Bought this for my first race a couple years ago. Fit was good. Makes you feel very safe. I've ejected from the bike a couple times now with it now and I can always walk away with hardly a scratch. Only downside it that it's very hot and so I don't ride with it once it gets above 80 degrees.
Got this on sale, what a great deal. Very comfortable and gives u a good sense of security when riding. A lot better then my 20 year old chest protector.
This is not really worth it. No vents in the chest means hot and sweaty ride. The plastic on this thing is also very thin and would not protect against a sharp pencil let alone a big branch or another dirt bike landing on you. I should have returned it before I rode with it. I'll get something better when it falls apart I guess.
This looked like just what I needed and it was, but pay close attention to sizing. I measured my chest and came up with 42"(I'm slender). According to EVS I needed an extra large. Although an extra large fit, the elbow guards were loose, the sleeves too long and overall it felt slightly too large. Even though there are straps to cinch thing down, I thought it was less than ideal and knew on the trail things would slop around. My intuition told me this would be the case when I first ordered it, but you have to go with the manufacturerer's recommendation right? My experience is that the sizing is off from EVS and just order the same size as you would a normal jersey. The large fits perfect for me and is light and comfortable. I am 5'10, 165#.
I hope this helps people trying to decide what size to get. It's definitely an awesome jersey.
I am new to dirt bike riding and was looking for something to protect me when I crash riding mountain single track. For about the same price as a chest protector I purchased this product and have back/shoulder/elbow/chest protection. I like that it has the thumb holes, which keep the sleeves in place. It is reasonably light weight, but it is hotter than wearing no protection, it hasn't bothered me though. I wear a jersey over this when I ride, otherwise I think you would look goofy (but it wouldn't be as hot). I crashed while riding today and the elbow protection helped a ton to protect me. EVS makes one of these with kidney protection, but it isn't (or atleast wasn't available when I bought this) available through rockymountain and I would probably have purchased that for the addition protection had it been available. All in all I recommend this if you are looking for "all in one" protection.
It says it's ballistic, so is it bulletproof? Like, .22 or 9mm bulletproof?

BEST ANSWER:Definitely not . No motocross jersey is going to be bulletproof . Just a marketing term to mean that it is tuff & durable . I actually returned mine I needed more shoulder protection do to shoulder injury . But I thought is was a very good product . I needed more of a larger shoulder cup.

I would say it's more rock proof . Not sure what gauge of rock or gravel. But if your buddy is ahead of you and slinging a roost up, This will definitely help.
BEST ANSWER:I have a Leat neck brace but didn,t try it on before I sent it back , it didn,t have the shoulder protection I was looking for after having a shoulder injury . but im sure it would work together, I got the Fox Racing CE Rooster Deflector , I think it gives you better protection plus it wraps fully around the mid section most don,t have that feature plus on Close out right now . but remember to loosen all hex bolts and put lock tight on them a problem with most new chest protecters. Hope this helps

EVS website says 'neck brace compatible'. The Leatt tongue would have to tuck inside the back protector plastic, which looks to be open. But much of the Leatt would then have to be UNDER a outer jersey (w/ a big collar), so a bigger jersey needed. I ordered G6 and will see.
The G6 is Leatt neck brace compatible. The Leatt tongue tucks in a designated location close to your back, which leaves the inside of the Spine protector compartment open, for the 50 oz. EVS hydro pak system, very trick feature. Available @ RMMC. The kidney belt (& heat) is the only diff. between std.& lite. Impressed with this EVS Jacket overall. A oversized jersey needed, and so I cut/ & sewn a slot in the back of it for the Leatt tongue to drop in. Dialed! & recommend..
