on Rocky Mountain product comparison video. Very happy with my purchase. Lots of pockets, zippered vents work well, zip out liner - comfortable fit.

I usually wear mediums. I’m 5’10”, 170lbs, 40” chest. I plan on wearing my Fox Titan armor underneath the jacket. I hear they run a size small, so I thought about getting a Large. Will I be fine in a larger with the Fox Titan armor on, or should I get a XL? Or am I thinking too much...
BEST ANSWER:these do have a liner so they are a little snug if you run that armor under neath i would say get the large but we do have our fit guarantee for this exact purpose. free shipping on the first exchange so you can try this out and see if it will fit. i hope this helped.

Thanks! The Large was perfect! My chest size with the armor is a 43”, and it fit well under the jacket evens ith the thermal liner installed and the jackets ce rated armor inserted. A little snug but not too snug. I find it very unlikely I’ll be hardcore off-roading in the winter though, so come summer time, I’ll have the liner out and most likely the jackets armor out as well. The jacket and pants fit perfectly
BEST ANSWER:Yes, the pockets hold the armor in place and can be removed quite easily. I was even able to add more armor on top of the pads included. I put additional D3o armor into the pockets with the included pads just fine.

Is the gear waterproof, I've seen mixed reviews online?

BEST ANSWER:I’ve been riding for decades and have yet to find any gear that is going to keep you 100% dry while riding in a rain storm. I haven’t worn this gear in heavy rain, but I’ve ridden through creeks, splashing water all over myself and my bike without getting wet. The water runs right off of it. It is definitely is waterproof. Rain proof? That’s a different question altogether.

I've had mine since March 2017. I've ridden in the rain and it kept me dry. There are 2 liners. one is quilted for warmth. I rode in 35 degree weather and it kept me warm. The other liner is for waterproofing. It is waterproof.
I have not had the opportunity to test here in sunny AZ yet, but if you search Youtube for Everide Battle Born, Tyler did an extensive review and ultimately made me decide to buy the jacket.
Riding in the rain...water will find a way in around the neck no mater what you wear. I have ridden in the rain in this gear, pants and jacket, and stayed more dry than anything I have ever ridden in. Nothing is waterproof
Do the zippered vents on the BattleBorn jacket allow air to pass through the outer shell AND the water-proof Z-Liner membrane or is vented air only allowed to circulate between the outer shell and the waterproof membrane?
BEST ANSWER:Full Disclosure, I have not crashed in them, but the jacket & pants certainly seem to be made for encounters with pavement. The armor is all CE rated and the construction (stitching, type and weight of fabrics, etc.) is similar to other adventure/touring gear -- think of the Firstgear Kilimanjaro for example. Only compromise is the hip armor which is foam padding but you will find the same on other touring pants in this price range and considerably higher.

I use the Battleborn jacket on my daily 70 mile commute in the S.F. Bay Area. Close the vents in the cool morning, open them in the hot afternoon. I don't think it would be comfortable on a sportbike because it's longer and would press against the legs, but I could be wrong. Protection is solid with forearm, elbow, and shoulder padding. The back pad is better than the thin foam you get with most jackets, too.
There is armor in the usual places (shoulders, elbows, knees, hips) and the material is fairly sturdy Cordura like material, abrasion resistant but wouldn't probably hold up to asphalt as well as it would on dirt. However, I have used mine as every day riding gear. Hope this helps answer your question.
The armor in the jacket is quite good for street use as as is the knee armor in the pants, the hip pads are not so good as they are just foam pads attached with Velcro and are more of a bother when puttin on and taking the pants off as they keep pulling loose, I ended up leaving them out.
I do mostly street riding on long trips with some off road along the way. I feel very protected and love the venting and hydration bladder pocket. I can't think of anything more I would want from an all around riding suit.
The Jacket is great for off and on road. The fabric is very sturdy and provides adequate protection for the street. I wouldn’t drag your elbows or knees in the corners, but other than that you should be good.
Thy should offer as much protection as any comparable textile jacket/pants. I feel quite comfortable to ride in them on the street but I’ll stick to my leathers for trackdays and racing.
BEST ANSWER:The jacket comes with armor in the elbows, shoulders and back. The thick material is very sturdy and I’ve never had an issue with rocks or dirt hitting me hard enough to feel it. I ride without any additional armor other than what comes with the jacket. As to the chest room, I have an extra large and I think there would be plenty of room to wear armor if you’d want to. The side since straps loosened up all the way should work depending on the size you order.

I assume you are asking about the armor that comes with the jacket, not some type of additional armor you would wear under the coat. The Battleborn jacket fits true to size in my experience. If you measure, I would just wear a t-shift or whatever type of riding jersey or base layer you normally use. I take an XL jacket and with the included cold weather liner and armor installed, it still has a little bit of room to add my light weight down vest. In the summer, without the liner, it is a loose fit which helps with ventilation. I use a cooling vest without problems. This is my second set of this model of jacket and pants and am very satisfied.
The jacket has CE rated shoulder, elbow, and back armor already in it. Removable for washing machine cleaning the jacket. I (45yrs) and my son (17) are slim, 5’11 155# and 6’1” 160# respectively and wear a medium with plenty of room for base layers, even with the quilted liner. Very well thought out jacket with plenty of pockets in the right places. Can’t beat it for the price, in my opinion.
The ARC Battleborn jacket runs a little big. "American cut", meaning tailored for a gut. I'm a 41" chest and the large was too big, so I exchanged it for a Medium. The medium fit me pretty good. (I don't have a big gut) Hope this helps. My opinion, FWIW, would be buy a size smaller than you might otherwise.
Depends on if you are using the built in padding or take them out( coat has armor on shoulders, elbows back etc), it also has a liner that is removable. Never had problems wearing 3 layers under it for the size that I ordered.
I measure 43” and Large fits good. Plenty of room for a few shirt layers but If you are going to wear extra armor underneath jacket I would measure with it on. Remember this jacket has back, shoulder, elbow armor built-in
I am using an XXL with the padding/armor the jacket came with. Took the liner out(fits fine with it in) and use a thinner base layer if it is below 60F. Fits me well. (6'0" and 240 lbs) Great jacket!!
How does the set hold up in 90+ degree temperatures? Will it vent well enough to ditch the mesh sport jackets that I always find myself riding in during the summer? How heavy are they?
BEST ANSWER:Vents definitely help a lot! They're better than the foul weather A.R.C. jacket and pants by far. I rode in a muggy 90° weekend recently, and it was pretty hot still. The material is thick, but you'll be glad on cooler days, and if you go down. Mesh jacket if you have room in your luggage would be fantastic, but for me I like having one set of riding gear. Battle Born is a fantastic option for not packing extra riding jacket. In hot weather I just wear cool moisture wicking tank top underneath, and if you stay moving it's not bad with vents open (esp if you have a well vented helmet). Highly recommend this jacket/pant combo. The thermals make 30's° riding a non issue as well.
I rode through the Mojave in 120 degrees and as long as you're moving it's bearable. With heat the truth is that you need protection to keep your sweat on your skin, and this jacket does this while allowing enough airflow to let your body use it's natural processes to cool you down.

I find the jacket does a decent job of venting , Temp's haven't gotten to 90 here yet, I would probably still use my mesh jacket when temps get that High. The jacket is a little on the heavy side but not to bad, but it's not a $800+ jacket . Jacket and pants do a great job for what i use them for, only had them for about a month but sofar i am pleased with my purchase
I only have the ARC pants paired up with a Series 3 Tour Master jacket, they both have good pockets and removable zippered liners and very good venting at +20mph...anything more than a T-Shirt in +80 degrees is hot when stopped at a long traffic light.
I ordered a set last night, so I will give it a shot and see what it feels like. I am looking to slim down my collection of gear to just a couple of options. LOL.
First, I haven't used my jacket n pants in hot weather. I would say not heavier than normal armored riding jackets. My plan this summer is to take it into the desert on a several thousand mile trip. It has a pouch for a camel back water bladder.
The inner liner is removable and it has 2 large chest vents, that being said if your trail riding at slow speeds in 90 degree temps you will get warm. It is an excellent jacket and has quality construction. I would highly recommend.
I havent tried it yet in an AZ summer but I have used it in high 80s in strenuous riding conditions.. Venting is better than I thought but not great. Backpack straps cover tWeight is hefty/durable feeling but not heavy.
I still haven't worn mine because it's very heavy and warm. I'm in So. Ca. It's a beautiful jacket, but too heavy and thick even without liner for my location.
I need some sizing advice for this jacket. I'm 6'3", 240 lbs, wear a size 38 pant, have just under a 48" chest. I usually wear a XL in most brands. Would I need a XL or XXL?
I'm about 5'" and my weight runs between 175 and 185 usually. It seems like I'm always between sizes on all of my clothes so I ordered the large jacket. The sleeves are a tad long for me, the end is about mid palm, but it's not a problem. The jacket has adjustable straps on the arms and waist so I think all you will need to do is get the size close. The arms strap has about 4" of adjustment and the waist strap has probably close to 8". I also prefer my riding gear to be just a little loose so I can layer when the temps drop, I'd rather go loose then tight especially with the jacket.

Nicholas, you must be my long lost twin. I am 6’3”, 235-240 pounds and either 36 or 38” waist depending on what type of pants. I have the XL Battle Born jacket and it’s perfect. It fits good with just a t-shirt underneath (easy to cinch up with the adjustment straps) . In colder weather like now I wear a fleece jacket underneath and it still fits well. I prefer this over the included zip-in liner. Overall I love the jacket.
I’m 5’10” 180 got large size when I can wear medium I’m happy with jacket got caught in two downpours it oloud water up the sleeves a bit but it better than my past jacket. When it come to cold weather it the best with inter jacket that it provide 38 degrees ridding whole day never got cold just hands & facegot cold. Glad to have the jacket for cold and the downpours
Hi Nicholas, I'm 6' 4" at 235 and I'd go with the XXL, I'd originally ordered the XL but it didn't fit my shoulders or upper arms. Don't pay attention to the name Gianna...that's my daughter's name... thanks, Chris
I found this jacket to be bigger then expected. I would go with the same size you normally do. The jacket is very roomie and has plenty of space. I have an xl and I’m 6’2 240 lbs
5’11” 220. 46 inch chest and 38 waist. Xl fits me with room to spare so if you plan on lots of under layers maybe go 2x but they are roomy. Pants at 38 fit well too.
BEST ANSWER:This jacket seems very durable. It is really warm with the liner in. I ride in the woods and desert and it has survived well. Tag says to machine wash. NO tumble dry, NO Dry clean.

For those of you whom may have worn both colors of these jackets in the heat of summer; is the grey cooler than the black as one would assume, or are they the same?
BEST ANSWER:I have the jacket in black and I ride in Southern California. I have not noticed any issues with heat absorption. I’ll take the black over the grey just on that color to hide the dirt and bugs better. It’s a great jacket. Go with what you like and ride.
Thanks for the reply. You voiced my exact feelings towards the available color options. I like the black over the grey, and Steve M. said the venting is adequate to keep cool.

I didn't try the black one but the gray one is certainly going to be cooler in the summer time. I had other black jackets and they get very hot during summer, specially in direct sunlight. Also, depends where you live and how bad are your summer temperatures.
Living in Florida, Black is not an option ! Black will always be hotter in the summer sun, but if you need more warmth in the winter months it’s a consideration, if you are moving the ventilation will help.
BEST ANSWER:No. But depending on what size you purchased and what additional armor you have, it is possible to wear additional armor under the jacket. I was able to wear my fox titan armor under the jacket comfortably.

No armor on the chest. Armor on shoulders, elbows and back. Great jacket, great ventilation and yet a warm jacket even low 30 degree temps with just a t-shirt underneath.
BEST ANSWER:I am 6’4, 200 lbs 34 W and 44 chest and the jacket in XL fits me good, but snug in chest. I use the adjustable waist to tighten up the jacket for a better fit there. Overall very happy with it, the arm length works. I passed on the pant because I have a 34” inseam and chose the icon Watchtower pants in their tall size. Very satisfied with those as well. Hope that helps.

I'm 5'8" and 185lbs. I went with an XL jacket so I could wear a hoodie under in extreme cold and it fits snug. With just a t-shirt, it's a little big but fits well. I have sorry legs, and you can only get one inseam option depending on the size waist you order. The kneepads are more like shin pads for me, that would be my only complaint.
I'm only 5'7" and 180 but ordered the large. It's a little big but not too big for me, the adjustable straps give lots of extra room but cinch in enough for me. I was told this morning by a Rocky Mtn employee that they are discontinuing the BattleBorn line of products. I think it's a mistake to do that but not my call.
I am 200lbs and 5ft 10in I have the XL Jacket and it seems big enough to fit the Titan Armor under the jacket. Worst case would be you would have to remove the insulated lining. I will say that the jacket does have good protection built in so you may not want Titan armor under Jacket. I also were the Titan Armor for offroad and XC.
BEST ANSWER:I own the jacket and I really like it, great ventilation for summer and with the liner and good base layer it is great for cold weather as well, also got caught in a pouring rain and stayed perfectly dry
